No thanks, I'll take the cartoony renaissance instead. I like colors.

Actually the game reminds me of Team Fortress... (I just noticed that), more than anything else, definitely not Overwatch, which I called TF3 when it was revealed. I really like the style, and they have more detail (generations later, better graphics, more power, so that makes sense).

Microsoft told me to just contact Epic about the refund. I'm guessing that their support doesn't know about it yet so it makes sense.

So, after a session of Paragon I closed the game. I started to read this thread and noticed the sale was over so I went to the Fortnite section of the launcher and checked what the price was.

So I can now install it for free. Free to play is active!???
Can someone else check if they are getting it free now too? Maybe someone in another thread gifted it to me since I remember mentioning my Epic user name. If PC is free fro everyone now, the Fortnite OT should be updated.

Paragon founders got it free since yesterday. It's just a nice gesture from EPIC, a little week head start.
Any word on duos? I realise squads arecoming Tuesday, but nothing about duos.

Everyone gets the Battle Royale mode for free on the 26th, it seems the Paragon founders only got the Battle Royale mode on PC through the EPIC launcher. I tried playing on PS4 after installing on PC and it asked for a code.
I have my accounts linked and it was a no-go.
Worst case scenario, you just have to wait until the 26th. I think the way refunds work on PSN anyway is that they revoke the license, but you can play the content as long as you don't delete it from your PS4, you just won't be able to redownload it if you do.
I'm getting my refund from sony support now would be awesome if i got grand fathered in too.

The menu music is very nice in this game. Reminds me of playstation 2 days, I can't put my finger on what it reminds me of, not saying it's a copy, but it just triggers some kind of nostalgia memory.
My first game got me to 16th place or so. I died in the storm, trying to dodge bullets not realizing I was co close to the edge of the barrier.

I don't need much blood or guts but in the trailer when someone got shot, it just looks like there is something missing, like without any effect. As if you shoot into a big blob. Don't know how to explain it better.
Maybe it's better in-game but that's what's really turned me off in the trailer.

Uh, I like style and color over dull greys, browns and greens. I'll always gravitate towards stylized shooters over call of duty and battlefield fare given the choice. Because it's more eye-catching. And if the gameplay is good, that's quite the bonus.

I like the gunplay.. and the colour scheme to see what weapons are good.. it makes it a little more approachable and Arcady than pubg..
I just hope teams and duo are coming soon.. since when they go free to play for all, I can only see teaming increasing.. and there way of reporting cheaters right now makes it a little cumbersome to do so..

The faq said teams were coming on the 26th. So im guessing that would include duos hopefully.

Does this go for people who bought a retail copy for PVP? I redeemed the code on the 15th of September. Obviously I couldn't get money back but another founders code would be pretty nice. I might be asking for a bit much though.

It's just the Battle Royal mode. PVE is not accessible yet, 2018. Seeing that it was Battle Royal that is being the free version next week, I still might get the Fortnite Early Access now that I know they probably won't add new things to the different packs.
I know. The battle royale mode alone is worth it!

I wish I could refund this damn game. Was up for a PvE tower defence game but one month after they sold it they decided to make a different game well before it even got close to leaving Early Access.
Never touching anything from Epic again after this one. Massive bait and switch just to follow the new hotness which almost everyone is looking at now. Can't stand these Battle Royale games either so I feel doubly screwed.

I'm new to the genre too, I've only played a few other shooting games. I have done a small amount of PVE so far, but I'm definitely enjoying battle royale. I even won a round the other day.

Because none of this crap was mentioned when they sold the game. They had said they were toying with the idea of PvP at launch and out of nowhere it's up and running right off the back of the survival mode. If I'd have known they had a Battle Royale mode ready to go so soon I'd have never touched it.
BR is the new hotness. It's where the larger side of the playerbase will be and as a result will be priority. All they had to do was be honest about what they're working on rather than literally shadow drop this on paying customers.
I should clarify I don't hate it, I quite enjoyed the PvE. My issue lies solely with a lack of communication on this front for an EA game. I expect EA titles to be super up front about development. In this case Epic could have communicated the release of this a whole lot better and as a result it's the company I've no trust in at all now.

This will only get big if they can be quick to implement improvements. One of the things that's made PUBG so successful for me is just how quickly it has been updated in early access, and if Fortnite can garner that same momentum it will definitely be big.
Improve gunplay, improve loot, increase speed on gas so you can't outrun it, improve UI so that you don't pick-up guns to replace your main as easily and add first person mode. Do those and you'll have a bloody good free PUBG.

Thanks epic for killing the pve mode of fortnite. You're naive if you think it won't. See h1z1 for an example. Only difference here is it only took 2 weeks for them to shift their priorities. 2 frickin weeks! 6 years in dev and it ends with a cash grab pubg clone.

The battle royal mode isn't done by the Fortnite PVE team apparently. The PVE team is still doing what they were doing unaffected by BR, even though it's the new hotness.
Fortnite / Battle Royal's situation is a lot better than Marvel Heroes situation, where the devs of that game moved pretty much all focus to the console versions while the PC players are sitting here twiddling our thumbs. I spent so much money in that game, Gazillion couldn't handle doing both versions, they could hardly handle the PC version alone it seemed.

Very smart move. I wasn't interested in the base game at all, especially since it was an early access F2P game that you had to pay for. But I am interested in the PVE mode, especially since it doesn't look like PUBG will be coming to the PS4 anytime soon. WIll definitely be jumping into this.
