I figure I would do once since no one else is, and I'll need to talk to people about the features of the game when it's out on Tuesday, so I scraped my old Game of Thrones OT and turned it into this.

Developer:TT(Travelers Tales) Games
Publisher: Warner Bros
Release Date: June 19th, 2012
MSRP:49.99(PS3&360)/39.99(Wii/3DS/Vita)/29.99(DS/PC)
Genre: Open World(PS3/360/and maybe PC?) lego game. The handheld versions are NOT open world

The Story:
In LEGO® Batman™ 2: DC Super Heroes, the Dynamic Duo of Batman and Robin join other famous super heroes from the DC Universe including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern to save Gotham City from destruction at the hands of the notorious villains Lex Luthor and the Joker. Batman fans of all ages will enjoy a new and original story filled with classic LEGO videogame action and humor as players fight to put the villains back behind bars.

Characters:
Though titled a Lego Batman game, Lego Batman 2 features many prominent members of the DC universe including Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, and so on. There are 5 dlc heroes and 5 dlc villains that will be unlocked at a later time or by pre-ordering.

Setting:
Lego Batman 2 is the first Lego game since Lego Island 2(?) to take place in an open world. The game drops you off in Gotham City where you are free to explore many landmarks of the city that have been turned into lego form such as the Arkham Asylum, Ace Chemicals, Wayne Enterprises, and many more. The developers have also cited that Gotham City will be perpetually stuck at night time because they tried daylight and found that it did not look like Gotham when the sun was up. It is also known through screenshots that Superman's Metropolis will appear in some way, but it is unsure how prominent it will be. It could be something as simple as a tutorial for playing as Superman.
Features:
•Open World Gotham to explore
•Vehicles are finally 'a thing' in Lego games. The game features the Batwing, Robin's bike, Batmobile, a Gorilla, and many other famous, and not so famous, DC related machines.
•The DC characters talk. They seem to be going with a fairly different voice cast than what you'd expect from the Justice League comics or Batman games in favor of 'quirkier' voices. I can't confirm this, but Lex Luthor in the trailer sounds just like Clancy Brown though, so it is likely that they have SOME of the Justice League cast.
•As stated before, many of the famous Gotham City landmarks will be sprinkled thorughout the world for you to explore.
•There is a 'main' story and several side missions. Certain villains like the Pengiun appear in these side missions, but it is unknown if they still show up in the main story or if they're there to unlock themselves in their own story since the main villains are Joker and Luthor.
•There is only one Batman, but you'll be able to unlock different Batsuits for him that all have their own individual powers, like his electric suit. Robin also has a biohazard suit.
•The game features a fantastic soundtrack based on many fan favorite DC based cartoon and movies. For example, the John Williams Superman theme and the Danny Elfman Batman theme to name a few.
•2 player local co-op. No online.
•In addition to vehicles for moving around the city, the game also features flight and Super Speed.
•According to a Gamespot stage show at e3, the character customizer is in this game, so if you want to put Robin's head on Batman, you can do that.
•The BatCave serves are your central hub for accessing things, but you'll still find vehicle spawn stations throughout the city
•There are 250 Gold Bricks to collect
•SPOILERS click here to see every character/vehicle in the game.

10 DLC characters as pre-order exclusives? Not good. Unless they're unlockable in game normally that's pretty annoying. Having said that this looks like a real step up from the first Lego Batman so I'm sure I'll pick this up at some point!

Pre-ordered at Amazon. Can't wait, love the voice acting now.

Hell yes. Day one on 360. May pick up Vita version depending on reviews.

This is the most excited I've been for a Lego game since the first Lego Star Wars.

Any word on if the PC version has local co-op? I know it's a rarity for PC games, but I seem to recall that at least one of the Lego games had it.

I wonder if Cassandra Cain will be in it this time.

The whining that she didn't make it in last time was kinda hilarious.

Gotcha. Yeah, I pre-ordered a while ago, just for the figure. =)

Thought you might have meant they were already available.

EDIT: wait, according to the LEGO thread, you already got one. How?!

Wanted this on vita..till I found out no open world on handhelds. Waste of potential. I'll pick this up on the cheap on PS3.

I was going to get it on both Xbox 360 and Vita till I found out that the Vita version is the classic "We had Traveler's Tales Fusion make a separate handheld version of this game" thing that always happens with Lego games. Still getting it on 360, looking forward to it! The original Lego Batman is still fantastic.

this show is not Breaking Bad why is it not Breaking Bad? it should be Breaking Bad dammit Breaking Bad
An example of equity among the ranks would be Vita suffering because of DS, 3DS, when it clearly has more horsepower than those two.

uhhh.....I better be able to get Nightwing in this game without getting it from Amazon.

Super stoked for this game though, my buddy bought me the first one as a Christmas gift, and I was extremely surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

It's a WB game. Weird preorder bonus stuff is no surprise at this point. Just be glad there wasn't a BestBuy bundle too. I'm sure it'll show up as all the Arkham City costumes did eventually. I do hope it shows up quickly though.

Criminals have taken over the city. There are no innocents on the streets.
Excellent, EXPLODE THEM ALL, THEN!

I've only played a lot of the Star Wars LEGO game, so I was a little taken aback by the GTA-style street cruising and running over people...but in Star Wars they try to murder you, so if the streets are full of criminals I can see why they didn't have a problem going with it.

my girlfriend has never played any of the lego games. she loves superheroes and especially batman (on the dc side of comic book heroes at least). she also loves being able to play games with me when we can. would lego batman 1 be a good start with her or should i wait till lego batman 2 comes out and start her out with the second one since it'll be newer, have voices, different/more characters, and is a bit more "open worldy"?

Get this one. The first was laborious to get through and lacked the usual charm. It was the first Lego game I couldnt bring myself to finish.

Pre-ordered Vita edition from amazon, mostly so I can play it at work (plus damian wayne DLC ftw!!), planning on getting the PC version too

There's already some Let's Play vids on youtube (360 version)

WTF is up with LEGO Nightwing's hair... it's so crazy anime and inappropriate

Mmm, I love the cheaper PC versions. They could stand to have some better options (AA is hard to get on AMD cards with past LEGO's), but they still look and play great.

I'd pick up the 3DS version of this, but it makes no sense to me that it's more expensive than the PC version and yet the handheld games usually lack a lot of content. Not sure about this one, but LEGO Pirates on the 3DS was missing at least one level from each movie compared to the console/PC versions. I totally understand lowering the graphical quality and some of the level structure, but IMO these games are simple enough that no content should be lost between versions (Big set-piece moments, or open-world excluded)

i thought it was fun for what it was since it was something that wasn't from a movie franchise really.i didn't play it as much as my niece and nephew did. i guess i'll just wait and get this one. her and me just finished playing through halo 3 together and i got marvel ultimate alliance yesterday as well. just tryin to find games that we both can play when we aren't watching each other play somethin.

I also played the 3DS demo, and while it was enjoyable, after seeing the Let's Play vids on yt it's really disappointing the level of content and polish missing from the handheld versions.

I don't expect the Vita version to be much better... but I prefer it over 3DS when possible.

Since I'm also getting the PC version it bothers me less. if I only wanted ONE version, I'd be upset that the Vita, with all the processing power and ram it has at its disposal, still isn't getting the open world features :(

Superman - Sooo I was thinking. Gonna look around the zoo with GL. Maybe ride a monkey. Y'know, for fun. Then, I'll just fly over to the Batcave. Have my theme music playin' in my head while I fly. Then, gonna steal the Batmobile for a joyride and mow down some innocent citizens with guns a-blazin'! What are they gonna do? I'm the goddamn Superman!

XD This game is insane! can't wait.
