Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen PS4/XB1 |OT| They're master ports all, you can't go wrong

Anyone know why the game keeps giving me weapons/armor that's not specific to my class? I'm currently an assassin and my pawn is strider and this is what I've gotten weapon wise so far.

2x bitter end
1x boltbringer
2x revenant wail
1x dread aspis
1x virge of madness

Bbi purification results are based on 3 color of classes: red(warrior and fighter); yellow(strider and ranger); blue(mage and sorcerer)
Hybrid classes fall under 2 of those colors

The game looks at what color is in your team and spit out gear for it

In your case, you will get both red AND yellow results
That means you can get weapons for fighter, warrior, strider, ranger, magick archer, assassin AND mystick knight!
That's not good

You will want to limit your team to a single color during purification

Strider/ranger - yellow - only gives you strider ranger assassin and magick Archer weapons

Fighter/warrior - red - gives you only fighter warrior assassin and mystic Knight weapons

Is it dumb to equip BB items before I meet the level requirement b/c of stamina penalty?
It`s not dumb if you are a sorcerer using focused bolts

^^^ I’m Strider and Ranger. My girls are level 26 and someone very generously gifted me 2 BB items which turned into Sapfire and the other level 2 daggers.

Grace period happens when someone kills the ur dragon. For the following 30-40 minutes afterwards everyone starts the ur dragon fight at the same health with the same number and position of hearts. If I remember correctly you need to take out all hearts in the grace period to get the kill. Some hearts are super annoying to get, some are easy. Bring a makers finger if there is an annoying heart to kill it quickly.

Ur dragon has like 3 billion total HP
So that tiny fraction of the health bar u see actually represents like 3million HP or something

I see, thank you. So basically I'm most likely not going to kill it even when he is in grace period as the remaining health is anyway very very high.
Will consider trying to take him down once I reach higher level and power up all my gears.

I don't think we have a Fearless and Explorer inclination in Dragon's Dogma, haha.

You are right, I missed the appropriate English translation of it from Italian...
Correct one would be Scather/Acquisitor as I learned from the wikia of DD.
Now editing :D

Is there a thread for the grace period on the Ur-dragon?

Finally farmed two framae blades. Got one to yellow, working on second. Took me a bit, but have all the gear on my pawn dragon forged. Working on getting the best eq and yellow for everything now. Might take a week or so.

Would you guys prefer a Ranger or Fighter?

Purification items are items you and your pawn can use.

Assassin is mix of red and yellow classes, so you can get anything a fighter, warrior, assassin, mystic knight, strider, ranger, magic archer could get.

If you want daggers and shortbow, switch to strider during purification, this will limit you to just strider, ranger, magic archer weapons (assassin has no unique weapons).

Applies to the armour and which classes it for also.

Edit: missed new page with it answered.

Is there anything else to be done to limit the table for armor? I'm trying to get a set of Carrion gear which according to the wiki is Mage/Sorcerer/Magick Archer usable but when I leave my character a MA, I'm getting second and third dupes of Shadow gear and if both are Mage/Sorcerer its second and third dupes for Grave gear. I've got one piece of Carrion gear. Meanwhile I've almost got 3 full sets of Shadow and almost a second full set of Grave. :/

Assassin has actually been glitched since PS3 and only gives Red items. It is actually impossible to get Daggerist Band if you are Assassin when purifying.

I actually realized that making the levels from 100 to 200 is way easier and faster than I expected/remembered. Rushing Daimon with double exp item popped just before killing the first form grants you an outrageous amount of exp. Like some 2.2mio or something (500k * 2 + 600k * 2 if you have low level pawns hired compared to you).

Main pawn getting super powerfull, made some 30 levels in 2 hours.

PSN: Darksheik
Pawn: John
Class: Fighter
Level: ~180
Inclinations: Scather/Acquisitor

MA is blue/yellow class mix so might get items for either. While you purify switch to Mage or Sorcerer. Pawn too.

Grave gear is more common, so just keep trying for Carrion. I'm almost 200 and don't have a full set of either endgame armour, some pieces I have 5+ times though.

Well, I'm moving over to the new place, so most likely this is going to be my last post in the GAF part of the community.

Last update, though she's level 130 right now.

I need some serious guidance and advice from the community right now guys, because this game continues to defy my understanding. Just when I'm kicking ass and taking names, suddenly I'm at the final boss battle with this dragon. Ok yadda yadda I'm back in the world, talk to the Duke etc. now everyone's attacking me and I fall in this hole and now here's these purple eye-tentacle dudes that are kicking my ass.

- For like the last two hours of gametime I feel railroaded and have had barely any time to catch my breath or do anything and now WTF is going on? Do I just have to fight these guys?

- Is shit going to calm down at some point so I can do skills for me and my pawn, visit a merchant etc?

- Basically WTF someone I don't care about spoilers?

- I'm like level 41 but I see these level 100+ pawns and stuff, is this new game+ or how are people getting such high levels?

I can't answer your first three questions, but for your fourth question, I'm guessing people grinding the expansion area (Bitterblack Isle), I believe NG+ didn't alter difficulty or experience gain at anny form. Personally I'm level 61 and still doing quest for Aldous (the Duke's Chamberlain). I can see reaching level 70 before the dragon, spends so much time doing sidequests and messing around killing Griffin/Chimera/Cyclops/Drake.

Are you doing sidequests ? There are tons of sidequest easily missed if you don't use walkthrough/guide and they gives decent experience (plus all the experience from the enemies you fight)

I'm loving this game, I bought it on PS3 and played maybe a few hours because of performance issues.. I couldn't stand it. Coming back to it just feels like a brand new game. A lot of exploring, it's more like Skyrim in my opinion than other action RPGs. Actually it feels really similar to Reckoning.

The game for me feels like a combination of Dragon Age, Skyrim, Fable, Monster Hunter and Dark Souls.

10.30.17 UPDATE

PSN ID: Akuma_818
Pawn name: Isabel
Pawn level: 200
Pawn vocation: Ranger
Addition details: Currently leveling, will eventually be a Strider. Doing some Pre-Daimon BBI farming at the moment. Please take my pawn along for bestiary/geography knowledge.

I kind of decided to start over (mostly for OCD reasons), but my pawn is still available at max level on the server. Once I iron out the kinks, I will re-sync my final version.

I have a question:
Does the order you purchase skills and augments in matter? They are not in alphabetical order and once you purchase them you can't undo the process. I was just wondering if anyone knew if skills and augments always display in some predetermined order or if it depends on which was purchased first/last etc.

Nah it doesn't matter what order you choose. Just choose the ones that you think they will be more helpful at the point where you are .Just keep in mind that you'll first have to purchase the weak versions of the skills in order to unlock the more powerful ones. Eventually it's best you purchase everything. :p

My question about the skill / augment order is a little more specific. What I meant by order is: Does the order of purchase determine their placement when I choose them? Or is it level unlock order? Or is it a set order?

For example: Assassin augments unlock in the following order:
Watchfulness 1
Entrancement 2
Sanguinity 3
Bloodlust 4
Preemption 6
Toxicity 8
Autonomy 9

Is this the order they show up in when you go to the select skills page? Do they show up in a different order if I buy them in reverse order or alphabetical order?

Of course I was planning on testing this myself, I was just wondering if anyone knew.

PS. This is not a "useful" or generally relevant thing to know, it is more of an OCD thing (ie. can I get things to display in alphabetical order?).

I guess thats considered a end game/post game dungeon. That hole is called the everfall, and thats where more high level mobs and bosses live.

Finally hit level 200! Didn't think it was possible.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, I would like to pay it forward and gift out some bbi level 3 pre-purified weapons I have stashed.

If we are already friends, send me a message on psn. If not, add me on psn and I'll send out a batch tonight and another batch every 2-3 days until I'm out. Psn name is same as gaf name.

I believe I still have her as a Ranger on the server, will sync up later today and update her. She is now a BEAST (also uses Blast Arrows and Conqueror's Periapts efficiently), it is fun watching stuff get wrecked by pawns.

Any optimized Sorcerers or Mages here? Since my Arisen and Pawn are both physical damage specialists, it looks like I need some magic users to dispatch the occasional Living Armor.

Finally got a Hellfire Cloak, my pawn was lacking the crucial 100% Possession resistance. Nothing worse than having your bad-ass pawn turn around and destroy you with a well placed Brain Splitter :-(

I can't believe I can't get a Delta Guard, so many Lv.2 purifies and nothing. Will continue the grind later today. I picked up 2 new pawns of the last 2 people that hired mine (not sure if GAF or not), but I have run them through BBI once already and plan to do so again today.

Deep breaths, you're near the end.

For like the last two hours of gametime I feel railroaded and have had barely any time to catch my breath or do anything and now WTF is going on? Do I just have to fight these guys?

There's a quest you can get on one of the platforms in the hole that will ask you to farm up a bunch of a certain item from the monsters- that's the critical path.

Is shit going to calm down at some point so I can do skills for me and my pawn, visit a merchant etc?

Shit is not going to calm down. However, you can get back to town to visit a merchant and skill up (or go back to the open world to do some new message board quests), just keep falling and land when you see the outcrop.

Basically WTF someone I don't care about spoilers?

I know rite? Best route back to a peaceful farming life at this point is probably to push on to NG+

- I'm like level 41 but I see these level 100+ pawns and stuff, is this new game+ or how are people getting such high levels?

Yeah that's NG+, you can farm the hell out of this game

And the Bitterblack Isle DLC is like a whole other layer on top of that. Even my super double endgame plus ultra team wasn't ready for the deeper levels of that place when I tried it.

Thanks for the feedback. I did calm down and push through, have fought some monsters down there, got that quest that leads to the end of the game. The sudden shift is just weird considering the whole game it seems the point is just to kill the dragon, then you do and the world goes haywire.

Anyway I've taken a break for a bit to play other things, at some point I'll be back to farm up those items to at least see the proper ending.

is there any other way to get lots of RC besides people renting my pawn? My pawn is level 50+ ranger, but it seems like he doesn't get rented much.

I wouldn't call it broken, but Magick Archer is the best vocation for almost every situation.

There will be times your physical attacks wont effect enemies, Magick Archer doesn't have that problem.

There will be times you have to fight an enemy at a range your vocation is bad at, Magick Archer doesn't have that problem.

There will be times you need a mage or a stockpile of curatives to keep yourself alive, Magick Archer still manages to be able to avoid even that problem.

But the draw back is that you have to play as a Sorcerer up till 200 to make them work :(

at level 50 you can attempt bitter black isle, that place has a ton of RC, there are mimics that give out perfect rift crystals(10,000 RC) if you manage to kill them before they disappear

Unfortunately, getting your pawn rented is the best way to earn Rift Crystals. You can run BBI for Rift Crystals (everything outside of there is worthless for Rift Crystal farming). Even then, the amount you get is relatively low.

Took me what seems like forever to grind out 200k Rift Crystals offline last week. Then I finally logged back in this week and my pawn came back with 500k from 2 people.

I could take your pawn for a few runs, but since it is a low level I can't guarantee you I will be able to 5 star you if there are deaths I can't take back. Let me know, my info is above, gl.

thanks man, i really appreciate it. BTW, what happens if my pawn dies? does he not get any RC? I will add you on psn when i get home.

thank you for the info. The first time i ran into a mimic it killed me. I am a higher level now, and will try again.
