This is an extremely cool concept. Some of you seem sad and bitter for no reason. I would've killed for a Final Fantasy VII downport back in the day.

That's... kinda cool actually.
FFXV as a whole is one of the strangest AAA releases of this generation. Just baffling but it has been a fun ride honestly, I love this entire flawed mess. Now gimme XV-2 starring Iris, Aranea and Gentiana as pop singers.

GAF at it's worst right now. Defending an abomination like this and always spitting on Assassin's Creed Origins and Ubisoft whenever a new thread comes out.

Sometimes people enjoy different things. I don't care too much for Pocket Edition myself but other people are entitled to.

Comical how Square can continue to reiterate whatever game they want into as many versions as possible. I'm sure it makes them good money, but I'll wait for the Ti-84 version

I'm ok with a conversion that takes a significant graphical downgrade but the aesthetic they decided to land on with this is repulsive, IMO.

This is a great idea with bad visual execution is basically my take.

Wow, that looks genuinely terrible. I understand the need for diversification as a business and for extending franchises to new audiences, but it's becoming increasingly clear that SE is reaching for that audience without a mind for deference to what made the series such a massive name in the first place.

Sad part is I could see this business model working out for them. Here's hoping Final Fantasy doesn't go the way of Breath of Fire.

GAF IS at its worst right now. It's a video game. It's not hurting anyone. If you're not interested, then move on. If you want better graphics, then go preorder the 8K HDR edition.

Not to mention this and DQXI are a great solution to Japan's console game problem.

The gameplay doesn't seem so bad. The character models remind me of the higher quality chibi cutscene models used in FF7 that weren't the cg full size models.

Edit: Watching the trailer, I could totally see this being the Switch version. It kind of reminds me of I am Setsuna too.

Square Enix is gunning for casual gamers, plain and simple. VII Remake is the game for old nostalgic gamers. They're being very smart businesswise. And they kind of have to be—Japan is cutthroat these days.

DQXI has been handled in a much classier manner than this game. It's not comparable.

Think the graphics are ugly? They revealed an ultra graphic PC version yesterday.

Hmm. I like it, I just wish it were an all new FF spinoff game in this style, not just FFXV all over again. Does put a dent in my interest. Still likely to snatch it at some point though.

Wish the faces animated too.

It's not about the graphics. I just wish we could stop the double standard with Ubisoft here.

Oh my god... those faces...

Edit: I actually liked Final Fantasy XV a lot, so I think this is a cool alternative. I wonder if it's only the story or it has a lot of the post-story content.

This actually..... looks fun. At least it no longer has shit camera the original has. I want to know if the stupid AoE still friendly fires.

I...I think I'm going to skip the HD version and get this instead. That way the messed up story doesn't look like it takes itself seriously, and I can treat this like some cartoon.
