Street Fighter V |OTVIIII| New Generation - Fighting Game Is Something So Great

can people really not tell the difference between light and medium/fierce?

cause with light, gief just barely jumps, and also there's the fact that you prolly got grabbed from a kilometer away with light SPD, not so much with medium/fierce

to find a match i had to set connection quality to any. suffered through 3 matches with unplayable lag on my side only. still no handshake icon. what a fucking ill thought out system. treat all your customers as rage quitters until they suffer enough bs to get some icon

Are you getting P2P connections or are you being connected via the servers? You'll either get a 2 dot (good) or 3 dot (bad) icon on the vs screen, depending on the connection type. It sounds to me like you're connecting via the servers, as that would explain why all your matches are bad.

You can check this without having to actually joining a match by enabling fight request and disabling auto-accept, and then looking at the correction bars, or by joining geographically close battle lounges, and seeing the connection bars there. If all you see are 3 bar corrections and below, then you are likely using server connections.

In that case, you need to make sure that you've setup port forwarding correctly.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone do medium SPD in an actual match. It's usually either light, heavy or EX. You do heavy when you're so close you can make out with them, and you do light when you're either at potentially max range or when you're unsure of the spacing. Going for medium SPD just seems like an unnecessary risk spacing wise since light will definitely hit anyway.

I think i'll play Fang from now on. I'm already used to suffering and losing, might as well do it with some annoying goofball

So I've been labbing around with Necalli and Ed as of late. Necalli just so I keep all of his stuff in my muscle memory, and Ed because I've been challenging myself to consistently piano his cr. mk xx hands (I bought a mini Hori as a first-time stick user just for Ed). I'm thinking of adding Bison to that list, watched a new character guide recently uploaded that really inspired me.

Some people (like me) just don't play ranked a lot. But they do play either offline or in lounges, so when they hit up ranked again, they have far more experience than their league would allude to.

you wont be able to play online without extreme lag until the game deems you not a rage quitter
Well, I'm not so hopefully that doesn't take too long, lol.
Very active so go ahead!
Good deal.
If you meet bad people online it's just cause they play Ken
Hopefully they don't play him with that costume that gives him the terrible haircut. Yeah! I seen it.
Very active and $40 is good if you mean the deal that includes both passes.
Man I've had this game since launch and still am like "Super Bronze" at my all-time best. Plenty of casuals.

The 40 dollar deal is crazy, you'll rack up enough FM playing single player stuff with all those characters to basically pay for the next season's characters in full, on top of a shit ton of story costumes and basically all the stages.
Yeah, it's the $40 one which does seem really good. Thanks for the replies!

I want to see a overhaul of light normals in S3. Have every character have a 3f normal on the ground.

Lights should only be +1 OB instead +2 or +3. The entire meta with lights is doing tick throws and shimmies.

If a Laura player loves to do her throw after every blocked LK, the player on defense can press their 3f normal and CH into a medium. If the Laura player catches it, they will have to do their frame traps after the blocked light.

Switched to Birdie. As Fang every match turns into projectile spamming, not my style unfortunately. He's fun, but the matches are sooo boring

I give Birdie about 10 minutes before dropping him as well

Not worth getting into a fireball war, since all Ryu needs to do is one heavy tatsu to get in. It's another story that he does no damage and has no pressure and you need to fuck up 20 times in one round for him to win but that's another story. Not really a "fireball war" matchup.

Similar to Ryu, only if he gets you in the corner you're fucked and if he gets one hit/jumpon you it's corner carry and shimmy city. Pressure works well on Ken though since he has no 3-frame jab allowing you to go for beefier frametraps.

Yeah this shit is a bit of a toss. He has the mixups and damage output to certainly close the round off of one jump in if he has V-Trigger but he also has solid fireballs. Basically you just use your fireballs to keep distance and then get in with your heavy upballs cancel into EX slide.

Oh this is for sure a fireball heavy war. You basically want to stay at a full screen away so that you can use your trap to nullify all his fireballs while occasionally doing the heavy balls into EX slide. Alternatively, Guile will absolutely dominate you if he's engaging in this fireball war at a mid range since his fireballs have too little recovery for you to reliably keep up. Also has no 3-frame button so you can go for heavier frametraps. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Guile vs FANG is the most boring non-mirror match in the fucking game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHU5TcF-2wg

haha, nice! Ya I turned off the background music a while ago in favor of spotify so I only heard it for the first time a few weeks ago but loved it.

I decided to rank up an alt yesterday just so I could have a stress free ranked account near my regular one; I'm probably not the only one. I feel bad but I'll be out of there soon enough. Oh and I play Ken :D (gonna go switch to Battle Outfit with white shoes now).

Kinda funny how in S1 the characters everybody said were strong (Ryu, Chun, Nash) were dominating for most of the year yet the strong characters in S2 (Boxer, Laura, Urien) get like no results.

F.A.N.G in S1 made 9th at Capcpom Cup.
It took Xian forever to squeeze every last drop out of FANG, this is month one GO1 still miss-spacing dive kicks, lacking match ups and dropping confirms and combos going against players using their mains 2 years into the game's life!

Only one top player was using Urien, and he did win two very stacked tournaments almost free before the nerf! Laura and Urien aren't top tier now though.

Boxer is kinda the same but you can see how much of a top tier he is by comparing Boxer players S1 results to their S2 results, starting with Smug.

Why do people make these goddamn things.
Better question is why Turbanator keeps forcing us to see them.

Says more about GO1 than it does about the character not being ass tbh.

I hope they fix the lobbies for SFV. I wanna have lobbies with EU peeps and show off my scrubby AF Birdie.

I'm not into that stuff.

My fetishes are too depraved to be on this site.
My fetishes are somewhat standard tbh. Well except for one I guess.

It does say that he did better
on average ;p
with month one Menat than he did with Chun, Ibuki and 2.0 Guile. :D

It's her V-Trigger that says she's not ass though, not GO1's performance.

Screenshot of what lobby looks like and things you can apparently do
ID search, multiple simultaneous matches, training mode, spectate.

The lobbies in MvCi are looking good in terms of functionality. Thought it would end up like T7's online capabilities at this point. Hopefully they implement the simultaneous matches, training and a message system for SFV too.
