Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue might be headed to XBLA/PSN

Great news if true, but would prefer an xbla version of Grandia 2 over both. Gimme PSO v2 and ECCO and I'm happy. Also wouldn't mind these titles to show up - F355, Headhunter, SA2, Cosmic Smash, Zombie Revenge, Maken X, Dynamite Cop, Seaman and yes, even Blue Stinger! Some Capcom DC love would be nice, namely Power Stone 1/2 with online multi would seem an obvious choice.

They better handle these with care and AT LEAST make them 16x9 and run at 60fps at 720p. No reason to why that couldn't happen. If these get ported, that is.

Shenmue is pretty much confirmed it was leaked a few years ago along with Jet Set Radio on PartnerNet. Now that we know Jet Set Radio was real its very safe to assume Shenmue was as well.

No fucking way, Skies is coming to XBLA/PSN??

PLEASE HD REMASTER EDITION FUCK YEAAAAAAA GIMME DAT SHIT SEGA

Intersting, hope that's true and that Shenmue will get a good treatment. ...but refresh my memory, I once read about something regarding the Dreamcast and Windows 98, but that was a long time ago; are there any specifics to this?

Dreamcast used Windows CE.

I'd buy Skies of Arcadia... again and again. That was without-doubt the most played game on my Dreamcast. I even bought the Gamecu --- forget it, just give me the damn game again!

One of my favourite games of all time... so many memorable moments. However, they better not skimp on the port or I'll be pissed.

They could afford to drop the encounter rate in SoA even lower than the Gamecube version. Or at least speed up the flow of battle somehow. The game becomes "Mash A" in the later levels. Other than that, YES PLEASE OMG

I played both DC and GC versions so I forget if this worked on the GC version, but you could hear the disc spinning up 1-2 seconds before an encounter and if you pull up your character menu quick enough, you can make the random encounter go away. Problem solved!

Along with Sega's own APIs for development, MS also provided Windows CE development tools for the DC. Not sure if there was added overhead or what, but games using Windows CE never seemed as optimized as games that used Sega's own tools.

Oh god yes, DC has so many games that would be perfect for XBLA/PSN.

Alien Front Online is a perfect example. A 4vs4 arena vehicle combat game that used voice chat, that's a perfect fit for these digital stores.

Will triple dip (XBLA, PSN, PC) on Shenmue 1+2, Skies of Arcadia and Jet Set Radio. Waiting to send you my money, Sega.

Give us Jet Set Radio Future HD to follow things up next year!

They did? Shit. That game could've gone way faster for me.

Or maybe I knew about that and made the conscious decision to just watch most of the animations for some reason. I dunno. It was awhile ago.

Yes sir, it was the Z button on the GC. Fuckin' panacea right there. Just magic.

If they release Shenmue 1+2, I guess I can finally get rid of my Dreamcast. It's not like it's working properly anymore anyway.

Is anyone else getting rid of their DC with these digital releases?

I think I'm going to get rid of my DC this summer. I have a lot of nostalgia for it, but having gotten rid of my entire legacy console collection but DC, I think it is time to let it go. Since I'm in anti-collector mode I just don't want to keep storing the old hardware. And on a more personal level, it's a final total letting go of that era for me.

I think Shenmue is among the fist wave of 3D games that don't age like shit graphically. The amount of detail and textures make it very playable to this day.

SoA is still one of my favorite RPG experiences, but I doubt I'd be patient enough for another play through.

I'll get rid of my DC once Toy Commander, Powerstone and SA2 find a home on DD services.

Would be pretty cool if shenmue is really headed to XBLA/PSN.
Skies I already have for GameCube and I have that feeling that Sega will not put the GameCube version on XBLA/PSN.

I would be much more excited if the PSN version was compatible with the Vita with cross platform saves. That'd take me from thinking "cool, but I have this on the dreamcast and gamecube already" to "yes, yes I will buy this again oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhh".

I still prefer to play it on the original hardware. Plus eventually I'll find something for the system that doesn't have a digital release (Power Stone) or it's gimped (Crazy Taxi)

I dunno why, but it just doesn't feel right without the controller in hand.

Im ready for a 4th trip though this world. I love Skies Of Arcadia and it's world. The airship battles are bar none the best battles and just makes you feel like a pirate. After playing some of the original on the DC I later on got it on the GC with the extra content and I was excite. People who still love RPG's need a gem like this in there collection and must experience it. Shenmue I played the whole game in Japanese when it came out as most of my games were cause I had a import console and I enjoyed every moment. I hate playing/watching series that don't have a conclusion so I never played 2 cause i don't want to get more sad cause the story was so good. Knowing there might be no ending hurts me. But yes make this happen Sega. Fans like me this guy who made this and love this series deserve it.

DC love!

fyi, there is DC to USB controller adaptor. Very rare and hard to find, but it works. (works on PS3, too)

I think they will put up a special DC port of Shenmue of a slightly scratched disc on a Dreamcast game with some laser issues... thus 100% emulation of a title that loads correctly 1 out of 20 times it is started.

Jokes aside, SEGA has toyed with Shenmue fans almost as if it holds them responsible for buying and liking the game... as if it were a bad thing.

Outtrigger is crying in a corner unwanted and unloved and it's all your fault! :(

I don't care too much about Skies of Arcadia, and I will believe the Shenmue part when I see it. It would make no sense to release Shenmue II and leave the story hanging forever...but it would be too good to be true if they released Shenmue III, even if they do it ala Megaman 9 (with "retro" Dreamcast graphics and such).

By now, this is only one more reason tu buy the Jet Set Radio remake this summer (which I was going to buy anyway).
