Cryptocurrency |OT| Nothing from Money

It sounds silly, but people will need to put their belief in BCH. That will take a while.

Sure a decentralized structure is one of Bitcoin's core innovations that has lead to its immense value, but please put your faith in the centralized, Chinese controlled coin being entirely propped up by Jihan and his mining group. Tough sell.

Glad I sold BCH before I lost money. Can't believe how hard it got dumped.

Yeah, I'm really glad I sold most of mine after my last post on it. I still have some in it, but at least I had pulled most out. And while I did so after the downswing had started, at least it was on the higher end rather than now.

Theoretically? But you have to confirm each email address and it's a limited time offer...

Just saying. Don't have the time for this since i'm at work but some are going to exploit this easily.

Just took my 75 and hope i get 75 from my gf using my ref link :)

Anyone wanting to go into the TRON ICO on binance?

I really believe BNB will be a 10$ coin in the next fews weeks. As the exchange grows, so does the coin. You can't really go wrong with this one. If you factor in the shitshow with ENIGMA yesterday, only the more reason for BNB and Binance exchange to grow. They'll start to host ICO's on the exchange where everything is transparent and secure, adding value to both the exchange and coin.

I'm thinking this might be NEO 2.0 in terms of profit. Seriously guys. Get in on BNB. It's only at 2.50$. I already have a nice bag of them but will be adding more as soon as I can.

Did anyone else see this about NEO this morning? I just don't know what to think when the co-owner of Bitmain possibly controls a good portion of the coins from what has come out.

Imagine if it gets as high as GAS has, could be making some really good money. I bet on the 24th it does hit ATH but from there will the manipulators come in to toy with the pricing.

Yeah, I bought in at around $0.90 and have slowly been accumulating more since then. I think its gonna have a good week with all the new coins and ICOs they're adding. Binance is also going to start charging transaction fees on the 24th, but you get 50% discount on transactions for using BNB instead.

Seems like a no brainer to me, hopefully I'm not wrong.

I also got in around that price. Let's hope this takes off.

This last week with most of the alts in the red one gets easily concerned and I find myself thinking about ways to jump on promising coins but it's too much work and I suck at day trading. I have to stop looking at my portfolio every hour...

So what are the implications here? This co-owner guy is depressing the value of NEO so that he can buy more before he lets the floodgates loose and the value goes up?

What a long video with nothing of substance said. Whales are shaking the trees and accumulating. After NEO's meteoric rise, it's only normal and healthy to have a consolidation period like this. Unless we're in for a "scorched earth" scenario, I don't see NEO going below 30$. We're too gung ho on the "chinese ethereum" meme and people expect it to go to 300$ in 2 weeks...

Any rise from where we're at is welcome. I'm waiting for the 100$ per coin and think maybe we'll see it around october, after the first ICO using NEO.

Yup, they are shaking the trees really well and many people just freaking out and selling losing tons of money in the process.

If we even hit $100 with the release of the first ICO would be so awesome. $300 almost feels so ambitious, but anything is possible and look at DASH when they got added to Bitthumb, went up another $100.

I have faith it'll go beyond 100$ but we need to give it time. It's already the coin with the most profit % this year so let's not get too crazy. It's good that new money gets into crypto but all I see are people expecting 200% profit as soon as they put some money down.

This kind of mentality isn't good for the stability of the market. It's already heavily manipulated, the last thing we need are some weak hands who sell on a whim.

edit: Look at that, I'm not a junior anymore. This surely means the gods of crypto will smile on me this coming week.

90% people that I know sold their NEOs in the last few days....looks like I need new people to talk about trading and stuff :D

I've been talking with a lot of my friends about crypto and convinced a lot of them to take the plunge. A lot of people have heard about it but without anyone already inside the market to explain how everything works, most people still think it's too much of a hassle to get into.

I will probably take a risk and get some NEO when we will go near to 30 $. Unless they start pumping it earlier.

ARK is doing very well today.

I'm really stuck in a rock and hard place. I have around 100 coins of BNB, but I do feel it's going to have a good week with all the incoming coins.

But all my stuff is is locked in ARK, which is also rising.

Should I split half from ARK and send it to BNB?

Why is the mobile site of Bittrex still sooo bad.

Using the forced desktop mode is even better than the mobile part... Still not really smooth.

I hate having to make decisions like this since I'm a long term investor.

Depending on the amount of ARK you have and your objectives, I would do this:

- 1000+ ARK. Sell half and buy BNB.

- 500 ARK or less. Sell 80% and buy BNB.

I imagine you're looking for a good pump on BNB and selling it to go back in ARK?

If you just wanna split your holdings and wait, 50/50 is good with BNB pumping more short term.

Because of that I will take my laptop with me when I go to the spa for the first week of September :D

Probably not much regenerating and relaxing going to happen when you are going to follow red numbers on coinmarketcap.com all day :p

Has XRP finally came alive?

I managed to get a 4 star hotel with half board and unlimited pool access for 200 € for five days, so I will probably only check it in the morning and in the evening :p

talked in length with my dad about crypto, he is not willing to join to trading ("It is your money and invest only what you will be able to miss"), but he taught me some stuff about technical analysis

Yea, reading through the Reddit NEO forums and even on the FB page, these guys that keep begging to moon to ridiculous amounts just do not understand the implications that it has by doing that. We need a steady climb and I think maybe NEO has hopefully built some support here in the $33-$39 range, but now it is so hard to tell with some of this stupid manipulation that has been happening. This is the world of crypto and manipulation is the norm.

Right now I am 75% NEO, 25% BNB. I am waiting for OMG to get a little bit of pullback and I plan to hop back in on that. I took most of my profits from NEO, just going to hold tight with those.

I've learned some lessons this past week with some of my stupid day trading that I plan to not make again. LOL!

I've been trying my hand at day trading with small amounts and I can more or less sell at the top of the pump. Problem is knowing when to buy back in. Still can't get that right.

I'm thinking about doing something similar but with AVA but I have too much to lose. I've finally got to 20k on my portfolio and I can't deal with the risk of losing it all if things go wrong.

For long term, I think I'm pretty much set. I might break 50k by EOY but watching all these good opportunities to increase my holdings really doesn't help my peace of mind.

I only do very short term trades unless we're in a confirmed bear market. My approach for buying back in when I successfully sold high, is to start off with an idea in mind of where I think the price will fall to. If it keeps moving in that direction without resistance, then I watch it go. If it gets hung up after falling a bit, even if it's nowhere near my target, I've had most success with just cutting it off there and buying back in early. In periods of low volume trading, the longer you wait for the price to move, and it doesn't, usually means the price is going to change direction for at least a little bit before trying again. Sometimes it falls more after bouncing, but even if it does, with this approach I'm usually able to increase my stack so it's a win no matter what.

Are they pumping Ripple next? That is the biggest spike in the recent history

Got some BNB...small amount, but let it sit for a while :)

What timeframe do you use on the candlesticks?

I'm okay with buying in early if I made some profit already. I try to completely suppress my greedy instincts. However, I'm still buying way too early. If I can perfect this I'll think I'll be able to make some nice returns with more significant positions.

All set, went with option A and split my ARK. Just bought in to BNB

For short-term trades, I cycle between the 1, 3, 5, and 15m time frames, watching at least the GDAX and Bitfinex ETHUSD charts on cryptowat.ch, because that's what I'm trading presently. I also have an eye on a ETHBTC pair, and 1 or more BTCUSD pairs, as they can often lead in price movements for ETHUSD. When trading, most often I'm looking at the 3m charts, but cycle between the others to try to confirm my conclusions from the 3m charts. If the price has been moving in the same direction for a while, I start looking at the 1H and 4H charts to try to identify a larger reversal trend. When not actively trading, I usually have it on 15m. When trying to determine whether I should be trading or long-term holding, I look mostly at the 1D charts. RSI can be a helpful indicator for deciding when to trade. And when I'm out of my position, I'm glued to my computer until I'm back in.

I try to trade in periods of medium to low volume. In high volume, I can't get my orders in fast enough to catch what I want, while in very low volume, the profit often isn't worth the time investment and I find it harder to read the slow movements.

BNB is already rising

Is ripple even pumpable? Even litecoin shows more life signs than ripple :)

I do not know, it went from 0.13 $ to 0.18$ in one hour but now is dropping down. But I haven't seen it so high on Bittrex volume list for a long time

Brandson, thanks for the info. I'll try implementing your strategies and see how it goes.

Good luck. Note that I am also very conservative when it comes to trading. I deliberately miss lots of opportunities that I deem to be too risky, but also only rarely end up with a smaller stack as a result of my trades.

Hey GAF, I'm totally new to this. How bad of an idea would it be to get buy a bit of something on Coinbase to get my feet wet and not transferring it over to a wallet yet?

Coinbase is pretty safe. If you have some success and your portfolio grows a ton, you can transfer to a wallet then.

How are you guys buying BNB? I'm assuming it's only tradeable on Binance, but I can't actually sign up because their poorly translated site doesn't actually accept my password at signup.

Thanks, I signed up but now realized they only do BTC, ETH and LTC.

How safe is Bittrex? I'm more interested in currencies like ARK, etc

Yup it's through Binance. Try using Chrome to see if it will translate the site for you.

I've got most of my holdings on Bittrex (since early July), but the value is getting to the point where I probably should move it to a wallet. But first I need to get over my fear that I'll screw something up and lose my coins during the transfer.
