Why didn't they release this during the Apocalypse movie last year?
Why didn't they release this during the Apocalypse movie last year?
How's things? Have they added any new omega prestige characters yet? Hope I don't get banned for necro bumping >.>
I don't think so, and not even one has come to PC yet. They even delayed the first omega prestige on PC to January 2018.
They are claiming 2 per month, though.
They recently did a Q&A with the CEO that was supposed to be live streamed, then cancelled the stream a few days prior. They still did the AMA but in text format and predictably provided mostly nothing answers.
The biggest question of which was for them to clarify if the PC license was extended past 2019 along with the console license as they have dodged answering that question repeatedly. They dodged it again this time so we still don't know.
The game looks more dire than even 2 weeks ago if you can believe it.
Spider-Woman uses a mix of melee and ranged attacks, and has heavy themes of debuffs and crowd control. Applying damage over time or crowd control effects, then using other powers to exploit and combo into those effects, are a large part of how Spider-Woman will play as you level her. When talents unlock, her playstyle is more in your hands - you may choose to play her as a more agile brawler, a Venom blaster, make her crowd control effects more potent, or mix and match these components to create your own interpretation.
More details and previews will become available as we get closer to her launch, which is tentatively planned for release with the Omega patch by November 23.
In order to make leveling the same character seventy times not mandatory, while still preserving a reward structure that makes those who do enjoy leveling gain a benefit, we are restructuring the Omega Prestige rewards as follows:
Instead of removing power entirely, we are instead frontloading some of the bonuses onto Omega Prestige 1 (final values still being determined). This means that the Omega Traits will have much more potency as soon as they are acquired, and will not require any further leveling to get more powerful. All of the power gained from Omega Prestige will be given immediately, up-front.
Whenever an Omega Prestige level is gained, you will earn a Prestigious Loot Shard. Five of these Loot Shards can be combined into a Prestigious Loot Box, which is similar in contents and distribution to the Marvelous Loot Box, though it will not rotate its contents as the Marvelous Box does. Every 5 Omega Prestige ranks will earn you one of these boxes, and they don't have to be earned on the same hero continuously. This means that each Omega Prestige hero also contains 14 Loot Boxes available to acquire as a reward for further leveling.
To make the leveling process smoother for those who are doing continuous leveling, we are installing a new reward for Omega Prestige owners - a Set of items usable at level 1 which provide scaling benefits as the hero levels. These slot 1-5 items should keep you at a steady, consistent, and potent power level all the way up to level 60, but are expected to be replaced with well-rolled Cosmics or Omega items.
Additionally, with this change we'll also be increasing the stack sizes of Omega Essence and Fractured Omega Essence. Going forward these will stack to 200 and 500 respectively. Freeing up a bit of space so you can carry the loot from your new Prestigious Loot Boxes!
Lastly, since this is a change that is being rolled out after we already rolled out the system and its associated store features, we are offering compensation in the form of double Prestigious Loot Shards up to the point the new rewards are released. This means that for every Omega Prestige level you have earned so far, you will retroactively earn two Shards instead of one. Every 2.5 Omega Prestige levels will earn you the new Prestigious Loot Box.
The safety, health and well-being of our employees is Gazillion's number one priority. We are an equal opportunity employer and, like many Bay Area residents, take great pride in the diversity of our friends, family, coworkers and community. Harassment of any kind within our ranks is not tolerated. Should any allegations be made, they are investigated thoroughly with the utmost of respect and confidentiality afforded the complainant, and in compliance with company policy and California law. We do not and will not comment on rumor, gossip or third-party allegations from the vastness of the Internet.
Definitely don't judge the company based on the CEO, Dave Dohrmann (that's his actual real name which he had to change for reasons that a simple google will illustrate).
His reputation for inappropriate conduct, especially towards women, is something that "industry insiders" are aware of talk about behind closed doors. His conduct has been tolerated because he often controls the money flow and is a good talker. This is a problem at some tech companies and needs to be addressed much more assertively.
I won't post the blog about him or get into details, but I will say that the regular employees Gazillion are very solid people and probably deserve a much better example of leadership.
I knew about his behavior a couple of years ago, as did the members of the board from that time and other executives in the company, even before they made him CEO. I could have said something and they certainly had the power to do something about it. I know they feared that Marvel would find out and it would harm the license renewals or the business, but that's no excuse.
I didn't say very much because I had friends at the company (and still do) and I didn't want them to lose the Marvel license and have to close the company - but reasons like that are why people get away with it for so long.
Well that's just awful stuff all around. Wonder if word will get to the ears of someone who can and will shut this down.
It's implied by Doomsaw that anyone in a position to do anything already knew.
On the Gaz side of things. But what about Marvel/Disney?
It's implied by Doomsaw that anyone in a position to do anything already knew.
People always know. Everyone knew about Weinstein. It's just that no one in power gives a shit until the public outcry gets so loud that they HAVE to denounce/fire him. Dudes being creeps is practically embedded into the system.
What a sad, terrible thing to happen to the company I used to look at as the scrappy, well-meaning underdog. At this point Marvel really should yank the carpet out and let the company burn, and hopefully the people there that aren't creeps land on the their feet quickly at a better place.
yes fuck all those employees because the CEO thats been there for months only is a creep, that makes total sense
Did you miss the entire back half of my post? I feel terrible for the employees there, hell, even before this news came out. Their game is circling the drain, their days have been numbered anyway. Now with this I don't see how it's not an inevitability. At least with Marvel pulling the plug and making a stand the game shutting down will mean something and maybe send a message. Now is the time to do it with everything coming out everywhere.
Otherwise it gets ignored and the game and studio shuts down within a year anyway and oh well.
"let the company burn and hope that the non-creeps land on their feet" is a nice magical world type of thing to say. Being unemployed sucks mate.
Imagine if the CEO of whatever company you work for was a creep, and they shut down the whole thing just for him, now you cant pay the rent. Yay
I think you might want to skip it. There's a reason no one's playing anymore, the game is a shadow of what it once was.I used to play this on PC. It was good fun for a while. I havent played for a long time.
I might jump on tonight, as Im curious to see what is going on with it now.
So this is it I assume? Xth week without news and no Thor movie tie-in yet.
I don't see any other company buying the broken mess that is MHO but one can hope... it is the only Marvel MMO out there after all that is kind of fun (if you ignore all the latest cash-grab or annoying gameplay changes). Can't believe I've put 200h+ into this game..
Wow there's no Thor Ragnarok tie-in?
Wow there's no Thor Ragnarok tie-in?
No because barely any logic is handled on the client itself. Its all server side. Theyd have to either ship a heavily modified local server with the game client or completely rewrite the game. This game has local couch multiplayer correct? But I also understand that it is a free-to-play, micro-transaction type of game; aka the type of game that I usually avoid. What are the chances that a stand-alone version of the game gets released once the servers and service is shut down I wonder? Kind of like an Ultimate Alliance style package. Anyone think this could potentially happen?
They probably reused parts of the old costume system the game had during the closed betas. That one was perfect in terms of layout/UI. Sucks that they went cashgrab and replaced it with the one we have now.An Omega difficulty trial? If the emphasis is still on DPS, rather than survival (due to the clock), then Im sure I wont enjoy it.
I remember hearing about that costume equipping system ages ago. I generally support anything that gives me more stash space.
Sorry for double post but big (bad) news, all MHO games are being shut down: https://kotaku.com/disney-shuts-down-marvel-heroes-1820475273
I guess we've all seen the writing on the walls.
But what about Omega Items?!
