Yeah that doesn't really explain it, especially using hype as a metric.
Less chance to completely kill a team based on hitting a TAC. It is possible to escape one by guessing right. MvC3 had become a one touch kill game by the time TACS were common so having a somewhat escapable way to one touch kill a character didn't seem out of place when nearly every viable character can kill with one touch.

And, TACs took longer to figure out so by the time they were prominent the chances of a patch were out the window.

Just ban anything beyomd 3 reps or something. No reason why character and the stone came by used together. As it stands tho, infinite is too powerful. Every other ToD requires resources and usually didn't build any, this one builds both meters and kills a character in a game that has a button dedicated to having both characters.

On a basic level, I can't even find simple answers for stuff like "What does Firebrand's "Luminous Body" super do." Had to refer to UMvC3's wiki, so I'm guessing it just does the same in this game.

I have already talking about many times how that whole thing was fucked up.

We have had many conversations about this whole Easy Super/Combo thing. This isn't even enforced by Capcom yet so why are TOs trying to enforce it?

I would've fought harder, and been like sorry I'm not bowing out or redoing matches just to cater to some shit head you know. Go DQ 50% of the entrants then real quick.

Or even just knowing which moves have armor at all. The game doesn't tell you. I'd love to add this info to my guide app.

I bring it up because even if you ban the infinite, there's always going to be some punk ass trying to skim the rules. I don't trust TOs and pool runners to actually know what they're doing until the game is running until at least a couple of months, keep it simple as much as possible.

Yeah, I had to roll my eyes when Scamby later claimed the Pools captains told everyone about the 'ban' before pool matches. A) The Fall Classic website has no rules about MvC:I, and only about UMvC3, and B) Claiming that this new rule was decided before pools is some shady ass shit. There's a reason why Big E or ShinBlanka aren't saying publicly about it. They know they fucked up and hope people will sweep it under the rug.

Captain Marvel gives like a 30% damage boost, drains your HP and increases the amount of Blitzes you can do.

Or something like that. Dark ages and stuff.
 
I threw this together earlier. I wish it wasn't so hard to rank up, but past the first few, I've gotten nothing but reality stone users. While I can beat them occasionally, it's always an exercise in frustration and never fun. The solid netcode and cool tech you can steal from people even when you lose is what makes this game so great, though.

So do tye grab protection rules on incoming from UMvC3 still apply does anyone know? Or can I snag people with mind stone right as they come in?

yeah i didn't even know haggars hoodlum launchers have some kind of armor until i did it and he glowed red. although i think it only goes through physical hits and not projectiles. at least the reality projectile stops it. i would lab it up but im lazy.

Man, I didn't play for a few days and got online and got totally demolished. ;( I'm retiring my MVC career! Not really though I guess, because I gotta start one first.

wow didnt think I'd win a single match after going on an epic losing streak. Finally switched to Chun Li/Gamora team and won 1st try. sad thing I've never really labbed with Chun Li much. maybe 10 mins total. Guess time to give her a shot.
 
Pick it up on PS4. Not a big enough playerbase on PC.

Ah, that's a shame, since cdkeys.com is selling it for like $22. It's not like I'm going to be playing a lot of it, but I do want fighting games to have some longevity for whenever I feel the urge to jump online. Guess I'll wait to snap it up whenever I find it on sale for the PS4, the current roster isn't that exciting to me right now (not $60-$50 exciting anyway...).

Ay, got to 11th rank tonight. Really starting to feel my Firebrand/Jedah team. Though I gotta say this game brings out the salt like no other. Reality stone and gamora's guns can die in a fire.

I always wanted to play MvC3, but could never get any of it to click. It felt like I could do 1/50th of what I wanted to be able to do. Feels like in this game I can do about 70% of what I want to in pretty quick order. Nothing is optimized, but even against pretty good players I can give them a run for their money without using only optimal stuff. There are tons of ways to get damage that is significant so you can focus more on trying not to get hit all the damn time.

You're right about Future Fight, but Puzzle Quest always had X-Men.

Yes because they were added pre-ban. When's the last time you saw a new X-men character? Basically Marvel allowed banned characters if they were already in the game but people weren't allowed to create any new ones.

It'll be banned or patched before the next major, count on it.

And, as I've said about 3-4 times now, I'm fine with a patch. I think a patch should happen and I believe one is incoming (not before Canada Cup, Capcom isn't that quick and I doubt it would get approved by Sony/MS in that timeframe even if they were). But until it is patched it shouldn't be banned. Ultrachen's reasoning was nonsense. They want it banned because it's slow. That's a dumb reason to ban something, basically on par with "I don't like it". I like a lot of things about the game, but I also don't like a lot of things. However I'm not clamoring to get the things I don't like banned.

I'm imagining a tournament with all spider-mans and someone trying to be the first to pop that off. Would be a really good look for the game surely.

I do find it strange how everyone focuses on the Spiderman issue where there's a real glitch that is far more problematic. However I believe the Dante/Chun tech is not able to be performed consistently yet, right? It does seem like the sort of tech where everyone could have a move that is affected.
