In one week from today, SL9 returns to North America's biggest pop culture event for the third year in a row. As always, we look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones so if you're attending, be sure to stop by and see us at booth #939. Of course, with NYCC also comes exclusive show variants. So, without further ado...

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
"Ultimate Vinyl Edition" 4 LP Box Set
NYCC Exclusive Sweet Roll Vinyl Variant

Tired of having to rummage through the Honningbrew Meadery in search of a sweet treat? Don't have time for a trip to Proudspire Manor? SL9 has the solution. A fortunate few will get the opportunity to take home a copy of this variant, and savor the joy of their favorite digital confection any time they want.
Limited to only 95 copies.

Can't make it to New York Comic Con this year? Not to worry. Another, more widely-available colored vinyl variant for this set will be announced next week.

Dark Souls I / Dark Souls II / Dark Souls III
Double LP Sets
NYCC Exclusive Dark Eye Orb Vinyl Variants

You'll have to make it to the show to catch a glimpse of these.
Limited to only 100 copies each.

Hard to believe it but the fall is here and 2017 is already coming to a close! It's been another prolific year here in the lab, with releases for Far Cry Primal, Tom Clancy's the Division, Lost in Space, The Witcher 3, Dark Souls Trilogy and more. But hey, there are still three months left.. and we don't intend to waste them.

Get your game on with these titles, coming soon from SL9 - BORDERLANDS: Claptastic Voyage, RESIDENT EVIL: Vendetta, LOST IN SPACE: Complete John Williams Collection 4 LP Box Set, OUTLAST: Trilogy of Terror

Limited to only 95 copies. what a joke :D why even press an amount that low of a variant.

They were probably ordered and pressed alongside the regular batch in which case it shouldn't be too big a deal to change the color between copies.

Honestly, I don't mind them doing these limited variants as long as there's a regular variant that has the same music on it.

Was finally able to sit down and listen to the following:

Sunset riders
DKC
Castlevania IV
Hero of Time
Sonic Mania
Akira

Following this thread has been a real treat.

Data Discs is teasing a newsletter coming later today with Upcoming Releases info. Most likely will be Streets of Rage 3, not sure if there'll be a second release tied in.

I can't wait for SOR3. They're probably releasing it to coincide with the Red Bull Yuzo Koshiro x Motohiro Kawashima live tour!

They haven't done the second release at the same time thing in a while, unfortunately. Hope so, makes ordering the special editions viable.

DATA013: METAL SLUG

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with SNK Corporation. Over the past year, we have been working closely with the SNK team in Japan to develop an exclusive release for what is perhaps their most iconic franchise: METAL SLUG.

The vinyl release features the complete music from the first entry in the series (Metal Slug: Super Vehicle-001), composed by Takushi Hiyamuta in 1996. Working in collaboration with the SNK Sound Team, the audio was sourced from a NEOGEO development kit in Japan and then mastered at our in-house studio in London. The release is packaged in a gatefold sleeve with accompanying double-sided lithographic insert, featuring rare artwork from the Japanese archives and a special translucent OBI strip with fluorescent Pantone print. A download code for the digital album in both lossy and lossless formats will also be included.

This release is available in the following editions:
180g Tri-Colour Stripe with White Splatter (Limited Edition) - £20.99
180g Opaque Yellow - £19.99
180g Classic Black - £19.99

Available from SATURDAY 7th OCTOBER at data-discs.com

Note: this is a pre-order item. All copies will ship by the end of November.

Audio samples can be found HERE

They also mention Streets of Rage 3 is this year. Space Harrier is a 2018 release.

Space Harrier also confirmed in the newsletter.

"ALSO ANNOUNCED!

We can also reveal today that we’re teaming up once again with SEGA Japan and composer Hiroshi “Hiro” Kawaguchi for a very special release of SPACE HARRIER. This title will be part of our 2018 lineup and we’ll look forward to sharing more details in the coming months!"

The coolest thing about this release (Besides that hot semi-translucent OBI strip) is that it includes a digital download code! That's super neat, obviously SNK is open to that sort of thing.

I'll pass on Metal Slug, however I am really excited that in their newsletter, they also confirmed Space Harrier for 2018!!

Metal Slug is the first time an LE is an extra 1 GBP. Not that I'm complaining, of course. Hopefully I have no problem getting one. :)

Nice DD picks! Day 1 for both. Loving the SNK partnership.

I wonder who gets Samurai Shodown? BW or DD? SS1 on vinyl is a must cop.

HOLY SHIT!

Edit: mainly for the Metal Slug news here, but hey, the Space Harrier music is on my Apple Watch for when I go running so, yeah, stoked for that one as well.

SEGA should be too. Much of their stuff is on Spotify as well. That's my biggest wise with DD going forward.

I've bought or sought out every DD release. But I genuinely don't care about Metal Slug as a series, nor do I care about any of the other SNK titles. So this might be where my numbered collection bites it. I knew they'd branch out eventually. Ah well.

My Sonic Mania vinyls FINALLY came in from Data Discs today. Now if they could make a second one with all the remixes that'd be swell.

Did they ever release how many of the splattered vinyl are out there?

I dropped off back when Altered Beast was released. Feels liberating, lol.

I was close with that one. In hindsight I wish I had. Altered Beast sucks lol

Blasphemer! Haha, I love Altered Beast, and will defend it until the day I die. That Game Over theme is hot fire. And the artwork looks great on the sleeve.

Skyrim, that looks amazing. That being said, 4xLP is too rich for my blood right now. If it was a 2xLP set, I'd jump right on it, but I'll be passing for the time being. Hopefully it'll stick around for a while.

I more meant as a game... I don't love the OST but it's not the worst. The package itself is nice looking, but I just have no nostalgia or love for that IP.

Fair enough. I have a ton of love for the game, but a lot of that is nostalgia driven.

It feels really nice to pass on stuff once in a while. I broke with DD when Altered Beast and Gunstar popped up. Those soundtracks do nothing for me. I also could have skipped on Galaxy Force II / Thunder Blade (only like about half of that album). AB and GH soundtracks don't do much for me, and as much as I love the Metal Slug series, the music isn't something that I need to own.

Looks like a nice production, though!

I'm down to pick this up (Metal Slug), but I feel like there's been a lull in the classic stuff for the past few months. Probably just Mondo having all but stopped their Castlevania stuff.

I have been most excited for Outrun and this since Data Discs started. Day 1 for sure
You have excellent taste! I fell in love with it when I first heard it on Red Bull's Digging in the Carts. It now means that I no longer have to buy Sega GMO vol. 1, unless I just want it for the cool-ass artwork:

I already have vol. 2, but wouldn't complain of DD wanted to release Fantasy Zone as well!
