Well, you already know I don't assume much from Whedon.

I guess we'll find out once the BR hits, but I can pretty much imagine how that scene will play out fairly well:

They meet, she's elated to see him, he's elated to see her, cue witty joke about how he's still young and she's old, they finally get that dance, end scene.

*yawn*

Hey, you might be right, who knows. He said he liked the scene in interviews, that it was cut for balance and time, so we'll see.

so you're gonna have to buy the most expensive version to get a non-shitty cover:

I get why they did it for the poster but now everyone and their dog has seen it, I want a Blu-Ray cover where Iron Man has his damn helmet on.

if you are paying RJD $50 million to be in your movie you might as well put his face on the cover. They'll put the Iron Man helmet on for Avengers 2 when RJD drops out for a contract dispute and they replace him with Ryan Reynolds.

This morning I saw Avengers for the second time. Caught the Imax 3D 10am showing, and the theater was about 70% full. When the movie let out, there was a line outside queued up for the next showing. I'm pleasantly surprised it's doing this well in its 3rd weekend.

First part of that, fair enough. The Iron Man helmet is still ridiculously cool though and it's a shame to not see it like that.

Second part, ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

They could've at least had his helmet on with the masked flipped up to show Downey's face.

Oh yeah, this would be a fine compromise. Having it off completely is weird.

I couldn't care less about the cover.

However, do I really have to buy the 3D version to get a digital copy? That massively sucks.

At this point I knew WB finally quit on the franchise.

I'm sort of surprised that we haven't heard any talk of a continuation or (shudder) reboot of The Matrix from the studio. Even if it would likely not be directed by the Wachowski siblings.

Of course the fact that Joel Silver has fallen out of favour with WB brass and Wachowskis have moved onto another sci-fi project at WB probably speaks volumes.

The true thread.

It wasn't THAT long ago these were lucky to reach over 2 pages. What happened? The avengers made people interested or something?

BO threads usually blow up during Summer Blockbuster time, esp when there's a genuine 'blockbuster' in play (see: Avengers)

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Yeah, Box Office discussion is so much better than NPD right now. I mean, here we have...NUMBERS!!! LOTS OF THEM!!!AHAHAHAAH!!!

However, Avengers is MASSIVE. It has hitten the right spots in people immagination, which is something normally effective...but in this times of crisis, it becomes super effective.

I'm skeptical of MiB3. There was a significant drop between the first and second after only a 5 year gap. Are audiences clamoring for more in the series after a 10 year gap? It may still open well because of Memorial Day weekend, but I think it may underperform.

A reboot is more likely than a sequel. I have little doubt it will happen sooner or later.

Directed and written by Joss Whedon

"Do you know what happens to an agent when it is struck by lightning?"

edit: a reboot wouldn't be all that bad. It could start with the Second Renaissance.

It's been ten years?! I feel so old.

Well, they could reboot but the fact is canon-wise going by the MMO the Matrix's cycle restarts or whatever because Neo isn't truly dead. Lord knows if they did a sequel they'd go that route instead of showing the Second Renaissance in a non-anime way.

Man fuck the MMO, I don't have anything else to say about that. A reboot is a reboot.

I hope this marks an end of the "idea so poor it might just work board game licensing bonanza".

They could have called it "Space Navy" and had similar success. The only PR the license brought it was negative derision and bafflement.

Ah the old segment collage. Cos it worked so well for Matrix 3

Still the worst cover I've ever seen. I remember picking it up all those years ago and thinking "they definitely made this with MS Paint".

I got this awesome poster for the midnight Imax release of Avengers. I wish they could have used it for a limited edition Bluray set, those boxarts are meh.

Taylor Kitsch's agent should be given praise for managing to land him all these blockbuster lead roles when all he was known for is being Tim Riggins imo.

I wouldn't mind a Matrix reboot actually. I've been waiting for years. That film had way too much influence to let two crummy sequels kill any future potential.
