I beat it, played a bit of Horde mode, tried beating it on Insanity... And just gave up. I didn't care anymore. The game didn't do anything for me anymore. I thought I liked it better than Gears 2, but in hindsight, I dropped it even faster than I dropped that one.

I was strictly speaking of VS Multiplayer.
I haven't even attempted to try the Campaign on Insanity, and from what I've heard, they made is stupid hard in this game.
I'd love to play more Horde, but at the end of the day a MP game is only as fun as the people you're playing with.

Gears on insane is usually easy mode, Gears 3 isnt that much harder honestly.
Iv lost of momentum since iv done as much as i could with the game. The online is pretty weak in my opinion, horde is good but only so much fun, i drop in for a quick game every now and then but for me Gears is a campaign game.

I don't play a lot GoW3 anymore in the first place because of all the other games that came out (mainly Skyrin
) and I still like to play Halo. And only few people on my friendslist play it. We should play some more gears Elzar and Xand!

Like I said, I haven't even tried Insanity in Gears 3 yet. I just always hear people talking about what mutators they're gonna use and this and that. Maybe they just mean in 4 player co-op since it does scale the difficulty up quite a bit.
And Nightfall is like the easiest LASO to do, no big deal.
Dammit, can't unsee them now.

God what could have been. No Microsoft needed more Halo. grrr I don't remember it being an RTS though. Wasn't it rumored to be some sort of castle sieging type action game? I could swear it was.

You know what, I thought the same damn thing. It's only the second time it's been around, though, with the same pretransition payout.
I think all the weeklies that were obviously "Do it on Nightfall" make it seem more common than it was.

Edit : I've been wondering something. How are we going to handle Halo 4 talk in the new all encompassing HaloGAF thread? Someone people (me) want to go into Halo 4 with little/no info. Will "spoilers" be discussed in the new thread? And if so, will they be spoiler marked?
I don't really have a strong preference on how to handle it. Spoilers will be a risk no matter what thread you go in, anyways.
So I played my first few games last night. Suffice to say I got wrecked pretty bad. I got a better feel for some of the maps, but I was only really comfortable of Hemorrhage since it's basically Blood Gulch.
It could have also been the game modes we played but I doubt it. I was playing with my 2 roommates and we did:

- 4v4 Capture the Flag: This was some variant where there are 4 flags and you need to return them to a particular point in the map and hold it for a bit.
- 3v3v3v3 KOTH: This was fun, but hectic as hell. People were dying left and right, one team played for kills rather than the win and my team was competing for the score lead. Corpses everywhere lol
- 8v8 CTF: This was on Hemorrhage and I did the best here. I was ranked 2nd on my team, 3rd overall and I got around 10-11 kills with the first Wraith. Feels good man.

Yeah a all encompassing HaloGaf thread would also be bad when books hit. Not everyone gets the books at the same time and so far thats been fine because ive been able to catch up on the speculation after reading the book but avoid it before reading the book. That just wouldnt be possible with a halogaf thread.

I think keeping book and Halo 4 specific discussion to their respective threads would make the most sense. But that's never a 100% thing, anyways. Discussion inevitably spills over here, and honestly, that makes sense to me. Just sucks for avoiding spoilers.
I desperately want a Halo 4 media blow out... But I think I'm going to fight the urge and go on media blackout once real info hits. I managed to do it with Reach pretty well...

I think the rule of thumb should be, anything officially released for Halo 4 is fair game, as is speculation based on it. Book-specific stuff should be spoilered, along with leaks or rumored leaks.
If you want to go in blind to even official media I don't think Halo threads will be safe. At least, that's been the precedent.

Yep, I agree with this. Although perhaps for the last few trailers, there should be different rules since they are pretty spoilerish most of the time.

Dont know if ms has a X12 event in feb for press to reveal something.
We also have GDC in march maybe some 343 people will present so that could be a reveal event. Then we have Pax east in april. Then its a wait till E3. and hopefully we have a 3 week summer beta for Halo 4.
