Any chance that GTA V will be shown during Nintendo's E3 Conference? I guess if it doesn't appear in Sony's we can assume that.

Huh, I could have sworn the Software Showcase was going to be showing Wii U titles on the show floor going by a certain poster. He seemed so certain too!

Someone please slap me if this has already been discussed to death/promptly debunked. I found it on GameFAQs, who got it from nintendo culture.

The background behind the Metroid logo seems to be from the Metroid Prime: Trilogy opening/trailer. I also think the "4" should be gray like the "2" and "3" in Echoes and Corruption. Otherwise, it looks pretty convincing.

"We've just taken what you could call the first step of the process. This is the first time I've ever had my next project announced before it's even entered development, and because of that, I fear that players will be forced to wait even longer than they expect to. Please be patient." - Sakurai

Yeah i agree, it really looks close to, but yet different to, the trilogy logo. And while the "4" seems out of place the whole "prime 4" is well centered...

Its a tough call.It has the NFC reader/writer in the right spot but it would have to be a dev kit controller because the TV button is blank

- The circle pads/analog sticks are too close to the screen
- The NFC marker is closer to the D-pad than the newest images show (It should be halfway between the bottom of the D-pad and the bottom of the screen)
- The "Wii U" logo is further right and larger than latest images

I might just be getting confused by the angle, but I'd say it's a definite fake.

About Smash Bros

From Go Nintendo (via Nintendo Power). Ruh roh.

Sakurai has mentioned several times that he wouldn't start Smash Brothers until Kid Icarus was done. They've had two months, so I think they could have easily pieced together a teaser if they wanted to...

So because EA was under NDA they couldn't announce any games for WiiU, but other -much smaller- companies can? (Slightly Mad Studios/PCars, etc)

Why didn't Nintendo "allow" EA to "advertise" their -future- products/titles themselves?

How does the NDA-thing work really?

They've barely even started making the game. How about they focus on making the game this early instead of trying to throw together a teaser for a game that may be 2-3 years away? They're likely still planning the game. Be patient, brother.

I thing it might have more to do with EA actually being at Nintendo's show, like how they were on stage last year briefly.

Aw crap, you mean they're not gonna rush out a game before it's ready? Total disappointment, Nintendo loses E3!

What you really want to do is pour through the NintendoDirect video and see if you can find the shot that the controller (and hands) was (were) taken from.

Ah, right, good point. The NFC marker is also a bit rectangular from what I saw at the Nintendo Direct, unless my poor memory is desquaring things in my head.

Smaller companies to some degree dont get locked down as tight because they are smaller. The average people watching E3 coverage etc doesnt give a shit about PCars etc but they do care about EA etc. That said PCars for instance hasnt been too vocal besides yeah we will discuss Wii U more and of course leaked documents. They arent actively showing off

Ubisoft is getting alot of slack because Ubisoft has a ton of Wii U stuff in development that is exclusive. That friendship earns them special access

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Man that Rising demo was really good, that needs to be on WiiU.

After watching that trailer I'm absolutely convinced the violence in video games has hit a ridiculous level. Absolutely unnecessary.

Even worse was Geoff Keighley freaking out like a psychopath after it happened.

Kid Icarus has been done a lot longer than 2 months. It released 2 months ago.

There wasn't even any blood, and the damn bodies disappeared.

"Unnecessary", get real. Don't watch any R-Rated movies, buddy.

Settle down. It's an opinion. If you don't like it, add me to your ignore list, "buddy."

I'd suggest avoiding Sony's conference if you've got something against game violence. GoW:A and TLoU are supposed to be fairly brutal.

No, he has a point in general. Video games are becoming rather narrow in terms of the sort of content they focus on - and that content tends to focus on violence. Usually with guns. Lots of explosions. Some QTEs here and there.

It's awesome, really.

Rayman will be demoed on Wii-U!

My
Monopoly
money's on Ubisoft reusing the leaked trailer (or at least parts of it) just to be cheap, even though the controller is out of date.

Aargh, I seriously hate this song. They're starting off as the worst conference for me already!

edit: On mute, I do admit that the dancing girls are better than the MS grammy guy.

There arent really that many games that doesnt have some form of violence in them. Even Mario Kart has violent element in it. I guess the "unnecessary violence" referred to earlier is to chop people up in tons of pieces. It looks pretty violent indeed. I'm not sure about Metal Gear Solid Rising, but i remember to have this feeling for both Manhunt and Postal. Unnecessary violence in these games.

In more than once in the MS conference, there were bits where somebody was slashed and a full human worth of blood flew out in a half-second. That's pretty over the limit right there.

Rayman Legends Wii U exclusive?

"We then have Rayman Legends, which is a Wii U exclusive title on the Rayman brand."

Yep, pretty much games are becoming R rated movies.

If the selling point for your game is gore, you're doing it wrong.

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about Rayman Legends Wii U.

I just went through the Metroid Prime Trilogy opening, and the art is different in the background and the logo is different as well.

Not saying it's real, but it's certainly different than the Trilogy logo/intro.
