I agree. If you want to alienate a certain group then do it. No need to have 4,545,864 playlists. It's obvious with these additions 343 doesn't really seem to care about the Halo CE, H2, and H3 fanbase and are just working under MS's terms to make the CoD killer.

All I'm gonna say is that every time there has been a preview that gave me red lights like this, the elements in question have always ended up as bad as I thought they would. Always. Not once has it actually surprised me in its implementation and turned out for the better. That said, I still give everything the benefit of the doubt during pre-release. I mean, there's gotta be a first for everything.

it really sounds like an evolution of armor abilities rather then perks. take that for what you will though

New info sounds really bad. I don't like the idea of buying armor abilities at all. Same with the random power weapon spawns. I want to have hope that it'll be good but so far it's not at all.

The magazine mentions a "modification" slot in addition to an armor ability slot. Taken in conjunction with the initial perks comments from March...I can see where people are coming from.

That's what I thought at first, but then "Forerunner Vision" pushed me over the edge. I mean, are you serious? There was a GAF thread a couple weeks back where Black Ops 2 info was leaked. There was a killstreak that lets you see through walls. I laughed a lot that day.
And then I found out it is probably in Halo 4.

My hope is that 343's going to announce that this aspect of Halo 4 is effectively 'half' the multiplayer experience and that the other half is real Halo and that that half is getting just as much love and attention as the former.

If they do this they might as well kiss Halo goodbye in the ranks of modern competitive shooters. I'm pretty sure every Halo fan who's stayed around until Reach is sick of that shit fragmenting the userbase and changing the rules of the game every 4 months.
If the core game mechanics, perks, progression and all aren't solid enough to allow 6 simple playlists, rotating the unmodified maps with the unmodified modes, then they wasted their time creating the multiplayer period. It won't hold the fanbase just like Reach didn't.
If you can give Call of Duty props for anything it's that they don't put their players through that bullshit. The game that ships is set in stone as the same game that's around for the next few years. The weapon bloom thing Reach went through put me off from ever playing that game again.

So much hate over a game we haven't played or seen a lot of. I'm excited to see the new changes. I'm happy that they added a drop in-out system. I know a lot of hardcore are gonna bitch, but I'm glad that I can play a few matches and quit if I have to leave without being penalized.
