What lightsaber?

What you mean what lightsaber. The green one damn it, the only one that is actually Luke's saber!

He better pull out his green one when Rey tries to give him Bananakin's saber and ask her what she's talking about since he has his saber.

Also, anybody think that Rey is going to end up getting some light staff thing at the end of all this? She seems to like staves more as a weapon.

Luke shouldn't use a lightsaber at all, so the more I continue to not see it in art/toys/etc. the better.

A passing reference is fine, but I don't need to see 65-year-old Hamill trying his best sword twirling. Luke should be the most powerful Force user ever - he's the son of the Chosen One and he's spent years in solitude researching the Force. He should be far beyond relying on weapons, just as Yoda and Palpatine should have been. Especially since we already know he is for some reason against the continuance of the Jedi Order. What's a more powerful way of rejecting the teachings of the Jedi than rejecting the very weapon that has become their symbol?

As far as Rey goes, I think something like the Jedi Temple Guard lightsaber pikes from Clone Wars would be really bad-ass, but I think she's going to keep the Skywalker Saber, unless Rian does something really ballsy and destroys it at the end of VIII.

I think she will likely end up keeping Anakin's saber. Luke will refuse it maybe.
Or maybe just to fuck with people he'll take back the family lightsaber and give her the green machine (naw).

I would be pleasantly surprised if she ended up with a nontraditional lightsaber. Only if they don't make a big deal about it, though. Don't turn it into a gimmick (even though it totally is), just let it be a fact. Not like that fucking helicopter shit in rebels.

Sorry, who is Luke again? I think Lucasfilm's marketing is having some kind of effect on me.

Doesn't look like anything to me.

Rey should go find her own kyber between 8 and 9, then slap it in a double bladed saber made in with Anakin's.
With the way they set up kyber as a presence in the films via Rogue One, wouldn't be surprised if they dive into that aspect a bit. In my dreams I would have Kylo lose his saber and steal Anakin/Rey's (and corrupt it, imagine him forcepulling it and corrupting it on the spot) and let her come back with her own thing.

I watch me some Star Wars videos on YT from time to time so I get other channels on my homepage that I might want to check out. One video, titled something like Snokes identity leaked. I roll my eyes but want to see what it says and it basically said.......

That Snoke was an ancient Sith from the Old Republic and he was entombed and reanimated Mummy style in the outer regions. This is the way that they will introduce the mainstream audience to the Old Republic and be able to do movies after the Skywalker saga is over. I don't believe shit but the thought of them making Old Republic movies with huge Sith vs Jedi battles would be amazing.

It sucks that Michael K. Williams couldn't make it, they better cast him for 9 or Obi-Wan's movie.

Speaking of Obi-Wan, they were supposed to announce what the next movie was going to be a few months ago.

”I think we're getting close. My hope would be sometime around the summer. I never want to predict the creative process because it is its own thing, so we're in the midst of those discussions right now."

Summer got fired.

So I may or may not have spent $43 and gotten every Marvel/"Canon" Star Wars graphic novel currently available on that crazy Amazon sale. Jesus Christ.

The only mistake was LucasFilm not being completely in synch with Lord and Miller's directing style. I'll never understand how they worked on the movie for years and they didn't realize that they liked to improve.

Honestly it's not exactly unheard of for that to happen. For the directors to turn out something that didn't match expectations, but not realize it until very late in the game. What's different here is the sheer magnitude of the effort and resources at play to correct it.

At most another studio would pull a Suicide Squad and fire out a bunch of different edits and try to find *some* semblance of a cohesive/passable final product, and/or lean a little more heavily on reshoots than normal, call it a day, and hope for the best. Lucasfilm is much more invested in the quality, and know they *can* sink unprecedented resources into righting the ship to the exact course they wanted, because it's Star Wars and it's always going to be worth the effort. I'm sure other studios would *love* to be able to do this and know the end result will be profitable. WB is actually coming kind of close with Justice League, because the reaction to BvS burned them and they know Justice League should be huge.

Hopefully, someone finally stood up and said that a Boba Fett movie is a really stupid idea.

Was getting caught part of your plan?
Been mulling over that movie re-watch thread idea and I'm wondering...

Would there be some way we could do a live-chat and coordinate simultaneous viewing? That'd be dope.

Finally finished Leia, really enjoyed it. The tie-in to Bloodline was fun, through an item which I had completely forgotten about. Need to give that book a re-read.

Bunch of comics came out today. The SW Annual was alright, nothing special. Good ending to the Poe arc and now they can finally wrap it up by finding Lor. Phasma #2 Congo he's to have beautiful art and it's funny how it is openly paralleling the book. SW Adventures #2 was ok, but the thing that stuck out to me most was the backup Wild Space strip which had a fun story about Evaan Verlaine during the evacuation of Yavin.

The problem is that it doesn't make sense. Evaan left with the Alderaanian survivors at the end of the Leia comic to find a new home and Leia returned to evacuation-in-progress Yavin alone. Here, Evaan is back in uniform hijacking a Star Destroyer to prevent it from blowing up the temple (that plot point in Lost Stars about a SD never having been hijacked has already been shot to hell about three or four times by now). So unless she immediately turned back around and told the Alderaanians "I know you literally just elected me leader and we just set out to find a new home but I'll brb" then it doesn't match up. Since the Wild Space stories are in-universe yarns though I'll just chalk it up to being a legend about the Rebellion that Emil heard.

Also finally got to read The Heist and am reading The Darkness. I was really surprised when Cylo factored into the plot!
