Mass Effect 3 Spoiler Thread |OT2| Taste the Rainbow

Their absolute inability to take a joke has been amazing. I would have just shrugged it off and let the crew eat cupcakes. Seriously this whole incident has really lowered my opinion of Bioware as a whole.

With the exception of Priestly's response (it is worded poorly IMO), I think what Bioware did was fine. They got the message loud and clear, kept the individual notes, and managed to brighten the days of a few impoverished children with some dessert. Given the responses of some people on the BSN, I too would be concerned that some might think that the acceptance of cupcakes meant some form of transaction if I were a mod or employee.

It is funny to hear some of the brainstorming for future ideas on BSN though. People want to buy ad space on the bus stop across the street from Bioware's HQ, they want to send a Marauder Shields cake, and there is even talk of a statue. Crazy times we live in.

I would pitch in for the Shields cake.

Has this been posted? Weekes, a writer on the game, basically trashes the ending. (Makes himself look good, he had a hand in all the good parts of the ending lol.)

Nice to see the people in charge getting harried.

I hope it was Mac Walters and Casey Hudson realizing they couldn't get away with their ass pulls.

I really wish the "save the Elcor" mission had been more than a scanning mission. Not because it makes no sense that you can save a species by launching a probe at it, but because I desperately wanted to see Elcor battling with back mounted artillery.

A Batarian would have made for great dialogue!

In 3 it could have been amazing. Hearing a Batarian talk openly about their government and what it's like to see your entire civilization wiped out. Would have also added to the sense of hopelessness.

Nope though.

So no one posted it? Because I should probably hotlink it here. It is the most interesting out of this whole mess I'd say.

You have no idea how let down I was.

There was a text summary of some sort which detailed a bit more than what you showed, but I haven't seen the specific posts you linked.

In pure number number or percentage and are we excluding the DLC characters?

ME1 has 2 humans and 4 aliens.
ME2 has 5 humans(2 DLC) and 7 aliens(8 if you count Morinth)
ME3 has 2 humans and 5 aliens.

ME2 has the best squad selection with ME1 being the worse. Every returning character from ME1 also got better with the sequels.

Nope though.

I can kinda see 'em add one in as DLC, maybe.

Once you earn the achievement for that weapon (get x number of kills with it), on any following game you gain the option to learn an extra skill. You can pick a weapon skill to become proficient with that type of weapon.

In fact, this extends to all abilities, actually. Once you have the achievement, you unlock the skill. This can actually screw up Sentinels, because if you pick a non-weapon skill, they actually learn so many actual abilities, if you pick either a tech or biotic ability, you can lose it if you choose to invest points to learn all their native abilities. It's a limitation in the size of the pause ability bar. The last ability you learn replaces another ability that was on the bar. Happened to me on a playthrough.

A lot of people don't realize it, actually, but all the achievements in ME1 actually confer benefits on later characters.

Thank you.

I haven't seen it before and would definitely appreciate the hotlink. It really must be awkward for any Bioware employees who voiced concerns about the ending prior to release to see their predictions come true. While ME3 has many flaws (the biggest being the ending), there was so much great work done throughout the game that I hope fans aren't belittling every Bioware employee simply because of their affiliation with the company.

This is probably one of the most wasted franchises in gaming history.

I think their point is true. I like what they did with the cupcakes. I would have been fine if they ate them, too. They got the point, that it was a subtle jab in the form of a gift. They funneled them towards a better cause.

They still need to donate 80,000 to Child's Play, though.

Damn, awkward. That soldier at the embassies is elated when the embassy clerk tells her her asari daughter's cleared to travel to her family on Thessia...

Guess which planet is falling next?

:lol

There's a reason I quoted only that image. It seems that recycled corridors with recycled covers were "Art" in ME1.

I figured as much.

In pure percentage it would go ME3>ME2>ME1. That said, with ME3 most of the cast is returning. The only new face is human which is a waste considering the options available to them.

You have no idea how let down I was.

That was the moment I realized they shat the game out the door.

Oh, that was posted a while ago. Its legit.

Not according to Bioware. Which, you know, is more proof that they will look you in the eye as they lie to your face.

They won't look into your eyes as they fuck you though, the artistic integrity and other deflections about the ending prove that.

I'm calling bullshit on them but in the end it doesn't really matter.

Ashley didnt. Kaiden didnt.

Don't worry, her daughter magically regenerates and goes through the whole approval cycle again. ;)

Ashley did become better in ME3. That's not saying a whole lot, but she did.

Kaiden is still as boring and useless as ever.

Nah, they were fucking reprehensible in ME2, especially as love interests, which continued through the first half of ME3. Then Kaidan apparently turns into a bisexual creeper and Ash does nothing.

Same. I got excited when given that quest. Sucks that it was just a scanning thing and sucks even more that the quest didn't update and I had no notification that I completed it (I had that and that other Elcor homeworld fetch quest completed at the same time).

And yet it was about 50% of everything you fight through in ME1.

But for each of those monotonous space bases, we would get this, each and every single time:

So I'd be much happier with that than linear corridors with no sense of traversal / exploration.

No she didnt. She's much more interesting to talk to in 1. Everything in 3 is just talking about stuff established in 1 or the dumb Horizon mission and working with Cerberus. And you barely talk with her after she gets out of the hospital.

Chris Priestly has also told board members Kasumi and legion weren't real characters in ME2 lol

The skyboxes really were amazing in ME1. I liked, but didn't love the exploration aspect, but the visuals were nice.

There was only one planet that was really a bitch with the mountains. I think maybe the one where it is a binary planet. I think it opens after Virmire, regardless. Everything else was easily navigable with a little bit of Mako experience under your belt.
