With the same tech AFAIK.

There are universal techniques for 3D filming but Prometheus is being filmed with some kickass Red Epic cameras (same as they are using on the Hobbit though not as high framerate unfortunately).

Also Prometheus has been shot with focus on actual sets, animatronics and practical effects unlike Avatar. They are only using CG where absolutely needed.

Damon was responsible for a lot of fantastically written episodes of Lost. Regardless of what one thinks about the entire story is fair game, but it would be foolish to call him a bad writer or storyteller because of Lost. There were a lot of writers on that show and Damon and Carlton were responsible for some of the better episodes.
