Does anyone know of any good websites to buy digital codes? I poke around in the B/S/T thread here every day but it seems really hard to find codes after the initial rush of day one blu ray buyers have sold theirs.
Looking for a Baby Driver code right now if anyone is interested in parting with one.
A bunch of codes I have that expired in 2010 and 2011 still worked today, including some le work to get those DVD based digital copies onto iTunes and then onto my account
Try redeeming directly in MA app. I got inception to work by inputting it directly in the MA app despite it not working in iTunes.Yep. Did the same thing this morning, converted about 20 Blurays that I didnt even know I had the digital copy for, even with expired codes. The only ones that didnt work were Warner Bros Blu-rays, specifically Matrix Trilogy, Batman 1989, Dark Knight Trilogy, And Inception. Kept giving me an error in iTunes. Was thinking of emailing Warner support and seeing if theres anything they can do, doubt it since I bought these movies years ago.

Well the glory days are dead. iTunes now just plays standard HD for movies you don't have a 4K entitlement for. RIP
Yes they do. This mostly affects HD UV movies or purchases coming over from other retailers. But so far 4K movies from other retailers come to iTunes as 4K, and HD digital codes on iTunes directly give the 4K version when available. How do they define 4K entitlement? Like does an UHD movie from Vudu port over UHD?

Is Baby Driver available in 4K on iTunes? I remember it being so, but its showing up as HD in iTunes for me.

Looks like I have some complaining to do then. Right off the bat I can see that several of my UHD movies from Vudu ported over as HD in iTunes now. It wasn't like that before.
One of mine is Pirates - Dead Men Tell No Tales. I redeemed in DMA, ported to Vudu as UHD. Now it's HD in iTunes. On a positive note, the 2 Fox titles I redeemed on iTunes have remained UHD. The same 2 Fox UHD codes that I redeemed in iTunes ported to Vudu as SD.
Edit: Is there not a purchase history or anything for MA?
So is there a definitive way to see if a title is playing properly in iTunes? Since it defaults to whatever output mode is selected, I can't figure out how to know for sure it's not upscaling.

iTunes doesn't have Disney movies in UHD. No one has Pirates in UHD in iTunes.
Disney is not on iTunes in UHD. So no Disney UHD will currently redeem on iTunes.Looks like I have some complaining to do then. Right off the bat I can see that several of my UHD movies from Vudu ported over as HD in iTunes now. It wasn't like that before.

Hmm. You should have gotten 4K in iTunes I thought. Go to the store listing (search) and see if it shows you own it. Or are you looking in iTunes PC? Because that currently doesn't show 4K availability.
My Scott Pilgrim code doesn't work. I totally forgot about redeeming it
Ah interesting. I knew I wasn't crazy!I didnt hear anything about Baby Driver specifically, but some iTunes transfers are weird and got pulled as a result. I watched John Wick 2 in 4K, then last week it went down to HD, now its back to 4K. I did see some weird artifacts a couple times while watching so maybe they fixed that? I know they pulled Ex Machina because the transfer was bad, people said normal HD looked better than the HDR
But to directly answer your question yes Baby Driver was 4K and now its not
4K codes from Fox 4K Blu Rays seem to be screwed up and port out of iTunes into Vudu as SD. They seem to show up fine in Google Play and Amazon, but Vudu is screwed and that's my preferred.Perfect, thanks for that.
So now I just need to figure out how ppl tell when iTunes is actually playing the 4k version.. and why my UHD stuff headed to Vudu in SD.
Ah interesting. I knew I wasn't crazy!
I bought Blade Runner Final Cut via iTunes, but the MA didn't pick it up. I'm guessing it's because MA has it called Blade Runner (Final Cut) and iTunes has it called Blade Runner (The Final Cut)?
Nah, its not the title. Vudu calls it the same thing as iTunes yet Vudu and MA can sync just fine if you redeem it on either. I assume theres some other form of studio ID# assigned to each content and iTunes must have the wrong ID so it isnt being read by MA.Ah interesting. I knew I wasn't crazy!

Others are having this issue and no one seems to have gotten help. I emailed Vudu but they're horrible at support so I'm stressed this is gonna be a pain fixing this and getting the 4K (for me it's Logan and Covenant)
Studios just need to stop this resolution BS and just upgrade everything so there's no issues. Make this stuff easy and people will flock to it. I don't believe this is something that will sort itself.
Not saying you're wrong but I'm not seeing this behavior on my end. They've always played in HD with HDR but they still show 4K in my library.
Mine are no longer playing with HDR, just SDR 1080p now.
Im from the UK. I cant help you with localised content, sorry. What about localized content though? I assume you are from an english speaking country (canada? UK?) or do you have movies that come with a different primary language?
While we wait for an intuitive upgrade path, just gift the movie to yourself. Youll get a code that you can redeem on your account for the HD/4K version. Or buy the 4K version on Vudu. Wonder Woman is currently the same price as on iTunes for example.Yep now it's doing that for me now too. Bummer but oh well - never expected to get 4K for non iTunes movies.
Hopefully Apple gives us a way to upgrade to a 4K version somehow? Some stuff I don't care about but things like Wonder Woman I would.
Its behind Vudu by comparison, but not by a ton. Vudu I believe has ~120 movies where iTunes I believe is a little under 100. The big difference is that Vudu doesnt have Fox movies because they are HDR10, and iTunes doesnt have Disney presumably because Disney doesnt like itunes 4K pricing requirements. Id imagine it wont be too long before both Disney (pricing) and Vudu (HDR10) change their tunes.Im from the UK. I cant help you with localised content, sorry.
Does iTunes have a decent selection of UHD titles? VUDU is good, but its UHD selection is pretty small.
I buy my codes from the blu-ray.com forums. Plenty of people there do it for all kinds of films and new releases. I know I'll find a 4k spiderman homecoming code for like $5 tomorrow.
I have Drive and like someone else in the thread mentioned, its an MA title but didnt port into MA. Guess its a Blade Runner issue they have to fix too
Then it came from iTunes. Vudu wasnt read by MA properly it appears. Much like how owning a Blade Runner on Vudu ports it to MA fine but owning it on iTunes wont be picked up by MA.Drive shows up on my MA. It came from Vudu or iTunes, I had bought it on both.
Just use VuduI skimmed through the thread before posting, but besides having the Movies Anywhere app for phones/tablets, anything think there will be an app for Roku, Xbox, PS4, and other non-mobile devices that support apps? Thanks!

Seems the IDs are mismatched or labeled differently for some movies by mistake

I used my iPhone 7 to browse the iTunes Store - which I should've done originally - and found some pretty decent films. The only problem is that it only shows the option to buy in HD, not 4K. Will tthe option to buy 4K appear if I proceed to checkout? And will the 4K films I buy on iTunes - Deadpool, for example - show up as UHD in VUDU?Its behind Vudu by comparison, but not by a ton.
