I genuinely don't understand the love for 17. I always thought he was kind of a doorknob in DBZ. Is he like super cool in Dragon Ball Super?
Anyway, I am crazy amped for this game, and Android 16 looks crazy awesome.

The original english dub butchered his characterization. The trunks OAV also didn't do him any favor.
17 is Super is not much different from his real canon self, just more mature.
He's alright. He does some pretty cool stuff in the most recent story arc. Slaythe is just into the character to sort of a weird extent.

I'm actually more pissed about the fact that they didn't bother to give him his own moves. Obviously nobody could want him in the game seeing his assist is literally 18 with black hair. Which isn't at all how he fights in the show. :/

There are a lot of very dedicated 17 fans by the way, that I met over the past few weeks.
Look, if we want things to change with DLC or whatever, it's now while they still have time.

This game needs Dragon Ball stuff if they want moves that aren't all energy beams/spheres/discs/etc. DB was where the most inventive moves came from.
That's why we need Tenshinhan. That whole character was a treasure chest of batshit moves that were only used like once (in the manga).

Even Kid Goku justifies an inclusion with how different he fights from adult Goku.
Yeah, he's got so much to pull from. I want a level 3 where he propels himself with a one-handed Kamehameha through a dude's torso.

DBZ 17 was sacrificed so we could get one of ASW's trademark puppet characters. I think that's a fair trade, but then again, I'm not that invested in the character.
Just the Powerpole alone would make him stand out in this game.

Wasnt this game in development since mid 2015? 17 wasnt relevant/ nor had a unique moveset.

There's two problems right now.
1) he's a puppet, okay. I can understand the gameplay aspect, and a ToP "costume" could swap their places, since 18 is very lame compared to 17 in Super, this is where you stand, i disagree but this is fine.
2) 17 fights like 18 and doesn't have any of his attacks from the show, they made him shorter and used 18's animations on his body. This is NOT ok.
Wait until the inevitable Super Dragonball FighterZ.

Been intermittently refreshing this page throughout the day and it finally just loaded for me, albeit on an all white background with plain text, so clearly not everything loaded, but I was able to fill out the info and click submit. Got literally one line of plain text saying "Thank you for signing up for the DRAGON BALL FighterZ closed beta. If selected for participation, we will notify you via email.". I don't like my odds.
