This was Microsoft's chance to really shine, Sony wasn't going to show up at this E3 so they had ample opportunity here to talk with 3rd parties and show ton of exclusives world premieres and so forth, and while a few of them definitely did show it feels like most of them were things we already knew about or kind of lackluster...
Honestly if I had to grade the conference I would give it may be as C or C+plus... wasn't the worst by any stretch, but ultimately just a little disappointing and underwhelming
Pros
Microsoft finally quit using that stupid and dubious exclusive voiceover
Ori looks amazing
There were some really impressive Indies there, Spirit Farer, Return to the woods to name a few
Spent as little time as possible showing off mobile games like gears pop
Phantasy Star Online 2 baby
Continued Support of current games including forza horizon for, State of Decay 2...
Flight simulator returns as does Age of Empires hell yes
Cons
Way too many CG trailers, and way too little gameplay
All the bravado for the next Gen. Xbox and it honestly sounded pretty much like the next Gen. Playstation
No truly huge announcements That would blow people away, be It timed exclusivity, or just an exclusive title.
Lack of fanfare or applause for Flight simulator and Age of Empires II
WTF Moments
Gears 5 showing being staging and Cg...plus Terinator tie in
Halo 5 In game footage being shown hopefully for the xbox oneX and not the scarlet.
Cross Gen or not that was surprisingly underwhelming although crisp.
Acquisition of Double Fine, putting the release of psychonauts 2 into question for the PS4...
I was part of the Kickstarter campaign for that game, and supposedly have a playstation 4 copy coming my way special edition, will I have to change that to an xbox edition and what happens to those who don't own an xbox?
Again not a terrible conference by any stretch, Lord knows I've seen far worse but I think the hype unfortunately hurt this one As due to Sony's absence people thought it would be far more impressive
