Rockstar Games Announces 4 New Versions of L.A. Noire coming November 14, 2017

I don't see large sales of this at full price, and to think that Rockstar is now "friends" with Nintendo..

If capcom can charge premium for USF2 and Bethesda can charge full price for Skyrim i dont see why R* cant charge full price for LA Noire as well. It's up to people to buy it or not judging by their necessities. It is a brand new game for nintendo only owners after all.

The Switch version not having visual upgrades is pretty lame.

lame is GAFs insistance on wanting parity between Switch and X1/PS4 releases

Would that even be expected? I dialled back to see how the originals ran and they didn't really hold performance at 720p back then. With the Switch's Skyrim (albeit a derivative of the Special Edition) being 720p, it wouldn't have surprised me that this would have been the case here. And 720p is the native for the screen, so not a big deal I would say.
Did you forget about docked mode? Yes 1080p would be expected when docked for a last gen port.

They just announced the X and Pro are getting upgrades. The game visually still holds up and I'd argue you already have a definitive version with the PC version.
Exactly, which is why gesture controls and fleshed out hd rumble are bigger boons. The game getting a portable version that has more "gameplay" features is worth picking up over a pc downport that changes nothing.

If their strategy is to sell remaster of most of their old games it makes sense to start with the one people are only moderately interested instead of GTA or Red Dead.

This is true. Like a few people have said, this is probably just testing the waters.
Oh well, games are good news! Looking forward to seeing how plays.

this but no midnight club?

Holy shit, yes!

Would have loved additional content but I'll definitely buy this one again. Was already gorgeous on Xbox 360.

Gonna get some weird looks if you decide to play some of the Homicide cases in public on your Switch.

I'm in. Been meaning to replay this after watching the TBFP LP.

Eh true it is pretty cliche. But this is essentially an adventure game.

but people say that for everything
not harping on you by the way, i just think is funny when the posts start appearing. its alright to be excited for new games

not any weirder than watching a gritty cop movie on any portable device.
it's not like the nudity in LA Noire is sexualized in any sense

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
I like how they include Nintendo Switch, even though it won't have the same graphical 'standard'. I hope it sells well enough to send a signal that games will be bought, even if the graphics are lesser in comparison to other versions.

I mean there are also big differences between PS4/XBX..and OneX/PS4 Pro nowaydays. Thats just how it is with new releases and multiple SKUs.

Doesn't sound like Rockstar to port this to Switch at all either.

Take 2 said early on that they were on board and will bring games to Switch if possible....this was probably one of the earliest Rockstar games they could justify for the console this year.

If the game can run on Switch and sell some copies Rockstar wont skip the system just out of spite.

It's a last gen remaster and not exclusive. So no.

....this was a joke comment based on Nintendo not having announced a big first Party Switch release for November yet,

Should have made it more obvious i guess xD

I'd be tempted to re-buy it on Switch if the price is right. There are plenty of things wrong with the game, but it also genuinely tried to do some interesting stuff, to varying degrees of success.

I still think it's madness to port this to Switch rather than GTA V, but I suppose this is probably the cheaper port, especially given the lack of an online component.

Yeah I fell off it the first time when a suspect I was chasing jumped in a car, knocked over 3 or 4 people with a rampant display of reckless driving and when I caught him and asked the questions I needed to ask per the quest he was let go - the 4 people he killed/maimed/injured be damned. Broke the illusion of being a policeman for me.

The open world did this game no favours as far as I am concerned. Not the remaster or whatever this is I would have wanted from Rockstar.

I'm probably not gonna get this as I played it and all of the DLC when it first came out. I wish they ported RDR instead of this though.

Worst kept secret and all. Very curious about Switch version and what it'll look like. Wording makes it look like a port rather than a visually enhanced version.

I don’t remember this doing so hot when it came out originally. What an odd choice.

It actually did quite well. Not GTA numbers, of course, but a new IP doing nearly a million in its first month is nothing to sneeze at.

Max Payne 3, on the other hand, was definitely a big commercial disappointment.

If it visually isn't as impressive as what the X, Pro, or PC has then it's kind of an inferior experience. Normally I don't say graphics matter, especially for Switch ports. But a game where the majority of it's gameplay is looking closely at character faces, graphics have to matter in this situation, especially outside of interrogating people is pretty mediocre. I don't see gyro aiming improving the combat which was completely unnecessary in the game.

Idk, fuck it, I hope it looks good on Switch. I wouldn't mind playing that version out of curiosity.

I liked L.A. Noire, but it's not really the kind of game I'd want to replay.

well its a "mystery" game of sorts. any game like that loses replay value when you finish it the first time. still great for those who missed it or never played the DLC cases like me (which apparently were well received)
