Power Rangers fighting scenes were from a Japanese series?

You know what else was sweet? When the Red Ranger used the Green Ranger's chest thing and flute. I remember him tearing shit up with the flute/sword combo. Totally bad ass.

Heh, I remember as a lil' kid I used to go apeshit when that happened:

"Oh man, green and red together! omg this is awesome! You're about to get your butt kicked *insert monster name*!"

Hah, awesome. I wasn't a regular watcher of the new shows or anything, but I don't think either of the new stuff comes close to the original cast and series. That stuff is just classic.

*plays the godly dragon flute theme*

Haha, sweet.

I actually remember the ep from the pic you posted with the heart thing. I remember it like ate all the other Rangers or something...

Each iteration of the show is based on a different sentai series so when you see them change outfits and robots, that means they ran out of footage from one series and decided to make a new one =b. Current Power Rangers run as long as the JP counterparts and use footage only from that series. No more costume switching and etc.

Power Rangers actually has a consistent universe to it and which all the series tie together in one manner or the next. Power Rangers -> Power Rangers Zeo -> Power Rangers Turbo -> In space -> Lost Galaxy -> Lightspeed Rescue -> Timeforce -> Wild Force -> Ninja Storm -> Dino Thunder in that order. The linear progression of the series ends with the last episode of In Space (which actually ties up many of the loose ends that the writers wrote up in previous Mighty Morphin Power Ranger season) Then Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Timeforce, and Wildforce are supposed to overlap a little in occurences IIRC.

Too much I can talk about ;p.

Holy shit, the Rangers caused a heart attack.

Heh heh, that cracked me up.

<Zordon> The five of you will need to blah blah blah. <Billy>...There used to be six.

Sad.

Now that you described everything, I remember why I hated Zeo so much- they kept dicking around with the stupid Gold Ranger shit, and it only wound up being Jason.

The last few episodes of Space were simply fantastic. It was rewarding to see every little plotline solved. Years and years of watching the show, and I was getting older, so I was losing my patience. But In Space was really where everything wrapped up so... nicely. After you saw the episodes, you would just say "Ahh... now THAT's a satisfying ending."

And then they started the Lost Galaxy series which, I thought, sucked. And now they've changed every single year. Echck.

Aww, I now have to go to Best Buy and buy the DVD!

NOTE: Pokemon arrived right after In Space ended. Pokemon better have some epic Pokemon battle where Team Rocket steal Pikachu for more than three episodes and every damn hero comes back. Because it just needs to happen.

Ok, where does the Aqua Rangers come into play or whatever?

They were after the Ninja folks and before Zeo?
The rangers from Aquatar, known as the "Alien Rangers' here in the states, took over for the original Power Rangers once they were turned into children, and the Power Coins were destroyed, leaving them powerless.

The show even took on a new title during this time, and the song was changed to: "GO GO ALIEN RANGERS". It was kinda lame, but still interesting. While the Alien Ranger saga was going on, the Power Rangers were each individually searching for their piece of the Zeo Crystal in order to regain their powers.

Actually, David Trueheart in the show was actually Jason David Frank's real brother O_O. He died in 2001 though.
I did not know that. That's really odd because I always thought he looked nothing like Frank in the series. What did he die from?

Sad.

Yeah the Gold Ranger saga went on forever. But I was happy with the end result (Jason getting the powers). Eventually though the whole Gold Ranger fiasco became exactly like the Green Ranger saga, where Jason was slowing losing his powers similar to how Tommy was losing his during MMPR.

I loved that episode. I always thought Jason looked better with the Power Shield on than Tommy. :) There was also an episode where Tommy gave the Power Shield to Zack IIRC.

I hated the Alien Rangers. Well, more of the fact that they never had a working MegaZord. Just a bunch of tiny Zords.

And if everyone's power coin was destroyed, then why is Jason in Forever Red? And if they were gonna do something like that, why not bring back their Zords for that episode (even though Jason would have 4 to choose from the MM era).

Well the Power Coin morphers still work, even without a Power Coin, though it's dangerous and can't be done for a long period.

Adam did the same thing when he came back during PRIS, and used the MMPR Black Ranger morpher without a Power Coin. Alpha warned against using it; that it could destroy him if he tried to stay morphed for too long:

"The Power Coins were destroyed, which means morphing could destroy you."

Adam ended up using it anyway however, and he was able to stay morphed for a good 15-20 minutes. After that, the powers wore off, and it apparently was painful.

Jason seemed to be able to morph fine however without any type of complication, and TJ also had the Turbo powers restored to him. So my theory is that once Zordon's energy wave spread across the galaxy, the destroyed powers were restored. (Power Coin and Turbo).

Anyway, bringing back the zords would be impossible since nearly all of them have been destroyed completely prior Zeo.

Even the Shogun and Ninja MegaZords? And I never heard about that stuff about the power coins before now (or that a MMPR came back as a MMPR that late in the series).

Actually I don't remember what happened to the Shogun and Ninja Zords...They could have been destroyed some time before the Power Coins were, but I'm not sure.

Even after Zeo, almost all the Zords were destroyed. In fact Zeo is the only series of the first four (MMPR, Zeo, Turbo, Space) that kept every single Zord from being destroyed.

Heh heh, I remember watching that episode when the original Zords were destroyed (as they sank into the earth?). Ownage.

Thunder MegaZord was kinda cool (and so was the White Tiger MegaZord), but Dragon Megazord >> anything else in the series for me.

yeah, and then the Tyrannus Zord and Dragonzord were both turned against the rangers for like 3 episodes. Until Billy ended up saving the day. :p Ironically, the Dragonzord was the only one not destroyed during that transition to Thunder.

I think for me, the Shogun Megazord was one of the coolest, and it was really important to the overall story.

shogunmegazord.jpg

Master Vile was able to take control of the Shogun Megazord, the Ninja Megazord, and the Falcon Zord in the last few episodes of MMPR, and he hid the Zeo Crystal that he had gained inside the engine room of the Shogun Megazord, and the rangers had to use the combined force of their Power Coins and the Morphing Grid to release the Zeo Crystal's seal.

shogunmegazord-engineroom.jpg

I always thought it was weird though because there was not a Pink Shogun Zord, so Kat was forced to ride along side Tommy in the cockpit of the White Shogun Zord.

I thought there was a Pink Shogun Zord, though. One of the limbs (while Tommy still had his FalconZord).

Nope, only five:

shogunzords.jpg

Really stupid idea too, since the Falcon Zord did attach to the Shogun Megazord, meaning Tommy had two Zords going at once.

shogunmegafalconzord.jpg

But I guess it's similar to how Tommy had the Red Battle Zord during Zeo that attached to Pyramidus along side the other Zords.

EDIT: I forgot that the Alien Rangers also 'borrowed' the Shogun Zords to use while the Power Rangers were still powerless in the transition to Zeo, which worked out perfectly for them since there was no Pink Alien Ranger. :p

What Saban should have done in the first place was change the rangers costumes to the same ones in Japan when they introduced the Thunder Megazords:

rangers.jpg

Instead of trying to edit footage of the enemy(in the same series as the white Dairanger) to mix in with the previous series Zyuranger(MMPR).

I guess Saban wanted MMPR's costumes to last as long as they could before the shift to Kakurangers(Ninja rangers).

Yeah, I always thought the Dairanger suits looked really cool. And the White Ranger suit just didn't mix with the MMPR suits at. all. Not to mention the Zord his suit was based on didn't even fit with the trend. (Dinosaurs, hello).

That was IIRC the first time I knew the footage they used was from a different series when I was a kid. Saban couldn't fool me! LOL :p

There were also a few modes in there (i remember the first zords turning into a tankt type thing) and I am pretty sure there was a Brachiosaurus in there...

I always wished they used that Zord more, I mean even in last ditch efforts it wasn't used much, I really can't remember them calling on it too often, but eh.

I remember the first episode of Thunderzord Saga was on primetime Sunday, Power Rangers was once that big.

Ok I remember Rita threw the wand (never explained how she got it back), and Zedd threw like a giant spear, what did the other villians do to make the monsters grow?

I don't think anything happened at all with the Shogun and Ninja Zords I don't recall them being destroyed during the transition to Zeo. You could always assume Ninjor came and took them back. ;p

Yeah, that was Titanus, which formed the Ultra Zord once all 3 were combined. (Megazord, Dragonzord, Titanus)

They brought Titanus back again for the Ninja Zords, where the Ninja Megazord, Falcon Zord, and Titanus combined.

Ok I remember Rita threw the wand (never explained how she got it back), and Zedd threw like a giant spear, what did the other villians do to make the monsters grow?
Mondo and Machina used a pair of robots, where the smallest would latch on to a fallen monster and reactivate it at a larger size.

Divatox used size-increasing torpedos.

Astronima used the "Satar Lazers" which simply made things grow.

Scorpio and Trakina...I actually forget what method they used. :p Might have been beans?

Diabolico used a villain who had size-increasing cards.

And the more current ones I don't remember. :p

Probably that's what happened, after the Alien Rangers got through 'borrowing' them anyway. I always hated Ninjor with such a passion, and I was so glad he wasn't in the movie. I wish Dolcia (sp?) had taken on the role in the series instead of gay Ninjor. His voice was horrible, and he would always enter a battle flying in on a giant cloud, WTF! Gayest. PR. Character. Evar.

...Did they? Well that was pretty stupid. :p It doesn't even fit in with the other Zords, seeing as how they're all space-based.

Haha, I don't like the "Morphing Complete" logo though in the Space version. The Japanese one had it say "Mega Silver Ready!". Actually, that "Morphing Complete" logo is covering Mega Silver Ready... lol

Power Rangers Zeo(eps 1-20, missing 17) is already up for torrent along with the entire MMPR season 2 and 3. Turbo was just added too. Whenever the Goldranger appeared, you could make a gif of his henshin.

Those torrents are the English versions? I might have to download it. I have a hard time stomaching the Japanese versions of the shows anymore. Bad JP acting on top of the formulaic sentai formula just doesn't help. At least it isn't as campy in English even if the premise and plots can be dumb.

Mega Silver Ready? So that's why it says "MEGA" on the Silver Ranger morpher...I had always wondered about that, haha. :p

Nah, I can't make a gif. The program I used to have that I made gifs with died alongside everything else on my home PC once my HDD crashed, so... :( And btw, what's henshin mean exactly?

If you are taking avatar request, is there any chance you coul;d make me one with either the MegaZord or the Thunder MegaZord forming?

Speaking of the Megazord, what was up with the "middle stage" transformation, after the all joined, but before they became the MegaZord, it was sort of a car with a bunch of animal heads, but I don't think it was ever actually used, and was just wasted motion.

"MegaZord sequence has been initated"

I can't give tags otherwise I would've given you one already =|

That reminds me of the morph calls used by each of series.

"It's Morphin' Time" - MMPRG
"Shift into Turbo" - Turbo
"Lightspeed Rescue" -Lightspeed Rescue
"Time for Timeforce" -Time Force
"Wild Access!" Wild Force
"Ninja Storm Ranger Form" -Ninja Storm
"Dino Thunder, hah!" -Dino Thunder (I think this was the call)

I can't remember in Space, Lost Galaxy or Zeo =(.

And the middle stage Megazord was used a few times in the English version although IIRC, it was used more extensively in Zyuranger.

It was the battle tank. And you're right, they hardly ever used it. I think I remember them using it once or twice towards the beginning of the series. Basically all it does is fire lazers.

And I loved those voice overs: "Megazord sequence has been initiated!....MEGAZORD ACTIVATED!" And then its eyes would flash. So cool. ^-^

Zeo: "It's morphing time... Zeo Ranger 1, Red!"(changes from 1-5, [insert color]) and "Gold Ranger Power!"
In Space: "LET'S ROCK IT!"(or rocket, i dunno)
Lost Galaxy: "Go, Galactic!"

IMHO, Ninja Storm had the worst battle crys ever. "Ninja Storm/Thunder Storm, Ranger Form, HIYA!"

*cough* It's Zeo Ranger 1, Pink! - Zeo Ranger 5, Red!

I think the Lightspeed morph hand motions were the worst, they just looked difflicted. And Time Force probably had one of the worst sayings: "TIME FOR...TIME FORCE!" Stupid. :p

I think I liked Zeo's whole configuration the best, with the two components that connect together. I also liked Turbo's with the keys.

Oh yeah! I loved that too! You always knew a bad guy was in for it whenever they did the MegaZord or Mega DragonZord or Dragon MegaZord or UltraZord.

Except one time, in Zeo, when Zedd and Rita returned, and the monster DESTROYED the Zeo UltraZord (I think it had the Zeo Zords + Pyramidas + Red BattleZord).
