A bunch of codes I have that expired in 2010 and 2011 still worked today, including some le work to get those DVD based digital copies onto iTunes and then onto my account

Does anyone know of any good websites to buy digital codes? I poke around in the B/S/T thread here every day but it seems really hard to find codes after the initial rush of day one blu ray buyers have sold theirs.

Looking for a Baby Driver code right now if anyone is interested in parting with one.

I saw the offer on the Google Play store and downloaded/signed up this weekend. Forgot about it until this thread, so I just got my free movies.

Didn't realize there was a FireTV app also, that should make it easier to watch my now more consolidated library.

Yep. Did the same thing this morning, converted about 20 Blurays that I didn’t even know I had the digital copy for, even with “expired codes”. The only one’s that didn’t work were Warner Bros Blu-rays, specifically Matrix Trilogy, Batman 1989, Dark Knight Trilogy, And Inception. Kept giving me an error in iTunes. Was thinking of emailing Warner support and seeing if there’s anything they can do, doubt it since I bought these movies years ago.

Try redeeming directly in MA app. I got inception to work by inputting it directly in the MA app despite it not working in iTunes.

Hmm, didn’t even think of doing that. Just tried it on iTunes and then Vudu, I’ll try MA tonight. Thanks

Does anyone have Watchmen Ultimate Cut? This movie does not port over to Movies Anywhere even thought it says Warner Bros on Vudu. I'm guessing the partnership WB had with Paramount totally screws this over.

EDIT: Yep, Director's Cut works in MA, Ultimate Cut doesnt

I buy my codes from the blu-ray.com forums. Plenty of people there do it for all kinds of films and new releases. I know I'll find a 4k spiderman homecoming code for like $5 tomorrow.

Well the glory days are dead. iTunes now just plays standard HD for movies you don’t have a 4K entitlement for. RIP

How do they define 4K entitlement? Like does an UHD movie from Vudu port over UHD?
Yes they do. This mostly affects HD UV movies or purchases coming over from other retailers. But so far 4K movies from other retailers come to iTunes as 4K, and HD digital codes on iTunes directly give the 4K version when available.

Looks like I have some complaining to do then. Right off the bat I can see that several of my UHD movies from Vudu ported over as HD in iTunes now. It wasn't like that before.

One of mine is Pirates - Dead Men Tell No Tales. I redeemed in DMA, ported to Vudu as UHD. Now it's HD in iTunes. On a positive note, the 2 Fox titles I redeemed on iTunes have remained UHD. The same 2 Fox UHD codes that I redeemed in iTunes ported to Vudu as SD.

Edit: Is there not a purchase history or anything for MA?

So is there a definitive way to see if a title is playing properly in iTunes? Since it defaults to whatever output mode is selected, I can't figure out how to know for sure it's not upscaling.

Is Baby Driver available in 4K on iTunes? I remember it being so, but it’s showing up as HD in iTunes for me.

I didn’t hear anything about Baby Driver specifically, but some iTunes transfers are weird and got pulled as a result. I watched John Wick 2 in 4K, then last week it went down to HD, now it’s back to 4K. I did see some weird artifacts a couple times while watching so maybe they fixed that? I know they pulled Ex Machina because the transfer was bad, people said normal HD looked better than the HDR

But to directly answer your question yes Baby Driver was 4K and now it’s not

Yep, can confirm this as well. No HD+, just regular ass HD. Hopefully this means that changes are coming to how iTunes shows content so it’s at least not lying to me and saying I have 4K HDR when I don’t. I’m not gonna be insulted seeing the HD label instead, since that’s what’s I paid for on VUDU.

EDIT: according to the playback HUD it’s not sending HDR anymore but it IS still sending a bit higher resolution than 1080p

iTunes doesn't have Disney movies in UHD. No one has Pirates in UHD in iTunes.

Not saying you're wrong but I'm not seeing this behavior on my end. They've always played in HD with HDR but they still show 4K in my library.

Disney is not on iTunes in UHD. So no Disney UHD will currently redeem on iTunes. :p

There is a definitive way to see what a movie is streaming as but it requires a Mac. Using a Mac you can enable the developer HUD on the Apple TV and see all the info about the stream you can handle.

Edit - I should add that the banner on the movie (while playing) has always been right. So if it says HD HDR, that’s what the HUD says. If it says HD only then it is SDR. etc. the two movies I checked (X-Men First Class and LEGO) now only say HD and cap at 1080p SDR. Whereas when this launched they were 1200p HDR. And the banner matched the movies’ states each time. I’m my case both movies were old SD redemptions that got upgraded to HD as a result of MA. And as we’ve discovered those don’t qualify for 4K versions on iTunes.

Hmm. You should have gotten 4K in iTunes I thought. Go to the store listing (search) and see if it shows you own it. Or are you looking in iTunes PC? Because that currently doesn't show 4K availability.

Ah yea, I was looking on Windows PC. On my iPhone it says 4k. But it's nice that I also get 4K from Vudu. Didn't know an HD copy on iTunes (upgraded to 4k) would also net me 4K in Vudu

My Scott Pilgrim code doesn't work. I totally forgot about redeeming it

I was able to redeem mine that I got from the steelbook just the other day. Should work. I think I did it directly in iTunes..

Ah interesting. I knew I wasn't crazy!

I bought Blade Runner Final Cut via iTunes, but the MA didn't pick it up. I'm guessing it's because MA has it called Blade Runner (Final Cut) and iTunes has it called Blade Runner (The Final Cut)?

Suddenly finding myself hoping that MGM is the next studio to get onboard with this because I just realized that Creed is one of the movies that didn’t transfer over from my VUDU library 😢

Alright, got to a computer with iTunes & attempted to redeem on a movie on there. It shows that I can download the movie from the store, but it's not showing up in my library. Shouldn't it show up instantly in my library?

Perfect, thanks for that.

So now I just need to figure out how ppl tell when iTunes is actually playing the 4k version.. and why my UHD stuff headed to Vudu in SD.
4K codes from Fox 4K Blu Rays seem to be screwed up and port out of iTunes into Vudu as SD. They seem to show up fine in Google Play and Amazon, but Vudu is screwed and that's my preferred.

Others are having this issue and no one seems to have gotten help. I emailed Vudu but they're horrible at support so I'm stressed this is gonna be a pain fixing this and getting the 4K (for me it's Logan and Covenant)

Studios just need to stop this resolution BS and just upgrade everything so there's no issues. Make this stuff easy and people will flock to it. I don't believe this is something that will sort itself.

Nah, it’s not the title. Vudu calls it the same thing as iTunes yet Vudu and MA can sync just fine if you redeem it on either. I assume there’s some other form of studio ID# assigned to each content and iTunes must have the wrong ID so it isn’t being read by MA.

Blade Runner Final Cut is somehow off in the iTunes servers as far as the way it is supposed to coordinate with MA. Vudu and MA seem to communicate about the movie just fine, but iTunes can’t see it in MA and MA won’t see it if you just bought it in iTunes. So iTunes needs a fix for that to make that title correspond to how it is registered in MA.

I don't believe Vudu has ever actually helped me when I have opened a ticket, so once Flixster and such were gone, I was pretty much done with UV. Honestly this whole thing is great, as iTunes will be great for playback and they actually give a shit when something is broken. At least now I don't have 800 or so movies stranded.

TLDR - vudu support sucks so I won't even try to get that fixed.

Mine are no longer playing with HDR, just SDR 1080p now.

Yep now it's doing that for me now too. Bummer but oh well - never expected to get 4K for non iTunes movies.

Hopefully Apple gives us a way to upgrade to a 4K version somehow? Some stuff I don't care about but things like Wonder Woman I would.

Ok so an MA movie syncs from iTunes to MA and from MA to Vudu... then should it next sync via Vudu sharing to another Vudu library since the title is MA?

I’m specfically trying to figure out why an old digital copy like The Dark Knight made its way across Vudu share accounts but Back to the Future Parts 2 and 3 never did

What about localized content though? I assume you are from an english speaking country (canada? UK?) or do you have movies that come with a different primary language?
I’m from the UK. I can’t help you with localised content, sorry.

Does iTunes have a decent selection of UHD titles? VUDU is good, but it’s UHD selection is pretty small.

My buddy bought War for the Planet of the Apes on Vudu. It is showing in my UV locker, but it did not port over to my movies anywhere, other Vudu movies bought since then do port. But they got all of my movies that I bought. Life isn't fair, or complain?

While we wait for an intuitive upgrade path, just gift the movie to yourself. You’ll get a code that you can redeem on your account for the HD/4K version. Or buy the 4K version on Vudu. Wonder Woman is currently the same price as on iTunes for example.

It’s behind Vudu by comparison, but not by a ton. Vudu I believe has ~120 movies where iTunes I believe is a little under 100. The big difference is that Vudu doesn’t have Fox movies because they are HDR10, and iTunes doesn’t have Disney presumably because Disney doesn’t like itunes’ 4K pricing requirements. I’d imagine it won’t be too long before both Disney (pricing) and Vudu (HDR10) change their tunes.

I have Drive and like someone else in the thread mentioned, it’s an MA title but didn’t port into MA. Guess it’s a Blade Runner issue they have to fix too

Drive shows up on my MA. It came from Vudu or iTunes, I had bought it on both.
Then it came from iTunes. Vudu wasn’t read by MA properly it appears. Much like how owning a Blade Runner on Vudu ports it to MA fine but owning it on iTunes won’t be picked up by MA.

Seems the IDs are mismatched or labeled differently for some movies by mistake

I skimmed through the thread before posting, but besides having the Movies Anywhere app for phones/tablets, anything think there will be an app for Roku, Xbox, PS4, and other non-mobile devices that support apps? Thanks!

Every single one of those are able to use Movies Anywhere via multiple apps though.

Roku has Vudu, Amazon, Google Play, and Movies Anywhere apps which all connect to your MA library

PS4 has Vudu & Amazon which connects to your MA library.

I had a Drive code & put it directly into MA, which then showed up everywhere. Maybe that's the best way to go about it unless you have a 4K code.

I redeemed a code for Spider-Man Raimi Trilogy and it came up as 4K on the Sony Pictures UV site but it is HDX in Vudu and it isn’t showing up in my MA locker RIP. Even though these movies are listed in MA when searched

Edit: Synced to everything now but I have no way of checking if it really plays in 4K on iTunes. Vudu says HDX

I used my iPhone 7 to browse the iTunes Store - which I should've done originally - and found some pretty decent films. The only problem is that it only shows the option to buy in HD, not 4K. Will tthe option to buy 4K appear if I proceed to checkout? And will the 4K films I buy on iTunes - Deadpool, for example - show up as UHD in VUDU?

So the new Fox codes that I redeemed (Logan, Independence Day R) haven't ported to my Google Play account. They are in MA, but did not push forward. As mentioned before, they are SD in Vudu.
