Street Fighter V |OTVIIII| New Generation - Fighting Game Is Something So Great

Reposting for new page:

X-Kira has good taste btw, he's set his profile picture to the staff wielding lady from Ed's Story mode.

And according to X-Kira, Zeku causes this status: https://twitter.com/Killbawx/status/904179400756879360

What if V-Cancel (assuming it's still real) is pretty much a copy-paste RRC and that's the effect?

Also 54 characters seems crazy. Not getting SFVI until probably 2023 sounds even crazier, given all the "lol SFV is dead" posts on literally every site.

Maybe, but they probably have a lot on their plate promoting the MvCI release this month too.
I'd believe that if there was any hint that anybody was attempting to market MvCI at all.

People saying sfv is dead are the same people who say they hate the game but then tune in for a tournament or boot up the game on the sly

To be fair, Balrog's Vs. Screen Likes are Money, Women, and Bourbon so he has three personality traits.

Four if you count his secret trait of loving Ed-kun.

If E.Honda got a chance to be in SFV then he'd grow a personality too.

Turns out he loves skydiving and trained one of the newcomers in Season 5.

According to the SF wiki E. Honda is friends with Hakan, Rufus, and Sodom. Honda's storyline can be that they form a supergroup of characters that are never going to be playable in SFV.

I couldn't find it anywhere either. Ended up with the HRAP 4 Kai black from amazon uk. Right now is around £105. Pretty good price.
Yeah, I saw that. They also have a deal that gives you £10 off making it an even better deal.

I read the review of the coloured version on SRK though and it looks like they have useful (if small) upgrades on the original. But probably not enough for me to cover the cost of importing.

Though Sodom almost made it in, so...

I'd actually love if Sodom made it in the game. He's like the only Alpha character who hasn't been playable in a 3D Street Fighter (if you don't count the Upper characters). Plus, he has a unique fight style and his CFN design is actually pretty cool.

He's also one of the best parts of the best stage in SFxT/USF4.

.

For both of our sakes, let's hope the trend continues next month.

And I'm fucking tired of Laura. I need a 100% foolproof way to beat this damn character. I'm gonna dedicate the near future solely to messing this character up.

lmaooo grats on 3rd again as well. I need an answer for Zangief because that MU is fucked (iDom doesn't count)

Guile doesn't beat Zangief the way he should. I don't have a Sim.. birdie might work hmm

I skimmed through that vid. Nothing about it suggests anything Satsui Ryu related is coming. If there was an Ashura Senku or Shakunetsu in there, I'd NeoGAF Believe, but otherwise I think that's just Kira making too many assumptions.

Yeah, I did as well. Of course, if there's going to be two V-Triggers making one of Ryu's VTs turning him into Evil Ryu is a no brainer. It would be interesting if it activated on KO like Gill's RESURRECTION! super (but then no one would ever pick Denjin Mode VT if that were the case).

I actually think they will milk SFV for YEARS considering how well it's doing in the e-sports scene. I also won't be surprised at all if they slowly release the game on other platforms and given how successful the Switch is thus far (as well as doing very well with UE4 games), I think it might be the first one. All this of course depends on negotiating a deal with Sony.

Ahhh someone said it's just Ryu with his hands open during v-trigger so it's not really confirmed to be evil ryu.

Dangggg

Capcom seems to strip any hard evidence of future updates in their patches so you're never going to get something huge like concrete proof of Evil Ryu in the game. The stuff X-Kira bases his informed guesses on our text references to things like new costumes for existing characters or stages. Capcom uses generic names for all the character files now after the PC beta leaked the entire S1 roster. For whatever reason, they don't seem to do the same with new stages so those guesses have more evidence supporting them in the game.

I think what can be conclusively said about SFV from all the datamining is that their seems to be a lot of things in the work for the game's future. Whether or not this results in an SSFV or an arcade release remains to be seen. They could just dole out all this stuff piecemeal like they're currently doing.

I don't feel like this is likely, to be honest. Companies are extremely reticent to say anything concrete about exclusivity but with SFV Capcom has been pretty clear that Street Fighter V won't ever appear a non-Sony console. Maybe Sony signed something like a 5 year exclusivity period or a "current gen" exclusivity period but it seems more like that SFV is stuck on Sony systems for good.

I feel like if SFV is going to go to anything else it's going to be in the arcade or the PS5 if that isn't fully backwards compatible with the PS4 from the get go.

Depending on when the new gen of consoles come up, I predict we might see a new SF by either 2021 or 2022.

I figure we'll get another PS3/360 length of time with the current gen because they're already doing incremental upgrades. Plus, if SFV goes the distance with Capcom's plan and is still pumping out seasons in 2020 then they'll need at least a year or so off before SF6 so people don't get burn out. That is if Capcom learned their lesson with SF4 because casuals won't be interested in a sequel to a game that's only stopped getting updates like a year ago.

I won't deny that tons of casual content is a big part of why NRS is successful but they're also smart enough to not keep updating their games for years and years. They do MK for a few years and then switch off with Injustice for a few years to keep the casual audience enticed. Now, I would hate if Capcom took that approach with their games because I love playing the same games for years but the NRS method seems to help launch sales tremendously.

Capcpom learning from their competitors, let alone from their own past?

LOL

I wonder if maybe those four new NPC slots X-Kira found could be additional enemies for Extra Battle. "FIR" and "ELC" probably represent "fire" and "electric." There just so happen to be four Shadaloo Troopers, two of which use fire and electricity.

ELC - Arkane
FIR - Khyberi
B00 - Blade
BNN - F7

Yeah, I could see that. I don't remember where I saw the rumor about it but those extra NPC or characters could be for Illuminati mode.

That's a spot-on assessment. IIRC, those profiles were released before the Cinematic Story Mode and I thought it was extremely bizarre you didn't fight these guys in it. It seemed like a decent way to pad the NPC roster without having to create a ton of new moves.

I have a doubt about 2021 season pass but 50 characters roster is likely tho.

Yep, pretty much this. After Fei Long the rest of the SF2 characters are complete trash.

But you actually support Alex so let not be double standard :kappa:

True, without knowing what the actual deal is behind the scenes it's really difficult to predict where this title will go in the future. As you said though, most likely it will be PS/PC exclusive with simply an arcade port release.

I won't deny that tons of casual content is a big part of why NRS is successful but they're also smart enough to not keep updating their games for years and years. Casual content really helps NRS games sell to the initial casual crowd but most people drop off a cliff after a few months. With Injustass 2 they tried to battle this with their own pro circuit with $600K at stake (same as SFV I believe) yet it's still failing to gain traction among the FGC. It also doesn't help that their balance is always a mess.

Even if SFV had A R C A D E mode, weekly challenges etc. during launch it still wouldn't have made as much of a difference to sales in comparison to NRS games simply because Warner Bros. is a juggernaut as opposed to Capcom and they will do anything with their cash to keep that bottom line flowing.

Mika's V-skill is actually half-way decent in some matchups since S2. It was definitely pointless in S1 though.

Since it's buff, yeah it actually has some use.

But it can be seen from a mile away and is EASILY punishable even from even full screen. You can only use it when your opponent has no meter and is 100 miles away.

I only use it troll.....
