Saddly that can be applied to most of the early reviews.
Man what a baby, that dude is.

They didn't randomly select you from a select few.
These early commentsDecline in scores perfectly represents how I feel about this series.
The track selection definitely implies DLC tracks. Pretty anti-consumer, but hey, that's the norm now.I can understand the switch to Sport and less cars. No problem at all.
You would expect that they would focus on tracks because of it.
Then they come up with 15 tracks after a production cycle of 4 years. WTF.
Instead of putting time and effort in those scapes they should have made more tracks.

Came back next week I think you will be surprise with the score.
I'm sorry I can't agree.I can understand the switch to Sport and less cars. No problem at all.

It will probably go upYou know that most likely the score will go lower, right? WIP reviews aren't exactly raving about the game.

Yeah, should have called it GTS Prologue and sold it for 40. Not even weather, that is so embarrassing.
(I'm not saying it's embarrassing but, the game took years to make and the last two entries had the feature at launch. It actually becomes more embarrassing when you start comparing to certain other seriesl, which used to get criticized for not having it, and now the roles are reversed despite that series putting out 2 games within the same timespan. Yes there will be more features and content later. But when is it coming? Is it going to be free? Paid? We don't know. We can only judge what's here at this point in time. Why is it so embarrassing??? It took certain other series 6-7 iterations before weather became availbale. They are gonna support GT Sport with plenty of features and content.
It was called GT Sport Beta version. It was called the demo in the ps blog, but has been referred to as the beta by PD each time and the title on the PS Home screen also says Beta., I'm not confusing anything. It was in fact, a beta, not a demo. I am talking about the thing that just happened just over a week ago.
And no, not everyone should be expected to have tried out something that was only available for a few days, a week before a game releases. Same goes for open betas for any other game. News doesn't reach everyone in time, and not everyone is readily available to play a beta which was not available on a weekend.
Nice anecdote. Here's mine. Most of my casual gamer friends read or watch reviews and check metacritic ratings for games before deciding on buying a game or not.So do you think the majority of casuals who buy FIFA and COD read reviews and extensively research the games before they buy them???? Because you'll be in for a shock. Most of my casual gamer friends had FIFA pre-ordered. That's 30+ copies of a game that non of them read a review on. Some tried the demo.
It's the hardcore gamers who read reviews and visit sites like gaf to research games etc.

I doubt it.It will probably go up
Meta didnt add the 8 and 9 and there are a lot of reviews to come yet.
Lets see how it will turn.

The fact that you think that everyone interested at this point in the game should've tried out an open beta for the game that was limited should've tipped me off on the logic you're using (as in not very good) and I should've stopped replying a while ago rather than wasting my time. But alas, I fell for it. Either it's an elaborate troll, or you live in a fantasy world where everyone plays their PS4 and visits the store every day, has time throughout the week to play, and keeps up with GT news all the time.

The idea that the average potential Gran Turismo buyer not only is aware of the beta taking place, but that they are also prepared for a near 50gb download and that they have the time for it during the weekdays, is just fucking ridiculous.
That's just how PD works is one of the biggest BS excuses I've seen for GT games. That is not a legitimate excuse, that is a failing on their part. The fact that this phrase even exists is embarrassing.Maybe your new to this I don't know but that's just how PD work. They fucking take ages. They've had to restart the whole game from scratch so it's obviously took them alot longer. They aren't a huge studio. Turn 10 I think have 300 and PD 200 employees. Also I don't think they outsource anything either. On top of that Forza has 2 studio's collaborating and sharing tech and tools etc. I'm sure PD will make an announcement soon on their plans. The game only just launched so have a little patience.
(...) PD never stated GT Sport was gonna be like the previous GT's. They had an event where they announced the direction the game was taking. It would be online focused with reduced car count etc.
Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has stated the online portion of the game only accounts for roughly 15% of the game.
...
Furthermore, the series creator goes one further and suggests the remaining 85% of GT Sport's content focuses on offline experiences. Of that remaining percentage is the single player campaign consisting of four key areas: Driving School; Mission Challenge; Circuit Experience; and Racing Etiquette.
This news comes hot on the heels of concerns that GT Sport's online focus comes at the cost of the series' established formula. If online play really is only a small percentage of the game, traditionalists can rest easy, especially with Polyphony Digital confirming there are no plans in place for GT7.

76 on Metacritic and Opencritic. Ouch.
Chill. It's early days. The game was never going to get glowing reviews out of the gate because of the relatively small amount of content and heavy focus on multiplayer. One of my favourite games of the gen, Rainbow Six Siege, had a very similar start to life.76 on Metacritic and Opencritic. Ouch.

They are an inefficient studio that take much longer to make games and spend way too much time on aspects that more often than not do not work out in the long run (see: "future proofed" models in gt5 & gt6)
Based on 4 reviews man, the "ouch" is to make GT enthusiasts feel pain or something?

Did I say anywhere that I didn't have time? I played the beta.Your sound like one of those people who's always busier than everyone else and never has any time because your too busy carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. But you have plenty of time to be on social networks like Facebook and visit GAf every day.
I wouldn't be here if I wasn't interested in the game.If you have no interest in the game stop complaining. Your not entitled to have anything.
Well actually, no. While I knew the direction this game was taking, they have actually tried to compare this to past entries over the last couple of months and stating stuff like "nothing has been cut" "features have only been added" and "85% of the game experience is oifline"PD never stated GT Sport was gonna be like the previous GT's/ They had an event where they announced the direction the game was taking. It would be online focused with reduced car count etc. They have stated the model they will use is one where they will release one entry and then support that entry with continued features and content. Take it or leave it.
It's embarrassing that a game franchise I care so much for can get mishandled so much, I don't care about the competition, you're the one that brought it into the argument in the first place. If it's embarrassing for you or the competition have a better product go buy that and rave on over there.
And... plenty of people didn't get the chance to either because they found out too late or didn't have the time when the beta was running due to it being on weekdays. There was a demo released for people to try the game. More than a million did.
I know total bullshit huh dude???? Yet their games outsell the competition. Even their worst entry wipes the floor with the others. I wish I had a studio with such a failure. Kaz is such an embarrassment right?
Without this studio maybe racing games might not be what they are today? I'm glad they try things that aren't the norm. Maybe you should stick to another more timely franchise?
The casual gamers will buy the game because it's GT.Just like they buy FIFA and COD every year. Why do you think the sales are so front loaded? Do you think they wait for reviews and downloading demos?
GT 5 and 6 were well supported. I see no reason to believe different this time.
Because there's zero communications on whether it would actually be free. Something developers would be glad to be saying pre-release especially as a way to counteract the negativity that would stem from the lower-car and track count in the base game compared to past entries and current competitors.
Explains what? I played the beta, got gold on all the non-rally events, the SP content was exactly as anticipated except for the endurance race at the end, and the online races didn't hook me.That explains alot actually.
Did you buy the game?

And I'll channel you for a bit: How about you stop complaining in a review thread about people reading reviews to make a decision about the game because it's a ridiculous thing to complain about in the first place, and stop acting like the beta was known to everyone and everyone had time to play it on the weekdays it was active, not to mention had the bandwidth to spare to download a 43 gig file.
Are we sure if translator Kaz got it right with the percentage?
This explains a lot, you seem to write and forget what you wrote right after.I didn't bring up the competition you did. Maybe you should go back and re-read what you typed.
This is the post that first mentions a "certain series", I only start referring to it in reply and after this post. So yes, you are the one who brought it up first. Why is it so embarrassing??? It took certain other series 6-7 iterations before weather became availbale. They are gonna support GT Sport with plenty of features and content.
Okay and... does that stop the game from getting criticized for having a low car count when there is competition and previous games to compare to? No it doesn't.They have stated the game will have less cars.
That's nice, and how long is this going to take, when is the first pack going to release? Is it going to be free? Also, while I obviously believe more cars and tracks will be coming, Kaz stating something does not make it true. He stated that this game would be an 85% offline experience. Clearly not true. He also said there were no features cut from past GT games. That is also clearly not true. They have also stated they will add cars and tracks. Kaz himself stated the final car count will be 400-500.
Percenteage is technically right I guess. Online you only have Sport Mode and lobbies. Two modes, even if that's where you'll spend the majority of time. Are we sure if translator Kaz got it right with the percentage?

I had decided to buy this game at a later date when the MSRP drops to below or equal to what they charged for GT5 Prologue because that's basically what it's worth to me, but unfortunately with the news of offline progress requiring an online connection, this game now falls into my "not buying till changed" category.
I have strict principles in regards to online connections being required in games for aspects that don't justify it, and this game ends up falling into that. I've had to skip 3 games so far that I was interested in due to this, but this one will be the hardest since I've been waiting for a GT game for 6 years now and have been a fan of the franchise since the first one released.
I love it when people have to end their statement with 'I'm a fan of this series from the start'. Because maybe it adds validity to their opinion or they have an entitlement of expectation.
