Apparently there is no 3d audio on pc re4make for now. You can just select headphones and 3d falls on system level, on pc it is atmos stuff if you have it and on ps5, system 3d audio (superior)Yeah especially wirelessly on for the DS, even games like Returnal on PC they dont use the full extent of the DS like on the triggers, it cant recognise a half press so the secondary fire is a seperate button.
On the flip side any game now has good gyro aiming.
In terms of 3D audio some games do have an internal version of it, but for some reason its hit and miss, for instance again returnal has amazing audio on PC that matches the PS5, but others dont. Not sure on this, it didnt sound particularly 3D on PC.
How is the demo, i didnt bother to download it, is it on par with RE2 Remake? or feels better based on what you played? does it lives up to the original?
Amazing. God tier stuff. Capcom firing on all cylinders. How is the demo, i didnt bother to download it, is it on par with RE2 Remake? or feels better based on what you played? does it lives up to the original?
I've never been a fan of the survival horror RE games. I prefer the action orientated games aka RE4/RE5.How is the demo, i didnt bother to download it, is it on par with RE2 Remake? or feels better based on what you played? does it lives up to the original?
Its familiar, but with a few twists, people who were expecting 1:1 could be dissapointed and there are some concerns about the controls and combat animations ,but overall seems like its a solid remake and good way to relive the experienceHow is the demo, i didnt bother to download it, is it on par with RE2 Remake? or feels better based on what you played? does it lives up to the original?
I don’t think they launch with this. I think it came later with both RE2/3 remakes.Hope they launch with infinite ammo dlc, I’m too much of a bitch to play these games
It kinda sucks that we arent getting this crazy John Wick style combat in this game. It's where they've taken the CG series (which is cannon btw) so clearly thats the kind of action they want from the games but for whatever reason, they feel reluctant to go full John Wick.
I thought RE7 and RE2make were a great return to the OG formula but its 2023 now and its time to move on and reinvent the wheel. The game already has a huge focus on melee. I was just watching this youtuber pick up zombies from behind and throw them on the ground and it reminded of the Chris takedowns in the vid above. Shouldve gone all in on melee just like TLOU2 did. Let me grab the zombies, and use THEM as a shield. Let me blow their brains out while i have them as a hostage like Ellie does. Abby has some sick fucking melee kills when you activate her momentum skills. I know its heresy to even say this but RE shouldve borrowed some stuff from TLOU2. The dodges in the video above reminded me a lot of the pre-downgrade TLOU2 gameplay. Just slick as fuck.
I think TLOU2 retains that survival horror aspect. RE4 was always more action packed and remake is the same if not more action oriented and still feels survival horror. Right now it just feels clunky. If I can do a bionic kick and throw a zombie like im hulk hogan, i dont think it would be too out of the norm to dodge (which was in RE3) and have some more takedown animations.Probably because they're afraid to go into full blown action territory since their last experiment on that bit them on the ass. Resident Evil needs to be either Survival Horror or a blend of Survial Horror/Action. It should never go full tilt into action territory imo. That has consistently been where the series has been at it's lowest.
I think there's a good reason why in the mainline entries we've stopped playing as Chris, Jill and Leon. As you saw in that video you posted, these people are the most battle hardened, elite warriors in the fight against bioterrorism. By this point if any of these people saw a Tyrant followed by an army of lickers, instead of being scared they'd be more annoyed that the won't have an easy day at work. You can't really make a Survival Horror game with characters like that. I think that's part of why the Remakes have been welcome, because we can still play as the Legacy characters. But I would not be surprised if RE9 is a new character.

Nah, it makes sense. It's a tricky balance act. I mean they had dodge in RE3 and took it out. I just played and beat RE3 like 7 times last month to unlock all the weapons and really ended up liking the perfect dodge mechanic. Slowed down time and everything. So if they took that out, it must be because they didnt want to make it too easy. They might not have implemented those to avoid you being too mobile so you'd dominate everything. I'm just guessing.
Yeah, according to my TV without RT on graphics mode only the very first part really had issues (low-mid 50s), not sure why, maybe the fog or something? After I got in the first house it seemed fine.PC version controlled like trash until I turned Camera Acceleration to max. I honestly have no idea who playtested this game.
Is he talking about the RT mode here? I played the PS5 performance mode with VRR turned off and didnt notice any major drops.
John Linneman is beginning to sound more and more like Ricky. He consistently grants wins for XSX due to VRR regardless of output performance while ignoring majority of gamers without a VRR compatible screen. A true rescuer.
its the same on PC. first area is the only time it dips below 60 fps at native 4k in a non combat area. could be the fog. i posted my PC gameplay footage on the last page that shows this.Yeah, according to my TV without RT on graphics mode only the very first part really had issues (low-mid 50s), not sure why, maybe the fog or something? Yeah he was directly asked about performance, no one cares about his "bu-bu-bu-but vrr" gibberish.John Linneman is beginning to sound more and more like Ricky. He did exactly the same with Elden Ring. It's all about his subjective preferences. He appears rather defensive and manipulative.Yeah he was directly asked about performance, no one cares about his "bu-bu-bu-but vrr" gibberish.
Played the demo few more times on ps5 and pc...
honestly I am not happy with ps5 version. It only holds in vrr (48fps+) window in performance mode without Rt and without Strand hair. Any other combination and the game craps it's pants and goes below 48fps often.
On top of that, strand hair looks like shit in comparison to pc and normal hair is very pxielated.
The game looks soft and dithered over all....
On pc it looks much better and performs better aside from crashes. I found that at 4k maxed, textures vram high 2gb and interlacing seem rather safe. Around 9gb of vram used out of 10 on 3080. Anything more than that, even fsr ultra quality and it has a high chance of crashing.\
Of course ps5 got much better dualsense controls and 3d audio. PC got mouse and keyboard
Pc version don't have spatial audio. it relies on your own spatial audio solution bought separately for windows. The pc has Spatial sound ie dolby atmos / dts X
Zero crashes at 4k 120fps every setting in maximum
The pc version is the absolute best version
It seems xbox series x is second then ps5, then xbox series s followed by ps4.
With ER i could understand. This was before PS5 started supporting VRR.He did exactly the same with Elden Ring. It's all about his subjective preferences. He appears rather defensive and manipulative.
Did you ever try turning off RT? I am super surprised by your performance woes and crashes. I have had none but then again i have stopped turning on RT in games. Gotham Knights, Hogwarts and RE all have poor RT implementations that go beyond just drastically reducing performance. they are simply broken with insane stuttering, poor CPU optimizations and crashes.Pc version don't have spatial audio. it relies on your own spatial audio solution bought separately for windows.
Tons of crashes at 4k. Many many many crashes. Maybe you have more vram but on 3080 10gb I have to set textures to 2gb, shadows to high and interlacing to reduce crashing.
Pc version is the absolute best version? BULLSHIT. No Dualsense and 3d audio on ps5 is better than dolby crap. But pc version CAN look better and run faster. But as it is, I get 60-70fps on 3080.

Yes. Turning of RT fixes the crashes. But what's the point of playing pc version on a 3080 if I have to turn it off?Did you ever try turning off RT? It's a shame that my $850 card has basically become a standard rasterization card. Shouldve just bought a cheaper AMD card I guess. This game doesnt even support DLSS.

Yeah, I tend to agree that RT is just a waste of time. Metro did it well and I do like RTGO but most recent games I tried with it on look no different to me and I lose a bunch of frames to it.Yes. Turning of RT fixes the crashes. But what's the point of playing pc version on a 3080 if I have to turn it off?
Well maybe you are right... RT does shit in this anyway.
Overall I feel Rt is a scam and a waste of everyones time.
Yes. of course I replayed metro exodus enhanced edition on pc. yes, it looks amazing but the game needs to really go for it

Same damage control as with Elden Ring where PS5 also had both resolution and framerate advantage.
Do they even know VRR TVs are still quite niche among players? I mean at some point they'll stop doing framerate analysis. What's the point even? Just spend the whole video talking about the "superior" VRR.
he was always like that, thinking everyone out there has his setup.Do they even know VRR TVs are still quite niche among players? I mean at some point they'll stop doing framerate analysis. What's the point even? Just spend the whole video talking about the "superior" VRR.
I am just countering these absolute statements which are not good.Dude, your hate boner for pc is crazy. It is absolutely the best version.
I just tried the ps5 version after playing it on my 4090 pc..
Yikes it needs some optimisation!
I highly recommend turning off lens distortion, fine hair as both looked wrong compared to the pc version.
Even in resolution mode it looks low resolution?
Also it ways brighter than its supposed to be, I reduced peak brightness till I could see the faint square as usual but I had to reduce the 2nd part by 5 steps to get it even dark in the dark areas. Completely wrong!
The audio wasn't as good either as I was missing the Spatial audio dolby atmos from my oc version.
The headphones 3d audio was surprisingly poor too compared to games like demon's souls.
The one thing I was impressed with is it gave me the harder difficulty in the 2nd try.
I wished I had a xbox series x to try the demo on too as I've been able to do a direct comparison before.
I have a VRR capable TV and both consoles, so I tested the game a lot these days. I can accept that in resolution mode Xbox has less framerate, but the thing is that what you perceive when playing is that in resolution mode Xbox version is smooth meanwhile in PS5 has constant and noticeable stutters. So, yes, maybe, PS5 version has a higher framerate in resolution mode, but if it feels smoother in Xbox, which version is preferable?Same damage control as with Elden Ring where PS5 also had both resolution and framerate advantage.

apparently DLSS and XeSS are implemented in the demo, but deactivated and hidden from the optiosn menu...
