Halo |OT3| Remember Reach?

Hey Computron, I'm almost positive that the Play & Charge kit does NOT work with the PC like a standard wired 360 controller does.

I definitely want to double check though, because if you're right instead, I'll be a happy camper, lol.

Halo 2 PC is awesome.
Play and charge kit does not make a wireless controller usable on PC, but the receiver in Computron's image does.

It's hard to tell from the impressions whether there is actual bullet spread on the BR or whether the recoil was causing the bullets to land in different locations; last we heard, there was recoil but no spread.

Would very much like there to be clarifications about reticule bloom on the DMR and magnum.

at least he said the bloom wasn't noticeable...

I translated the preface to his post as:

"Guys, I know there's a lot of bad, but suck it up and look on the bright side."

Based on that, im not sure how much I can read out of his post. Is he suger coating things? I hope not, but I dont see how bloom can be implemented and not be annoying unless it only kicks in after the killing shot. I would quite like that actually, it would probably make the game quite tense, either land a 4/5 shot kill or get punished. However when lag comes into play things could get messy quickly.

Not sure I like the idea of personalised weapon drops either. How does the game decide who to give them to and when? If its random that would suck, personally I would prefer it if it was tied into killstreak rewards. In general I guess that's a feature that can be turned off, but is there a way to configure traditional weapon spawns?

Its awesome that some of the community has had a chance to play the game, cant wait till we eventually get videos of full matches.

What's the point in a six shot pistol with bloom if we can always spawn with BR or DMR?

Please make the BR a four shot. It just has to be.

If the DMR has bloom then my first instinct will be to stick with the BR, but I'll definitely give the new DMR (and Halo 4's bloom) a shot. If it's anything like the TU bloom, though, I doubt I'll like it.

Edit: Sorry to hear that the BR isn't four-shot.

Made me laugh.

I was totally srs

Frankie, seriously now is it realistic to expect some video footage anytime soon?
I assume we won't get anything from what was played yesterday because as you said, it's an old buggy build, but maybe some recent build footage?

I want to play Halo 2 With GAF.

What do you all think about this?

Would you be up for this?

Thanks for setting all this up it sounds like a blast. I just started going through the campaign on legendary again and dear god I forgot how ridiculous those jackal snipers are.

As for the DMR bloom, I thought the DMR had a set rate of fire? What will bloom do exactly if you can only fire it at a certain speed anyway?

Maybe 343 is trying to make the multiplayer look bad so nobody is disappointed when they finally play it. I mean, it can't possibly play as bad as they make it sound, right?

DMR has a locked, slower than Reach firing rate right?

BR is 5 shot? I remember people in Halo 3 though the BR was a 5 shot for a while too.

I'm confused lol. I just wanna play :(

Thinks the Evil Empire is just misunderstood.
It's hard to tell from the impressions whether there is actual bullet spread on the BR or whether the recoil was causing the bullets to land in different locations; last we heard, there was recoil but no spread.

As I've said before, when fired at distance, the recoil of the gun will cause bullets to spread a bit. The BR has changed slightly since we last discussed it. Additionally, there is now a very small amount of additional bullet spread to account for that placement. This should not affect the majority of players in the vast majority mid to close-range of encounters. It's my understanding that this was implemented to help balance it's effectiveness at long range against other weapons in the armory.

Haha, yeah... I kinda wish there was an update that was almosr unanimously positive in reception. Right now it seems like one after the other of instantly reeling back and hoping it'll work out.

That's not true. COD fans are absolutely rejoicing with each bit of info.

Or at least 343 hopes.

This game sounds really good. Its like CoD and Halo combined!

^^^ Thats fucking sarcasm up there in case you couldn't fucking tell morons. GOD!

There's always this mix of delight and confusion as impressions from early builds roll in, though with so many new elements it's to a greater degree this time around.

The only thing that concerned me in the last impressions was bloom.

Sounds good to me. I'm actually and advocate of spread on the BR for that very reason; I imagine when playing it might be hard to separate out the 'spread' caused by the kickback from the true bullet spread, which is what I was wondering about.

aka bad people won't notice spread, but we're afraid good people will shit on AR users again so here's some gimping.

It basically was considering the spread.

With faster kill times sprint wouldn't be as offensive, but it appears that won't be the case.

Can't, gonna be bathing in the waters of Electropop at the M83 show tonight.

Why the heck is the battle rifle a 5 shot? I bet it's because of the instant respawn people just spawn in and since its so quick just finish the kill. Hopefully there is options to take off the bloom and increase the damage, but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh shit, you are correct, it only worked on my system because I had the reciever plugged in as well. I thought it was working through the wire until I unplugged the reciever.

Just to be crystal clear, IF you want to play with your wireless controller in Halo 2 Vista, you must have the Microsoft Wireless 360 accessory adapter from the picture. It is $10 and THE ONLY official way to play with your wireless controller. The Play and Charge Kit cord will only charge the controller.

Wired controllers work with no setup.

I made this point the other day; most of what I've read sounds bad but what I've actually seen and heard of the game so far has me excited. It's a weird time to be a Halo fan that's for sure.

It has stopped being funny about 50 of those posts ago. We get it. It's like CoD. If you're gonna bitch, at least be original about it.

I'll stop complaining about Halo turning into COD when Halo stops turning into COD. Put me on ignore, you won't hurt my feelings.
