Sony Playstation: First Party Studios & their Current Projects

Oh, nice! Where did this happen?

At Brazil Game Show!

Aw dude, I would have loved to hear some info from first-hand experience with Days Gone! :(

It was hands off tho. But I was looking forward to watch the presentation, it was the same as they did at E3 as far as I know, showing all the different variants the environment can cause on gameplay

TBH, I hope Sony Bend is seeing the current BR mode craze and implementing one in Day's Gone.

The combination of Open World + Bike + Freakers + BR would be absolutely epic!

this is a good pitch, and Days Gone is Unreal 4 which is getting some features focused on BR because of PUBG and Fortnite, so could work well

They are solely single player focused right now tho, but maybe in the future!

I remember when the Project Trico (The Last Guardian) trailer leaked. I just got into a huge fight with my guild in WoW and got kicked out. Then I saw the leaked trailer and cried tears of joy. I logged back onto WoW and whispered my (old) guild leader not to apologize (there was a lot of build up before then) but was like "I'm chill. Everything is so good right now and I'm so happy".

I hope they find a way to or at least experiment with the Human to Human combat in the upcoming DLC. That's about the only major flaw I had with the main game.

Looks great. Even though I'd love to see what the new machines are, I want to be surprised to see them when I actually play the DLC.

Guys, I'm looking for an interview from ages ago and I'm sure it was with Shu Yoshida where he talks about 1st & 3rd party definitions and basically says that '2nd party' isn't a real term. I don't suppose anyone knows what I'm talking about, do they? It seems my Google-fu skills are not up to scratch. Thanks in advance.

I do know what you're talking about. I can't remember exactly where it was, or look it up right now, but I'm pretty sure it was with Kinda Funny Games, probably at E3 one year

I remember an interview in one of the sega magazines around the time of the Dreamcast launch with one of the sega head honchos. They're talking about their development partners for the launch and refer to them as second party developers.

I've looked for it before and just tried again there but couldn't find it.

Played some Detroit yesterday (the Connor demo) and now Im way more hyped about it. The whole investigation and reconstruction aspect of it was really cool to play with, and character performance is really amazing

Awesome, really excited for this.

Some new HZD Frozen Wilds screenshots, and they look gooood

Gorgeous.

Would be interesting if they try some stuff out, I'm curious but at the same time I kind of feel like the actual sequel is when they'll overhaul that.

No I thought he said they're moving from ARPG.

Or is that he said absolutely no BB2, now I don't remember.
He said nothing this year as far as announcements go. And no BB2. But they are absolutely working on an ARPG. Forgot where I got it from, but i read that the setting was similar to Apocalypto.

Aight, let this be the definitive "Things Killer Queen said" post. Save it, bookmark it, do what you gotta do. Yes it includes public information, no it's not all super secret and not all of it is 100%, some things are educated guesses on my part.

-Currently no plans for Bloodborne 2 and there doesn't seem to be any room in their schedule from what I hear. Was confirmed to me a second time on the day of Sony's E3 that no Bloodborne 2 was greenlit.

-No plans for more "Souls" games. Yes Bloodborne is a souls game. They're all counted under the same umbrella internally it seems. That means no:
Dark Souls 4
Bloodborne 2
Demon's Souls 2
At least over at Fromsoft as Fromsoft doesn't own the Demon's Souls or Bloodborne IPs

-From has multiple games in development right now along with others in planning or conceptual phases, obviously none of which would be any of the above

-From will not only be making ARPGs in the future and will explore other ideas, obviously Armored Core is one such franchise

-From will keep making ARPGs even outside of their next ARPG. So it's not unlikely that they would partner with Sony or even Xbox to make a new exclusive game

-I have reason to believe the new ARPG will be multiplatform rather than exclusive, educated guess. But I'm about 98% confident in that assessment.

-The whole Mayan theme along with a focus on martial arts isn't anything like what I've been told personally, there's always the posibility that it could be in development at Fromsoft as I don't have knowledge of all of From's projects and quite honestly what I do know is fairly limited. But in regards to Froms next ARPG, some of those details are at odds with what I was told. Not going to go into detail.

-Froms next ARPGs won't be as closely knit together as the Souls games and be more varied. What exactly that entails I don't know.

-The next ARPG is the natural evolution of Fromsoft ARPGs and will incorporate everything they've learned as developers.

-The reveal of this game is supposed to be a big event and is particularly important to Fromsoft. In terms of reveal dates, I had asked 3 things regarding a potential reveal date. "Would it be at E3(2017)? TGS(2017)? Or would we see it this year?" The answer I got was kind of "don't hold your breath" though I later got extra confirmation the day before E3 that there would be no reveal at the event. The fact that it's supposed to be a big event is why I wouldn't expect it to show up at anything lesser than an E3 or Fromsoft revealing it on their own terms.

Yes obviously any game Fromsoft is making means lot to them, but it was stressed to me that this one is the one. Regarding the reveal dates of their projects I can't say, wording was iffy though I'd personally expect armored core roughly near the new ARPG.

-The game won't be tonally as dark as Bloodborne.

Now this isn't a comprehensive list of everything I've been told, just what I feel is fairly harmless to share and a recap of things I've already posted over the last few months(year?)

Though moving forward it's going to be a subject I engage in far far less both for personal reasons and ethical reasons. So keep this handy.

Very exciting stuff. A few tidbits on FROM's next APRG project is enough to excite me for now. Bring on 2018!

i would love to see a colourful fantasy Rpg by FromSoftware.

Just wanna see what they can pull of with their artists and monster designers, if its not a dark gritty & scary setting.

The job listing spotted last year was for a "Dark Fantasy RPG", so it will be dark. Few games are as dark as BB, so that statement doesn't say much. Same here, FROM has the best artists in the business!

welp..guess there goes my hope.
nevertheless a new ip by FromSoftware is still very exciting.

Next E3 is going to be huge

Killer, I thank you for your post, but these are daggers man, daggers.

It's probably nothing, but does anyone know why the US PS account is currently using an avatar of the PS symbol with a purple background? Any time they switch it from the current system theme (the one with the blue background) it's usually to match something. But I can't think of anything with a purple theme.
