Huh, for some reason I thought Switch had some exclusivity deal with this game. I had no idea it was coming out on PC the day after.

I'm eager to see the new home menu icon. They said they were going to fix it. If true, I'll buy it. If not, I already have too many games to play (include Metroid: Samus Returns), and I don't need my home menu looking worse.

Looks so damn good. The amount of new stuff this is adding is incredible. Can't wait for the 21st to start on it. Hopefully I'll have as much fun playing it as I've had writing up the OT :)

Guessing no-one knows when reviews are coming out? Image & Form's Twitter doesn't really have any info at all on that front.

I'm excite. Do we know the pricing?

$19.99 / €19.99 / £14.99

For a supposedly 8-hour minimum game I'd say it's worth it.

Is "I whooped and hollered like a demented seal" the new "our frothing demand for this game increases"?

They got a timed exclusivity deal for it. It's just that it's not a very long timed exclusivity.

Yeah lol I guess they were vague about that detail for PR purposes cause Steamworld Dig 2 isn't nearly big enough to sway customers with a 24 hour exclusivity deal.

Anyway, I can't wait!

I liked steam and loved heist hopefully I'll love this too, I was just thinking I wanted another small game on switch

This looks so darn sweet. Thursday cant come soon enough.

Any guesses on Meta?
Best selling platform?
Can't say the Meta but I will say that even if this is the first closely multiplatform release the steam world branding is still closely associated with Nintendo like Shovel Knight is.

Just played through the first one recently via the Origin giveaway. It was fun, but I'm glad that the sequel is ditching the procedural generation and going in more of a traditional Metroid direction.

Seeing this land right on the heels of Samus Returns will make for one hell of a double feature. I always thought Dig 1 belonged to that vast category of side-scrollers that are wrongly compared to Metroid despite not flowing anything like it, which does a disservice to both games, but oddly enough, I found myself thinking of it when going through SR, an adventure that takes you down, down, and down (with teleporters to take you back upstairs to power up). That doesn't make Dig more like Metroid, but it does make SR more like Dig.

I didn't fall for Dig 1 quite as hard as many people (though Heist was a different story), but I did think it was a very solid prototype for what could be a fantastic game with further iteration and refinement. And the developers' own remarks about approaching Dig 2 as a Metroid-to-Super jump have me excited.

Don't know which I'll pick up first between this and Thimbleweed Park, but my Switch sure looks to be busy.

Yep, the entire game's hand-crafted. It's very much the biggest change for the sequel.
Woah, that's a big deal. I thought Dig 1 was a charming game but nothing amazing, then they did Heist and that game blew me away, one of the best turn based strategy games released this generation. If they can nail the design of a complex game like Heist, I have faith they can really elevate Dig 2.

Yessss always excited for what I&F puts out! Will get this for an upcoming business trip in October, hopefully M+R will be done by then so there's nothing in my way!

PS4 & Vita - Sept. 26th/27th in EU

PS4 and Vita?? Somehow I missed the news (when it was going around at first months back, there was just confirmation of PS4 and also Steam in addition to the original Switch game.) Good times, now I'm crossing my fingers for my 3DS brothers...

Switch still will be the best way to play this, hope it rocks well for Image&Form on that platform.

Looks so good! Really enjoyed the first one, although it seemed to end before it truly got going.

Woah. I need to check this out. Having just finished Mario + Rabbids, my thirst/interest in turn-based strategy is heightened. :)

The new character is no Rusty but this looks better in all other ways than the first one.
She's not new, she was in the first game. She helps you get out at the start and you sell your minerals to her. In fact the first one ends
with her wanting to go look for Rusty
.

They were very budget constrained with their first game and couldn't do a lot of what they wanted to do, hence why it's pretty short and prototype-y.

Heist is fantastic so I'm excited to see what they've done with Dig now that the gloves are off.

Yeah, the ending was my biggest issue with the first game. That likely won't be an issue here, though. The devs are saying it's around an 8-12 hour playtime if you're just wanting to finish the game, 14-16 if you're completing it.

Sounds absolutely perfect! :)

I swear this'll be the last game I buy for a full price until maybe Skyrim Switch. Hope I can find some time to actually play it unlike, for the most part, the Rabbids XCom game.

Shows how much I played the first game(not that it was bad, just too many games).

First game was an unexpected gem. Hopefully the price point won't put people off. I have a feeling that price is a little above a lot of people's sweet spot for a digital indie title.
