IGN - NBA 2K18 graphics comparison: Nintendo Switch vs. PS4 Pro vs. Xbox One S

What resolution does the game run at on PS4 Pro? That footage was recorded in 1080p. Is that the most it can do on Pro?

Holds up pretty well. Switch also has the inherent advantage of being portable as well, so it has that as a reason you'd get it over the other versions.

60fps would've been killer too - hopefully it's technically possible to patch that in later, though I'd understand if it weren't possible.

Been looking forward to footage from the Switch version to see how the console compares for cross-platform titles. The little engine that could!

I'm guessing XBO and PS4 are close enough that they could be considered the same version? lol I don't know, it's weird. No PC either.

Haha, I think the main point of this video was just to show how the Switch version held up, not to actually be a thorough comparison video.

Nvidia has got to be feeling pretty good about this. I doubt they'd get to see the Tegra chipset used for something like this if it wasn't for the NS.

Yeah, two birds with one stone by showing off X1S. Likewise, PS4 Pro gives an idea of how the X1X will hold up.

i own it, lower quality models, alot less detail, 30 fps... If we are judging this as a handheld, fine.
But to give this a pass for what we would crucify the PS4/X1 is just crazy to me... I own the X1 version as well, not the PS4 version so i cant speak on this. But it does not hold up well to the main two consoles ps4/x1, it holds up well if you lower your standards.
If the pS4/X1 got the pass the switch gets for bland, low detailed models/world, and low FPS... then almost every game would be equally amazing to its PC or PS4 Pro counterpart.

The X1 s/PS4 are close, the PS4 Pro and X1X are not close if they choose to actually use the power. So its not how it will hold up, it should show the least it can do.

it gets a pass? Switch just isn't very strong

almost all the switch games have been drilled for their graphics except Mario Rabbids and MK8D. This includes Zelda and Odyssey.

Switch version doesn't even have camera flashes?
dang, are they that intensive?

edit:
okay the flashes are pretty dumb anyway so dunno what they were going for.

Look at your Switch. Note the size. Now look at a PS4.

Giving it a pass? The fact the game looks as well as it does compared to the competition is an ACHIEVEMENT. What are you talking about?

???

Not everything is so literal.

Switch < Current Gen < Current Gen+.

A native 4K signal and maybe some higher quality bokeh isn't going to matter for the purposes of this Youtube video. X1X games are going to be in the ballpark of the Pro because they're still working with PS4/X1 games, even if the X1X version will look better. That said, it's nice to see how the Switch holds up to the higher end.

That's the thing tho, you HAVE to lower your standards, Switch is a beast when you consider its form and size lol.

Considering the Switch is the size of a small tablet......

That is really insane when you think about it. All that in a portable and I can get a pretty damn close experience. I'm waiting on the retail version next month but I am very excited! 2K on the go (or in bed) is awesome.

You have 51 posts and like 30 of them are bashing all things Switch.

Watching the side by side footage i think it holds up really well. For me its the framerate thst is the killer. But again as everyone says trade off is you can play on the go.

I rather have 60fps than graphics. They could have lowered the polygon count or something. It's a sports game and you rarely see characters super up close.

They could have gone with the FIFA approach: 30fps up close and 60fps during gameplay.

Switch version looks great. Some little quirks, like no DOF, clothes physics, camera flashes, i hope they can patch that later.
