Which game has disk stacking?

i4ac5r9uEnT3c.JPG

This may seem like a small thing but I'm super impressed that they provided a quality case for a multidisc release. Not even MS does that (disc stacking ftl).

Is that the US version? PAL version has shitty disc stacking. And NO, an unknown autograph isn't gonna make up for disc stacking :(

I'm installing this on my 360 but got a warning saying "your device doesn't meet Xbox 360 performance recommendations, buy an Xbox branded USB". It's a sandisk, should I be worried?

I never see Dark Edition available on Amazon and GameStop never have pre-order option in store. Is it like super-limited on-line only?

Anyone see it at local store (US)? I really want to support them for bringing this game to console by getting Limited Edition but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

GAF I'm torn, I picked up my Dark Edition pre-order today, but haven't opened it. I don't know if I want to keep it or flip it for massive profit. =(

It's just packed with useless crap that will probably end up crammed in a drawer within a week, might as well sell it and use a portion of your profits to buy the regular version (buy drugs or something with the rest).

I figure this is an ok thread in which to to ask this question:

the enhanced edition of the original game is on sale on GOG. worth it?

Corky

Nine out of ten orphans can't tell the difference.
The only issues I'm familiar with TW2 and hard reboots are the ones where GPU overclocking is causing them.

hmm I see, I had the problem even without an OC but I can't try now since I uninstalled the game :/

The scene in the Flotsam inn early in the game inn where you talk to your friends give me more a sense of companionship and friendship with the NPCs/party than the entire Dragon Age series. They really nailed that part.

the party at Shani's place was better.

And Shani is better than Triss too.

The Witcher 1? Yes. Just get ready for weird combat and lots of jank.

Yeah. The first Witcher is one of those games that is amazing in spite of itself. I just played through it for the first time last summer, and the game mechanics are a bit rough around the edges. The story is top notch, however, and the graphics are more than passable.

how is the combat weird?

Imagine Diablo, except you have to time the clicks of your mouse for max damage. Also, you have to change your stance depending on the type of mob you're fighting. It's not as bad as it sounds, but does take about 15-20 minutes to adjust to. I was used to it by the time the prologue was over.

My suggestion for those going through the first game is simply play it on easy mode. There are other weird things with the game like a potion creation system that is fairly complicated, that you don't have to mess with on the easier modes of the game. This is not a game that gives you a big sense of accomplishment for playing on hard mode. It's worth it for the story and atmosphere.

Man, been so long since I last played. Dark Mode is kicking my ass so far, but I'm making my way through nonetheless. My question to anyone who's beaten Dark Mode: are the Dark Mode armor sets worth making? My instinct is to not bother with the first set, but instead try to save up and get the Act II set immediately. Going Swordsmanship this playthrough, if it matters.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

The 'party' was one of those weird video game moments where you're told of something, in this case a 'party', but the technology fails to back it up. An oversized room with four people in it, and a drunken run for cheese.

actually, i'm hoping the graphics are somewhat simple cause I have to play on my laptop with a geforce 310m. let's just say this comp isn't optimized for gaming...

voice acting was great (I played in Polish). I didn't care about technology

Yeah, you are going to have a rough go of it. The Witcher 1's engine is a gigantic pile of shit. What it appears they did is take the Neverwinter Nights engine and layer huge textures on top of the thing that the engine was never meant to support.

It WILL work, I played a bit of it on an original Alienware m11x with a relative of that GPU, but you will want to play on the lowest settings.

ffs... I'll redownload everything and try to downclock my gpus below factory settings to see if that helps.. can't believe my luck

I feel the same way. I've got one coming from Amazon tomorrow. I'd love to flip through the art book. But that's about it.

Same, really. Think I'll just sit on this for a bit, the ones currently on eBay don't seem to be selling. I've waited like a year for this port, I can wait a week or two more.

I'm on the fence on this game right now (Xbox). I had the first one and might have played it 10 hours before putting it away for good. I was in tech school at the time so my schedule was pretty tight plus I had a bunkmate. I don't remember why I didn't stick with it maybe since there was no internet I probably just got sick of not being able to google shit while i played.

Anyways, my PC sucks now, and I don't remember anything about the story. I'm pretty sure I want to drop the $60 for it..but idk. Just figured I'd air my indecisiveness.

tl;dr: The game is a solid 30+ hours, right?

Do I want this game??? FFFFfffffffff

Solid 30+ yeah. Took me around 34 hours to finish almost everything on normal difficulty. The story of the first game is mostly separate fyi, if you really wanted you could just read a summary of it. It's mostly only the ending that sets up the second game.

I'm about an hour in and the game has some wicked pop ins. Soldiers in the background popping in and out. My sword disappeared while still fighting in the arena.

I have a fairly new 250GB 360 Slim, the game is installed.

Dark difficulty is loads of fun. Enemies hit brutally hard and take decent punishment so you've really gotta be on your toes when it comes to timing their swings. It also encourages you to use more of the tools at your disposal.

When I beat it on Hard I basically completely ignored Magic outside of the occasional YYYRRRDEN - largely content and able to just use Alchemy and roll dodge + sword thrust/pirouette my way to consistent beatdowns - but even in the prologue sections now I find it's much more beneficial to mix it up more on Dark.

You can revert to other difficultis form Dark but then you can't go back and you lose all armour acquired. The only thing that I would warn noobs like me is that there is a place in the game where you get stripped of your magic and alcehmy...if you don't update your sword path it is ssimply brutal on Dark. I normally bring a tonne of traps if I can't mellee a tough enemy and these were sttripped as well.
end of act 2 you play as a wraith
That said Dark is by far the best setting...cool armour options and best challenge balance (at least up til start of Act 3 wehere I am.)

FOr the price of a cheesburger it is definitely worth it to find out. I find it tedious battle-wise but story wise its top notch so far. THe bar fighting is actually better than the QTE in tw2.

NO question this games's combat is vstly improved over tw1...I find it 2nd to the souls games for realism and strategy..the magic part is actually superior.

I have no shame in saying that's the only part i finished using a trainer in a game. Doing that with magic build sucked terribly.

Also is there a mod to revert the weird effect you have when you equip the only dark mode equipment? In my last playthrough i did most of the second half of the game without using them only because i hated it.
