I hated Metroid and want something online to play. I've tried tetris during the last week and mario kart and couldn't get a match at all. Really want to play something on my new DSlite since it's battery won't burn out after 20 minutes (seems like with old ds online)

What happened to those card games that were sort of shown around DS launch time? Ultimate brain games or something, is that the next "touch generations" title?

You couldn't find a match in Tetris? I have trouble finding 4 players for a match but, I can get someone for 1 on 1 in under a minute everytime.

Oh, and StarFox is the next one I think.

Needs online fishing game...a good one, that is!

Why don't they make an online 2D fighting game for DS? It can't do 3D for shit, but a 2D fighting game seems right up its ally.

I hope WiFi Connection sucks less in the future, though. The connect times are total crap, and THEN you have to find someone to actually play with.

StarFox should be good.

My grading on the online play:

Mario Kart DS: D, its an A when no one snakes, but an F when people do.
Animal Crossing: B, time traveling kind of ruins it and theres not much to do
Tetris: A, its good for what it offerse
MPH: C, its more of an evasion war than deathmatch, since everyone just goes off to get health the whole match while spamming their alt

Hopefully StarFox DS is the first flawless online game thats a real game(not putting anything against Tetris or AC, but come on they are puzzlers and a sim).

Is that game import friendly (I have zero knowledge in Japanese)?

The only challenge is the menu screen, and reading a translation at GameFAQs or something, and playing for more than a week, you'll be more than fine...

The game is totally worth it - this and Jump Superstars are awesome...

Just thought of something...why the hell isn't there an online version of Contra (NES) for DS for $19.95? Up the graphics palette to a Super-NES-like palette, and I'll buy that shiznat!

Don't fret, that game has been out forever in europe and it isn't online enabled (for the two of you that didn't know it).

I would like to see Bomberman, Bust-a-move/Puzzle Bobble but most of all Tetris Attack (or whatever they call it nowadays) online, for the DS. Please please devs, make it happen. I would absolutely love to have especially Tetris Attack online on the go.

uh tetris is a real game.

are we really at the point where tetris is being put in the "non game lol" category? ugh

that would rock

dr.mario/puzzle league for gba was really disappointing. bare and boring ports, unpolished. didnt feel like a nintendo product

I can't believe you said that.

Really quite miserable when people use the gas button, too. Nothing in the world more annoying.

I love the people that refer to snaking as an "advanced" technique. Riiight, that only certain karts can do? The man was right, snaking is a near game killing flaw for the online mode in MK, just as much as Alt form is a near game killing flaw in the online for Hunters. Both are good fun if you play with friends, but online against random character who has 1000+ wins and 4 losses is retarded. And for the record, MKDS should have been 150cc online, may have made snaking less effective.

Heavy carts are useless in MKDS with or without snaking. Snaking isn't the problem--it's the awfulness of the heavy racers.

snaking is not a flaw in any way at all. im not good at it. some people are. but i deal with getting beat.

its not like every race is against a snaker either

Not only that, but the menu is in katakana, and Ichigo says what each option is as you scroll over it. Because it's katakana, it's borrowing words from english. When Ichigo says it, it's pretty obvious what the mode is called.

It would be hilarious if one of those hacking groups came out with an auto-snaker for mario kart online. I wonder if those fruitcakes that still defend it would think about it now? :lol

Ultimate Card Games has a release date of 9/1/2006 at EBgames.com. September 1st is a Friday though so that's probably not right.

Then it wouldn't take skill.

It's like saying some group should hack the autoaim for console FPS games...

That's the game I'm hoping for, personally. Online poker, etc - it's going to pwn.

Touch! Bomberman Land - to be released on 20th July in Japan (my birthday!)

http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gamedb/softinfo/bomblandDS/

Oh yeah, forgot about that game. But I was under the impression the game doesn't really focus around the original Bomberman gameplay, does it even include a real Bomberman mode online? If it does, that's nice at least. Although I don't want any of that adventure/party/puzzle game or whatever crap they throw at us, just a pure, fleshed-out Bomberman game online. :/

funny that Nintendo doesn't know when the games are coming out either.

and how is Nacho Libre online?

I'm looking forward to Clubhouse games, 8 player Wi-Fi with 30 games? Oh yeah! Just needs to be budget priced to make it worth it.

I asked about online play at the Codemasters website for Micro Machines V4, and got this response from an employee at Codemasters:

Yes, the Nintendo WiFi Connection is supported.

however, there's no game sharing- it's one cart per player.

So, unless he's just mistaken (He originally posted unsure about single cart multiplay and followed up changing it to no single cart multiplay, so it seems like he's checking his facts), Micro Machines V4 will be online later this month as well.
