Um I think we should take this with a grain of salt. Lumines for the Vita is basically Mielke's baby. He has every incentive to get people to keep hope alive, buy the Vita and in turn, hopefully buy his game.

I'm willing to bet that this is hyperbole and the games that are in the works are not really going to change the Vita's fortunes around much. Sony simply does not have anything in their stable that they can announce that can guarantee system sales like Nintendo does with its handheld. Unless Sony has somehow invented a time machine and can go back and keep MoHun exclusive to the Vita, nothing that Mielke knows is in development could possibly justify that kind of statement from him.

This would be a stretch. How many people are gonna buy a Vita because of what he said? 1?

Might want to get around to announcing those games. An AKB48 game was just announced in the new Famitsu for the 3DS. The only bright spot there for Sony is that it isn't the PSP series from NAMCO, but it's going to sell a lot.

This thread is going to evolve into "Vita is doomed and there is nothing sony can do about it" thread isn't it.

John from 8-4 also hinted at some big Vita games are coming. I think the most interesting games will be at TGS announcements.

Monster Hunter.

That is if 2 of them weren't already coming to the direct competitor.

Direct cheaper competitor. I think it'd be different if they announce a separate MH series as in continue the Portable series on Vita and the mainline series on Nintendo systems.

So what is the point of not announcing them?

To get people who sold their launch Vitas on Craig's list to buy them again?

I can see not announcing games that Sony (or the company in question) doesn't really plan on making - Gran Turismo, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, The Elder Scrolls, since there was the backlash when the game either gets canceled (DMC, TES), seemingly forgotten (RE), a half-assed job (GT)

But if there are games that are actually going to come out within a year or two, announce them.

It would help, but the harm has been done. Previously if you wanted to get your MH fix, you had to buy a PSP, and by that I mean the real MH experience. I know there's a MH on Wii, but if people don't get why that's different they obviously don't understand what the MH experience is.

Now, even if MH comes out for PSV, it's not the only place to play it. Yes the graphics and maybe the controls would be worse on the 3DS version, but honestly I don't think people care all that much.

It needs a hell lot more than Monster Hunter to live, this isn't the PSP ya know...

What does that mean? I see Monster Hunter having similar effects for Vita as it did for PSP. Higher system sales -> More developer support. It's the killer app Vita needs to get the public to bite.

3DS has something the DS didn't have which allowed for that to happen with the PSP.

Well the portable series is the best selling one. Only thing we can do is see what's going to happen. And playing MHP2G with the two sticks is so good(I am at 96 hours now and i started playing last week) that it would be a nightmare if at least MHP3 doesn't come out of it.

Yup would be amazing. If MH releases for Vita I'm definitely playing it there rather than the 3DS. I'm just saying it's not going to mean all that much for PSV sales.
