There were rumours that Fergie rates Powell highly, similar to Phil Jones and would keep him at united using him in the 1st team.

I'd like to see him on loan to a PL team unless he performs well in the first team when given the chance. Like ronaldo did.

Yurt

il capo silenzioso
Daniele De Rossi: "Steven Gerrard has always been my idol. For 10 years he was one of the best in the world. You see Gerrard defending and attacking. I would like to be able to play more like that"

So that's two now?

So who of his 20420529052 players is going to Juve?

Pogba, as well as a switch for Ouasim Bouy to Pescara.
lol

It's probably BS again. We'll see.

Some other suggestions not in a particular order:

Veronica Mars (took awhile to watch this but GAF wore me down and my fiancee finally gave in -- we both loved it and Kristen Bell is absolutely delicious.)
Justified
Six Feet Under

The Wire (probably seen this, but if not...)
The Sopranos (probably seen this, but if not) -- I'd watch both of these over Deadwood
Treme
Curb Your Enthusiasm
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (slow to get into this and then I absolutely plowed through like 4 seasons in a few weeks)
Bones (if you have any interest in the procedural format, this is pretty solid surprisingly.. nice chemistry)
Homeland is my favorite show of the last year but you've already seen that. :D

Mad Men (of course)
Breaking Bad (of course)
Additionally:

Louie, Extras, Generation Kill, Boardwalk Empire, Oz (season 1-2 or so are good), Entourage (first few seasons or so)
I have yet to see Rome, Deadwood, Justified, Homeland & Carnival

Hit or miss comedy: Eastbound & Down, IT Crowd, Veep, Community

What else is good?

Heh - http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jun/19/cristiano-ronaldo-12th-best-world

The Barcelona president, Sandro Rosell, has said that Cristiano Ronaldo would not get into the Barça starting XI, claiming the Real Madrid winger is only the "12th best player in the world".

Ronaldo this week took offence when the Danish fans at Euro 2012 chanted "Messi, Messi, Messi" after he had missed two good chances against the Danes and Rosell has now risked to further anger the player.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is not the second best player in the world, he is the 12th. The first 11 are the Barcelona players," Rosell said, according to Spanish paper AS. He added: "Outside Spain everyone is clear that Messi should win the Golden Ball, but here …"

The Barcelona president also had a dig at the Real Madrid manager, José Mourinho, saying he would much rather have Tito Vilanova in charge at this club. Referring to an incident when Mourinho and Vilanova clashed after a clásico, Rosell said: "I wouldn't accept a coach who wants to win at any cost. I would apologise if a coach put his finger in the eye of another."

Ronaldo reacted badly after the game against Denmark, saying about the Messi chants: "You know where he was at this time [last year]? Do you know? He was being eliminated in the Copa América, in his own country. I think that's worse, no?"

Argentina, in fact, reached the quarter-finals of that tournament while Ronaldo went on to score two goals in Portugal's decisive Group B game against Holland.

Christian Tello better than Ronaldo confirmed

Tello isn't a starting 11 but whatever, he's pretty good looking right? That's enough for Kyoufu/Salazar.

Well Pedro and Villa aren't starting 11 right now. Tello and Cuenca. You think if Rosell was going to make such ridiculous statements he'd extend it to his whole squad.

I can't believe the lack of people mentioning The Shield - it really is amazing and of all the ratings I have seen there seems to generally be a 'top tier' of just 3 shows, The Wire, Sopranos & The Shield. Those are the best that TV has to offer, no doubt. Everything else is just a bit below, maybe by the time they end BB or Mad Men or some other show will join them but right now those are the shows you have to watch.

One other recommendation, a show which some have credited with pretty much starting the idea of TV shows being as good as great films, is Twin Peaks. It's a little dated, a lot strange & it gets all kind of messed up in Season 2, but anyone who values TV as a medium owes it to themselves to track it down.

Just realised it's nearly time for OT12, even with the league break and a separate thread for the Euros we can get through 20,000 posts in a month or so.

I'd say it's still OT12. Until July 1st the international transfer window does not open, hence the new season has not really begun until. Thus we must remain in OT 12 until we finish that and can at last move into a glorious new age.

Do we make it OT12 or OT1???

It's a major decision I don't want to take
Considering we can get through an OT a month even in the summer break, I think we should stick with OT12 for this next one, then by the time "OT13" is needed it will probably be time for 2012/13 OT1.

Anyone have any title suggestions for the next topic? Will sort it out when I get home in a few hours, should be around 10,000 posts by then probably.

Watched a trailer. No. NO!

Inside Men
Workaholics
The League

And you should really watch Rome and Homeland.
Ya, I'm on it (Ro, Ho).
Workaholics, The League: watched the promos, mhhhhhhhhh...I don't know man :/

The Shield seems too actiony, 24ish, dumb :/ Still, I might try to start watching it again at some point.
Twin Peaks is already on the shelf, but I went on a Lnych binge not too long ago.

/thx to all btw.
Maybe we should vote on the best series and put them in the OP, lol

Great call on The Shield.. one of my all time favorites. I loved most all of 24 too. I guess I assume a lot of people would have seen these shows already though and sometimes forget to mention them. Fringe is fantastic as well.

The pilot for The Shield is probably my all time favorite.

NO NO ROSELL WTF ARE YOU DOING, STOP EMBARASSING US. :/

Villa will walk back into the starting 11. We missed him so much this season.

Think it should be ot12, as I'd like to update the teams. Will get that done during the summer

Look for Preamar (HBO) in TPB, trust me it's an amazing show. It's a short serie, it will end in the episode 12 or something like that, right now we're on the episode 6 I think. Best serie I've watched in a long time. First episode is kind of boring, but from the episode 2 and so on everything is amazing.
