The video capture feature is neat but my test from Zelda looked kind of laggy in playback.

Every single video capture I've seen posted so far works the exact same way :

It plays for about seven seconds at poor quality, buffers for about three seconds, then continues the rest of the clip at better quality. It does the same thing every time I restart the clip. Is this happening for anyone else?

First time I've seen the Switch update the Joy-Cons. I had to do this manually even though the Joy-Cons were connected when the system updated.

Also, I think sending error info is now opt-in. There wasn't an option before if I recall correctly.

I'm excited about it and own both, and have used both a lot. This version is less well baked but still nice to see, who gives a shit if people are happy when something good happens?

Probably won't get (save game backups) till Nintendo finds a way to prevent them to opening the backdoor to piracy as that was how the Wii and 3DS got hacked.

I look for any save game backup solution to involve online for this very reason. Maybe even a part of the paid service so don’t expect it until then.

It's a step.

It's really not. It has a totally different functionality. The transfer feature is for family members/friends getting their own Switch, so they can get their save files from the shared Switch onto their own Switch(es). That's not a backup feature, but as the name suggests, a transfer feature.

More details here. So yeah, only 4 games support video capture, but it's a start.

Uh oh. I'm afraid that if they don't make the video capture a mandatory feature it won't be commonly supported. For example the PS3 had the ability to record and upload footage built into the OS but individual games needed special coding to take advantage of it. As far as I know only four games ever used it.

We were going to transfer my wife's BotW save, which is on our first Switch to our second one, but it wants to unsync the account on the system and she's scared to death it'll delete her Splatoon 2 save. Guess we'll wait a while..

His save and profile were in my Switch, and then he got his own Switch. Now he can transfer all of his stuff and we can play on our original save files together.
