This is great timing I just started my job as a forklift driver in Shenmue for what seems like the 100th time.

Easily my favourite console of all time.

Going to spend most of the weekend trudging through Danganonpa 2 but im definitely getting in some Dreamcast time today.

Probably Bomberman Online, Starlancer, and Tokyo Extreme Racer 2. Maybe a bit of CvS1 as well.

It's crazy that it's already been over 8 years since the 9-9-09 Dreamcast 2 meme...

Soon our memes will be older than our juniors

This damn console. It's seriously the one I enjoyed the most.

I guess it was because of it's arcade nature, and it's perfect ports, but I spent a lot of time with friends playing arcade games in this. So many good memories...

And that Sega input.... they went with everything creating a lot of fresh and original IPs.

I still remember when I got mine as a surprise gift with Sonic Adventure and Sonic Shuffle 😢

Also remember how it took a fucking year to finally find a copy of MvC2 😂

Seeing games with that kind of image quality/resolution was still mind blowing coming off the back of N64 and Playstation. Just felt like more than a generational leap at the time. Soul Calibur and NFL 2K were jaw droppers.

This console has a special place in my heart because it remind me of better times in my life. It also has various games i consider too much fun to pass over them. Its just has that arcade feeling that i love so much. These are my favorites, and i still play them!

Cannon Spike
Super Magnetic Neo
Power Stone 2
Chu Chu! Rocket
Toy Commander
Project Justice
Zombie Revenge
Spawn in The Demonds Hand
Dynamite Cop

So good.

Such fond memories of this thing, I got it as a kid instead of a PS2 after I saw the advert in an Argos magazine. I have no idea why I made that decision, but I'm so glad i did or I probably wouldn't have experienced it otherwise.

It was already dead when I got it, so all the games were suuuuper cheap. Soul caliber, Soul Reaver, Sonic Adventure, Jet Set Radio, and who can forget, CRAZY TAXI.

Absolutely. My favourite console too.

It may have only lasted a couple of years, but it seemed there were at least one or two great original games a month for it coming out. Nothing else has equalled that for me before or since. So good.

Lost so much track of time playing Soul Calibur, Power Stone, Space Channel 5 and Crazy taxi!!!
Ahhh the memories. If only the random dreamcast I bought for ten bucks at a pawn shop actually worked

One of my fondest gaming-related memories is opening up and playing my Dreamcast on Christmas Day, along with copies of Sonic Adventure, Power Stone and SoulCalibur. The generational leap at the time was incredible, and the way the colours popped off the screen had me in a daze. Also didn't hurt that I was in absolute love with all three of those games. Playing three masterpieces at (near) launch and on the same day was pure euphoria. Still regard Power Stone as a top ten all-time fav too. Sank so many hours into that game, and it never stopped being fun. Such a great concept and cast of characters that are just going to waste now.

Also, Ryuichi Sakamoto's start-up jingle is still the best thing he's ever put his name to. Totally eclipses his entire Yellow Magic Orchestra catalogue.

THIS.

New hardware that felt totally new. A leap forward. I remember people saying that graphics couldn't get much better, especially after Shenmue was released.

I've never played a Dreamcast, but I've enjoyed games that were ported from it (Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online, Sonic Adventure, etc). My brother got one for free about a decade ago but he never plugged it in lol

I thank the Dreamcast for reintroducing me to Sonic thus making me a Sonic fan, and for being my gateway to Power Stone 2.
