Twin Peaks Season 3 OT |25 Years Later...It Is Happening Again

Another great episode. So many unsettling moments, and for some reason David Bowie being immortalized as a giant tea kettle makes sense (not really why not). I hope him and the arm brain tree thing get to hang out sometimes. Did the Jeffries form remind anyone else of the big bell/boilers or whatever the hell they were from the White Lodge and the mauve place?

Something definitely up with Audrey. Don't think it'll be clear what's going on by the end of the show, but it will fit into the larger picture somehow.

Yeah, I definitely believed that the Convience store had an entrance towards the White Lodge. I'm sad for Catherine Coulson, I'm very glad she got all her scenes. We're very lucky to have this series as it is. It's a shame we couldn't get other actors like Silva and Bowie to do their parts, but I can't also imagine this series without Ferrer and Coulson. Heck just the thought of seeing Bowie and Coulson in the cast list so long after their passing gives me a smile.

I'm pretty sure we got Cooper back. You can say all what you want about Lynch trolling and it could happen, but I know that he knows that it feels right to have Cooper back after that.

I'm very glad we got a view on the Jumping Man, I expect to see more of him in the remaining episodes.

Also, the woman who opened the door for Mr. C was in the credits. And it was creepy as fuck.

And I thought that the Veils were gonna play In the Nightfall, not Axolotl, which was pretty good nonetheless. The entire album (Total Depravity) fits very well into this season. I suggest you guys give it a listen.

"We lived among the people. I think you say, convenience store. We lived above it. I mean it like it is... like it sounds."

Hey, Mike, you sure about that? Because no part of that sounds like "a pocket dimension connected to a disappearing shack which might actually be a bunch of trees in the middle of nowhere, away from any people." Also how were you confused by the convenience store part when that's exactly what the ghost shop sign says?

To be quite frank, I can picture random people just stopping by thinking it's an actual store and just being trapped in there for an eternity while having their Doppelgangers take their place on Earth.

Wonderful episode. Such a great balance between light and dark. I feel for anyone actively seeking spoilers, part of the brilliance of the show is having zero idea where it is headed.

Shout out to Hutch and Chantal btw. What a hilarious duo they make despite their small roles.

Really enjoyed this one. Now I'm pretty convinced that Audrey is dreaming/in a coma which makes those scenes a whole lot more interesting.

Great episode, a lot here I definitely need to rewatch; I still do not think Audrey is dreaming or in a coma, just has lasting issues from the blast, especially now that it's confirmed Richard is her son. I mean, with a show that has talking kettles that live in a ghost hotel that's connected to a disappearing store in the woods I probably shouldn't think this would be too crazy, but seems really unlikely Audrey would have given birth to Richard while in a coma.

So Norma mentioned a family. A lie? Or... Annie?
Sounded like a cross between a lie and a cheesy line about the town being like the wonderful family she used to be able to take care of (which is also a lie, because that town is a fucking nighmare).

Phillip in a diving bell, the apparent importance of Judy, Dougie playing with an outlet, some super punches, and another round of "The Mysteries of Audrey Horne". Good, good times.

But the best was Charlyne Yi as the star of this week's "...At the Roadhouse" segment. Barring the occasional moment here or there I think this has been my favorite thing about the show, just these little snippets of something.

edit: I will say the show made a fatal error in not introducing Randall Headley sooner. "Kids-uh?! Plural? Kids-uh?!!...*shuts door* Wilson!" We should've had quadruple as many scenes of him by now.

I spotted that too. If I were a betting man, I'd say we met Judy.

The Veils 'Total Depravity' album is good (apart from King of Chrome, which I don't enjoy!) well worth a listen.

Loved seeing Jumping Man, and I also thought his face looked weirdly like Coops at one point?

Lovd the episode with the exception of Steven and Gersten - I just don't care about their story. Perhaps it will tie up and change by the end.

Dougie foreshadowed the power socket back when he spotted the red shoes - I think Dougie is dead.. long live Agent Dale Cooper.

So pleased for Big Ed and Norma, and you can't go wrong with a bit o' Sharp Dressed Man.

Can't believe Jefferies is a kettle. Oh, hang on.. yes I can. Didn't rate the voice actor much though, sounded too obviously different.

you can't put a price on sparks
am i the only one that took away from this episode that "Doop" might actually be the real Cooper the whole time, and Dougie is actually the evil Cooper? despite having Bob in him still.

It's like he wasn't even trying to emulate that ridiculous accent, or maybe it just didn't fit his new dull dialogue. Turning into a kettle is quite the party trick, but hell god baby damn no, that's not my Jeffries.

Nah. The scene where he tells Kettle Phillip he remembers the Judy conversation also had DoppelCoop in it (the scene with the CCTV, where Dale is in two places at once).

It's my understanding (could be wrong) that shadow-selves are always there under the surface when the 'real' person is present.

I honestly enjoy that the resolution to Steve's storyline was just him offing himself in the forest after talking about how much he enjoyed fucking Gersten. Wonder if anything will even come of that.

fantastic episode, really liked the Audrey scene. Her unwillingness to put her coat on and leave the house (and covering that fear up by lashing out at Charlie) all but guarantees to me that, if she's not in a coma (and I don't think she is) she's at least in some weird sort of dream-state. Or just severely traumatized by the explosion and unwilling to leave the house.

actually, Charlie doesn't seem surprised that she wants to leave. You think if he was married to someone afraid to leave the house he'd make a mention of it, not to mention if she's out with Billy all the time... that can't be it. There's something else going on there.

Best theory:
Judy is Major Garland Briggs.

It's great and it totally works. While this wasn't the case in Fire Walk With Me, the kettle seems to be avoiding calling Judy a "her" where it would sound more natural ("why don't you ask Judy yourself," "you've already met Judy") and that conversation already had absurdly high JPM.

If Bowie hadn't passed, you think he'd have shown up in that scene or would they have stuck with the smoke thing making numbers?
He would, just like Michael J. Anderson wouldn't evolve into a tree if he hadn't devolved into a bitter bigot.

That's been a theory for years. Judy Garland was the name of the actress that play Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz. In this case Briggs would be in the place of Dorothy.
Well, yeah, that's why it works, though I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone suggesting that Garland was Judy. People usually gravitate towards the scrapped Josie's sister idea (or, as always, more Palmer cousins).

OK, I've not read any of this thread since yesterday because I've not watched the episode yet so don't spoilt anything for me please.

I thought some people here said this week's episode was going to be 70 minutes long?

My copy (don't worry, I'll watch it on Sky Atlantic later in the week too) says 55 mins. Is that right or have I got a dodgy one?

The 70 minute rumor was because of a Sky TV error, I think? Either that or it was fabricated. You've got the full episode!

55 minutes is correct, people were wrong about the time

episode talk:
I think that overly long first scene really poisoned the well with regards to the Audrey scenes. As soon as she's on screen now people just go "ugh, this shit again" and sort of tune out. I think the Audrey stuff is some of the most interesting shit in the show right now, and can't wait to see how it pays off.

I know it's probably not needed by now, but just to confirm - the Russian summary spoilers are legit, and I realised that as soon as it opened with Nadine marching down the road.

So avoid, basically. Don't do what I did!

Watching for the second time, the Bowie voice is the shits. Even dubbing over historical footage doesn't help. I bet Glove Guy would have nailed it.

Speaking of Glove Guy - he's this season's Super Nadine. I don't dig it at all.

Something not being discussed - Norma doesn't have a family? But she does and it's Ed? Where's Annie???

Yep. It makes me sad that there's just a fortnight to go before we're done and it doesn't seem like it's been going for almost four months.

It's going to leave one hell of a void.

Season 3 has pretty much solidified Twin Peaks as my all time favorite show. Gonna miss looking forward to Sundays a lot.

I can safely say that it's joined the likes of The Simpsons, The Wire, and Breaking Bad as my top shows. My only worry is hoping they stick the landing. It's going to be really hard to be on par with season 2's and FWWM, but I hope they are up to the challenge.

Twin Peaks has gone full nightmare. That was a menacing ass episode. Pure atmosphere.

I think people waiting for "the ending" to start "ramping up" are missing the point. I think we are watching it right now. 14 was the start. I do not expect all of this to be neatly tied up or explained.

And I hope that Cooper fans will be able to revisit this one day and get more out of it. We will probably never see something like this on TV again, and I think the fact that it's named "Twin Peaks" is almost a negative.

Thats gotta be the end of dougie. I really hope we see a bit more of Janey E and Sonny Jim though once Cooper has gotten consciousness. Kyle McLachlan made dougie hilarious to watch and so likeable for what is essentially a robot.

Nice to see that Ed/Nadine/Norma plot resolved happil too. Not that things in this show necessarily need to wrap things up or anything but this really does give all that Nadine and Dr. Amp stuff we saw greater importance and neatly tie it together

James and One Punch Charlie was great. James was such a goober lol, I hope he didn't fuck things up with that girl tho.

Log lady actress got a beautiful exit, that was nice to see considering the circumstances.

Tim Roth and Jennifer Jason Leigh are so good in here. That convenience store shit was hella creepy, loved the whole atmosphere of the darker portions of the episode. Even that Audrey stuff is spooky in the sense that while the scenes are hilarious they have a sort of nightmare quality to them where she's stuck and can't seem to escape and the conversation is going nowhere

That charlyne yi scene with the music from the veils also started off pretty funny but got more anxious as it went. Dat strobe lighting too while she screamed gave strong Laura Palmer vibes

Fucking love this show right now. There really is nothing like it. Lynch da gawd

What better way to announce the return of Good Coop than with Sharp Dressed Man and the volume getting cranked up to the max via interactive chart?

Mmm so Naido is Judy?

Current front-runner theory is Judy is a code name for Garland Briggs. "Judy" Garland Briggs.

So all the roadhouse scenes are totally a "just in case" Twin Peaks S4 cast right?

Nah, they seem to be vignettes to paint a broader image of how the town has fallen apart. Some of it also seems to be tying up into whatever's going on with Audrey.

I'm not sure what a season 4 would cover. This one had major cliffhangers to answer (lol) and would always focus on two Coops. Not sure any of the new characters carry enough weight... although I'd be down for a Mitchum Bros spin off.

So happy to see my boy and resident terrifying bastard The Jumping Man back. I hope we get more.

Hot damn, I think this is the most torn I've ever been on a show.

This episode 15 really sung and spoke to me. Fantastic television and I really dug the ending. I'd say 50% of the episodes have missed the mark and 50% have been intriguing, dark and quite unlike anything I've seen this year.

And I'm one who wasn't a fan of episode 8.

So entirely ready for the final three
