Let's see: I enjoy Legos and liked GTA back in the day. So yes, I would say I am at least curious about the game.

Am I the only who is going to tear their hair out if Zelda 3DS (hopefully at E3, or at least announced) has Toon Link?

Buddy, you need a rest.

Wii U, not so much because it has been confirmed graphics are important or something.

I doubt they'll go that route with Zelda 3DS.
I could see it using more of a TP or OoT look.

Honestly I've enjoyed all the Zelda art styles. I know some people are burned out on toon link, but it wouldn't break it for me. I just don't want stylus controls. I was impressed how well the stylus controlled, but I still would prefer the more mundane, classic, traditional analogue + buttons.

I loved Toon Link, but damn he's tired out.

Hopefully a TP/OoT style. I also wouldn't be surprised if it used CPP.

I was okay with the stylus controls, they just needed a little refining.

guys stop using logic

kids who want to be cool think: "this game looks stupid I want GTA or COD"

most teenagers or older: "lol legos"

parents buying for their kids: "this looks violent I don't want my kid playing as a criminal I'll just get them lego Star Wars"

I just don't see the point.

It will use controls similar (if not identical) to OoT 3D. No way they are going back to touch controls.

I think it would be very telling if they used CPP. If Zelda 3DS uses it, I would have to agree that a revision is inevitable. I think they're going to do their best to make it work with just one stick.

(though I'm not against a dual-stick revision. Day 1. I just don't see them screwing over early adopters yet again)

I think the real money is in using the NFC to create in-game content.

Buying those sets and having them come to virtual life? YES!

Okay that would be amazing.

I'm scared at the possibilities NFC brings to the table. Especially for things like card games. I'd be compelled to start collecting cardass cards, and maybe even Pokemon again >_>

I hope so. Hell, OOT assets recycled would be great. Game would be out quick, and the last time they did that, they produced the greatest game of all time.

I think we need to ask the question: is there any chance in hell of the Wii-U getting a version of GTAV?

I think there's a damn good chance if Nintendo is serious about third party relations this gen.

I personally have no doubt Lego City Stories is going to be a big success, like all Lego games this gen have been. But this one isn't tied down to any franchise that kids don't care about, like Indiana Jones, but it's a Lego sandbox game, which means it'll appeal to more people than any other Lego game so far. I am interested in it even though I have never played a Lego game.

If Nintendo is serious about courting third parties, GTAV has to be a priority. I wouldn't doubt that its either already in development, or there are serious talks(and money being exchanged) behind to scenes to get it done. Its probably important for them to get RE6 on the system, as well as whatever Bethesda and Bioware are planning next.

I'd love to believe this, but after hearing how enamored they are with motion controls after skyward sword, I don't know. They seem to love their unique control styles. Only possible on 3DS!

I love Zelda, and I went in to SS with an open mind, but man. I hope they ditch motion + controls. The stylus controls on DS are WAY better, though I hope they ditch those too. Nintendo is great at innovating, but seem reluctant to let an idea they've put so much time into die, even if it should.

China town got a DS version and an iOS version, so not only are they willing to port, but they're willing to port to a non-traditional control style with strange interfaces. I know it's a new game, and different circumstances, but obviously the guys in charge aren't against the idea. Mid be surprised if it wasn't on the Wii U.

Oops, double post

Well their system can run the game. So unless Rockstar just hates some additional revenue, it should be a no-brainer for GTA to appear on it.

It depends on Nintendo, if I'm remembering correctly they approached Rockstar about a GTA on the Wii.. and think how we ended up with Bully on the Wii.

Seems like something Nintendo/Reggie would actively court.

Wii U GTA should be a given. Turn the tablet screen into your character's cell phone and sell apps for it that use various fictional brands and references to the game's internal world.

I think we all know this was going on:

a few months back when Nintendo got their hands on the Monster Hunter franchise. They clearly wanted to show that they mean business with the Japanese market.

The question is, do they mean business with the North American market? Cause if they do, they'll do the same damn thing with Rockstar and the GTA franchise. Obviously they're not going to get exclusivity rights on it, but just a non-nerfed version of GTA with some cool Wii U controller functionality would be enough. Maybe some exclusive DLC.

Driving around with the tablet as your gps alone would be tits. Think this thing's gonna come with a stand. Hmm, maybe the charge cradle?

i cant believe this is a thing

like, who is this catered to? lego gta appeals to noone.

I think it’ll have an extremely wide appeal. Finally a sandbox game without that idiotic M label. The core gameplay of GTA has always been solid fun, and it can stand on its own without the graphic violence and sex/drugs themes. This might be a game that both 10-14 year olds can ask they parents for AND older gamers might enjoy because of the parody factor combined with the fun gameplay. LEGO is a perfect match for sandbox.. who will this NOT appeal to? Also, I see huge potential for DLC and NFC-functionality in this game, although I doubt it will do much of that being a launch window release. (Just imagine buying a LEGO City product (labelled „Works with LEGO City Stories”), and by holding the box close to your Wii U controller, the car/plane/building/whatever is unlocked in the game)

or... you know... turn it into a tablet? I think it is pretty obvious the next UI gimmick for GTA will be an Ipad-like device

this in spades and across a whole bunch of companies.

Why NOT support? Only nintendo can screw this up at the moment with some draconian daft rules lik e "must be exclusive" or "must have X content" or "we're going to charge you massive amounts of cash" or whatever.

It's a no brainer as long as Nintendo are flexible. However, don't they have that "clean" image in the US that they somewhat trade off? I wonder if a game like GTA raises any concerns ?

Well I was assuming you'd want your character to be easily mobile. As portable as tablets are, they're still nowhere as convenient as a phone.

Yeah, Nintendo just wants to make money with third parties, they would only care if one of their teams was making a game like that or GTA.....which obviously would never happen.

Well, I dunno.
I could see them doing a Nintendo style sandbox game.
Wouldn't be as violent as GTA, obviously, but they could definitely do something like it.

Well, there will come a day when they do an "edgy"(different than Metroid) type game but yeah, it will be handled differently and less crude and blatant.

Which Nintendo series is best suited for sandbox gameplay?

I say Super Mario--take out the hub worlds and seamlessly connect the stages, and SM64 and SMS are already basically sandbox games.

Really?

Miis and WuHu Island. I mean the thing seems massive when you are flying around it, and has distinct landmarks...

Really hope they do something with it on Wii U. Thinking like an Uncharted esque game but doubt it.
