Does the OS track how much time you spend in a game? I do/don't want to know how much of my life is going to go into HSG.

wow.....i just watched "invisible wall" on gametrailers and all the guys on there said no to "buying it at launch." funny enough, they mentioned how deep in trouble sony is and kaz becoming ceo might change it with his new methods.

so shouldn't we all buy this hardware at launch to show sony(and other developers/publishers) that they're doing the right thing this time around?

psvita seems like a really good device with abundance of contents for a good price. usually i hear complaints about the first generation of other devices, but so far there are barely that i've heard of from the vita.

i think i'll get the vita at launch to show support for sony and vote with my money.

This might be a weird question, but if I buy and download Valkeria Chronicals 2, can I move my UMD save from my PSP over to it? I'm actually really considering it.

Nothing that I can see. I haven't checked in game either but I doubt it. It tells you what you've been playing in some ways but not how long.

Yes, copy it to the save directory as noted in the content manager and you're good to go. Copy the save solder in its entirety. I believe you may be able to do it on PS3 but I mange all my saves on PC so don't quote me on that.

What are the benefits of PS+ for a person with just a Vita?

Also, noticed something neat in the Gravity Daze Live Area that I didn't see in my North American titles. In your activities list, which shows you and your friends' activities in the game (unlocking trophies, buying DLC from the PSN, etc.,) apparently developers/publishers can update that activities list with messages and links to the PSN store or the internet. I don't know if this is already implemented, but it would be cool if game invites could be checked in the activities log.

Okay, now that's awesome. I hope games/developers start taking advantage of that.

Another thing I noticed when I updated Little Deviants to play last night is that it showed a change log first. Do all games do that? Man that'd be awesome after all the updates I do on PS3 where I have no idea what's even been done.

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...
Should be free and discounted ps one, psp, minis, vita games. Also cloud storage.

Yup, no Vita games so far, but they said they plan something for Vita as well. As soon as the first Vita games go up with the PS+ discount I'll activate my PS+ membership. Buying 5 Vita games in a year would get me the price of the PS+ membership back already, so yeah.

I've never liked the idea of running a charity for companies big or small, there are better places to to do that. But I must say the vita seems like a great buy for any enthusiast at launch charity or not.

I don't really like to watch Invisible Walls much because their interests are so narrow on top of western made big budget games on the HD consoles with a few exceptions. And that wouldn't be so bad if they didn't just completely berate anything that doesn't fall inside that very small spectrum. I wouldn't take anything they say seriously.

Same here, never considered Ps+ before but once they include discounts on Vita games i'm on it baby.

Cool thanks. Worst comes to worst I can temporarily install the PC manager. My psp UMD drive broke mid game and I always wanted to finish that.

Speaking of which, thank god that we don't have to mess with any stupid UMD drives anymore.

I thought all games have this built in their LiveArea and do this by default. Also, if you have friends playing this game while you launch the LiveArea their Avatars show up on the bottom. Has this happened to anyone?

It does, but none of my North American titles currently have had updates from the developers/publishers yet, just updates about my friends' activities.

Lumines and UMvC3 activities log compared to Gravity Daze activity log said:

It's a nice way to get news out for game and DLC announcements, or discounts on DLC. Reminds me of game pages on Steam.

Plugged my Vita in when I went to bed last night, tried to wake it up this morning and it wouldn't boot. Unplugged the charger and plugged it back in, got the orange light again.

Hopefully when I get home from running errands all will be well...

I think people have been saying to hold down the power button for like 20 seconds when this happens.

I keep watching gameplay videos for various games...I went from "Eh, I'll wait for the holidays," to "Urrgh..I need this thing NOW!!"

Another day where I ask if Sony has fixed the SSD bundle yet? My FEB needs it and I do not wish to sign up for anything AT&T.

I raised a support ticket direct with Sony on Wednesday
They refunded me yesterday and I was able to rebuy and download and install the bundle fine
Would suggest you do the same

Yeah, I feel that we should be able to copy existing (UMD or PSN) PSP game saves to Vita even if we don't have UMD PassPort program. They need to implement cloud save/sync anyway. So there should be an easy way to upload/download individual game saves.

What's the TRU special going on/coming up? Also, is NG+ available anywhere, or is that a Wednesday release?

E: And has anyone transferred MJ The Experience that Ubi "gave away" for free? I want to take it off my Vita for space, but I don't want to lose it...

I saw Ninja Gaiden Plus in stock at my local Target last night. NG+ and Dungeon Hunter were the only two Vita games they had available for purchase.

I tried that, it didn't work. I think for some reason it stopped charging and died overnight, so I'm hoping it'll be good to go when I get home!

Yes, the activities log is also available in Near.

I believe the developers can implement *any* service/applet they want in the LiveArea. e.g., In the music player LiveArea, it shows a mini-controller so that we can control the active playlist while the player is running in the background. In the web browser LiveArea, it shows a list of opened web pages so that you can jump to the last session right away from LiveArea.

Anyone having trouble signing into a UK pan account on vita? Keeps saying the server is timing out. A couple of times its come up with new terms and conditions to accept but I can't get past it.

Counting down the hours until my Vita is dispatched from Amazon now. Ironically I really am sick at the minute so I currently have a legitimate reason to have a day off when it is released :p

I supposed Vita won't respond if the battery was completely flat. So you should retry the 20-second power cycle when you get back. You should see the PS logo pop-up if you hold down the power button long enough.

yea, i know what oyu talking about. but i don't think it a charity scenario here, sony is doing most of the right things this time. and if vita sells well then other companies may follow suits, with the possibly of pulbishers/developers supporting new games for it. finally, someone listen to what consumers wants(as a handheld device, which is an reasonable price, dual analogue, discounted games on psn, etc.) and if this thing doesn't sells well then i can see the future of handheld might go the nintendo way(which is not bad, but kinda outdated and their games are pretty expensive too, online got a lot of catching up to do.) or tablets/mobile phone way. if the vita can give me the experience of a console in my hands then i probably will skip out on the next gen of home console. this is the first time in years since i bought a system at launch(the last one was the ds) and just shows how picky i am when it comes to launch systems.

Uh-oh... "Could not connect to the PS3 system."

Try unplugging the USB cable, and plug it in again. The PS3 should automatically launch into the CMA. Then tap on Content Manager on Vita.

If it still doesn't work, make sure Vita has enough charge left. ^_^

Unplugging it and plugging back in twice before did not work, but the third time it did. You have magical text speak. Thank you sir.

Did anyone try to buy and play Monster Hunter on Vita? How is it? Worth it? Never played this game before.

Had it for my GO and moved it to the Vita. The game plays beautifully. And with the addition of mapping the d-pad to the right stick for look movement the people that complain about the camera control can rest easy. That OLED screen also makes the colors so vivid even comparing it to the GO screen. There is no auto-lock but you should be okay if you use the r-stick for camera.

Hunter advice: Be calm, don't rush in, learn the attack patterns of the monsters. Bow/Bowguns vs plessy is the only way to go.

So does the Sony protective screen only cover the front screen? Does the back need one?

Up to you !

I put one on the back pad because I think I will scratch it. I often slide my stuff across the desk surface, and my desk can be em... dusty sometimes (I'm a guy, what do you expect ? ^_^)

Sorry if this question has been asked (can't get the search function to work on my phone). Are there any benefits to going with the 3G version over the WiFi only option? Does GPS add a lot to functions like Near? Trying to figure out the best option to purchase. Leaning towards WiFi as I don't care to pay any data fees.

3G: Near will activate GPS and save your location, and next time you connect to the net it'll show you the data from that location at that time. This is done even without 3G on and not connected to wifi.

Wifi: Near only works when you access a wifi hotspot.

People seem to be praising the analog controls and such, but I wen't to gamestop and got my hands on it....

The sticks are so small there is hardly any range of motion, nothing like the DS3, probably be near impossible to fine aim with a shooter for example.

I want a vita badly since I have no PS3 anymore, but the sticks did not really impress me unfortunately.

Ars said it perfectly:

"On the plus side, this means you have to apply only the slightest bit of pressure to get the analog stick to react. On the minus side, this means it takes a very delicate touch to register anything less than a full push in any direction."
