It is, isn't it?

One a more serious and Halo 4 related note.
Why are there a 1st person and a 3rd person view when using the thrusters? Has somebody explained this already?

I saw a gif earlier today with 3rd person, but I saw gameplay today, too, with a 1st person view...

E3 build =/= build that exists now.

Pretty easy to explain: Different builds. The game is not final and everything can still change.

Man, Longbow is a really fun looking map. It seems like it has a lot if different branching paths, and a ton of different sight lines. While watching it I was reminded of Breakpoint, Longshore and Timberland all mixed into one for some reason. One way or another, I really see some fun BTB battle games to be had. Was there a total of 4 hogs on the map? If so, I wonder if any of those are placeholder for other vehicles they haven't showed yet.. Chopper please?

Artistically Longbow only makes me wish the snow was more snowy looking, and the human interiors look a little boring. Otherwise, its a sexy, good looking and detailed yet clean looking map.

I still think it looks like something out of Borderlands.

Seems too low-tech.

Yeah it doesn't look bad persay, just kinda looks out of place. That said, wathing it in motion I began to like it, but thats probably due to the fact that Im used to it. None the less, Halo 4 has some sexy gun design.

Thanks guys, don't worry about me though. It's something I've experienced enough for it not to effect me much, it's just a little different when it's a close family member.

Anyway, so do vehicles still have "weak spots?" Like the circle on the left of the ghost? If so, I'm guessing the Warthogs weak spot is the back which is marked by fuel cans now?

Also, this RT warthog segment is hilarious.

It's a great one with an inside joke directed at mastrbiggy.

Unfortunately it will probably also get you permabanned. You might wanna change it even if it is an inside joke.

Hate to break it to you but inside jokes don't really work when its shared between a tiny number of people and posted in a large community. You just come off as a dick and with the influx of juniors that really is not how you want people to look at you since the majority of the longer standing members are abit on guard at the moment

Anyone want to party up and play a few?

Not with you, smelly.
Id love to but its getting late

So you're saying there's a chance..

Yes. But as you can understand, it's problematic for all the reasons we have explained (and that you guys mostly understand anyway). This is not a tease, it is a simple proclamation of fact. If there's no sensible way to achieve this, it will not happen. If there is, it may.

This is incorrect to a point. I said "we are looking at it."

i prefer that to what the other guy said...

THERES STILL A CHANCE OF 1-50?

I know you are going to ignore this request. But... what do I have to do... wait continue you reading! It is not a request for a hoodie! I promise! Let me continue the question. ... What do I have to do that you look into the concept/idea of Forerunner comic written by you or Greg Bear and drawn by Juan Gimenez? Not saying that this is like an amazing idea but it is.

You're the second person to play Downlinked in matchmaking, then.

I played Cragmire for the first time earlier, I actually enjoyed it.

You are never getting a hoodie.

Seems like it might be a good sort of system to hopefully prevent boosting/cheating at least.

Seems like 'gotta get my 50' is a very halo issue... because no one was saying 'damn I gotta get my 2500+ bro' in WoW; and no one in Starcraft 2 says 'man, I gotta get into the grandmaster playlist!'

(oh wait, I totally forgot about all the win-trading in WoW before they made all of the personal ratings hidden; I think that was more for getting loots/gear than actually getting to the highest levels though)

Cragmire doesn't seem nearly as bad without the banshees. I actually had a decent time last time I got it.

Level of hate mail of my maps in matchmaking:

Uncongealed: death threats and hacking attempts
Cragmire: personal insults and "fuck spire"
Downlinked: You have a 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000 chance of getting this map. I've literally never gotten feedback on it. Ever. It's been in matchmaking for almost 7 months now.

Don't sweat it. I get a 1000 death threats a year and there's probably only a 1 in 100 chance they are serious.

Seriously though, the map exploiters in Living Dead take their exploits seriously. I'm pretty sure the fixed up Infection variants were like a damn lightning rod for all authors involved.

With Halo: Silentium coming next year, this sounds interesting. Hmmmm...

Some fans have made their "Forerunner" Roleplay Comic Strips on DevianArt in the past.

Fair Enough.

If it's anything a lot of us from the competitive community have talked about ways to ignore cheating which seems to be a big issue. Like Jazzy said why not have ranks similar to Halo 2/3 but have them reset after a short time (1-3 months). With that the accounts hold no merit to sell. Now there is always the issue of standbying and boosting but even that happens now with no rankings, I believe that would fall under a ban-hammer issue. On top of the resetting people have a lot more motivation to get on and play and re-earn their rank. That's just a few idea some of us have thrown around. Glad to hear you guys are listening and are working hard on a system that works for both parties.

Likely a side effect of making a 50 fairly easy to obtain. I mean, I'm pretty good at Halo, but not top 2% of the entire population good. People in Starcraft absolutely do hinge a lot of enjoyment on moving up the ranks, but they also don't come in with an established example of the top rank being achievable by normal folks who aren't pro-level at the game, which grandmaster tiers and 1% Onyx is. I never felt the desire to get to a 50 in Halo 2, because I never came close. I was happy anytime I reached the next rank, not because it was closer to the (then unattainable) maximum, but because it showed that I was getting better. That's why people do it in Starcraft, as far as I can tell. Brad at Giant Bomb, who is way into Starcraft, just tweeted the other day that he was excited to be matched up against someone in Diamond Tier, because it meant that he was moving up in skill. It's just a cool psychological thing to have something to show for your progression as a player, and I liked that some systems do it in a way where you can't ever get to the top.

(this is not an endorsement of the 1-50 ranking system in either game, because they were fundamentally flawed for all the reasons that I and others have listed out a hundred times)

If the nade wasn't like right on top of someone it wouldn't do anything, but that's partly why I loved them, they where literally the perfect tool to strip shields for a headshot or finish off an injured dude

Then we simply have different fundamental rules on the matter :b because I see them as an equivalent and seeing as how they also made it so you can't spam nades unless you wear that Armor Mod I think it should stay strong.

Halo 4 looks pretty fun, im guessing BTB will be good. Im still not convinced I like how it looks as a more competitive game, but im sure I will enjoy stuff like Infinity Slayer as a more casual game, which im kind of cool with.

BTB is definitely going to be WAY better in Halo 4 because the maps are definitely bigger overall. Longbow was a 5v5 and that map looked kinda small for it lol

Thing is there will always be cheaters. I'm gonna upload a gameplay to youtube sometime soon of me getting standby-ed in Super Slayer. Who cares about Super Slayer that much? There will always be cheaters.

Not to mention that Universal Sprint makes some larger maps work OK for smaller teams/no vehicles. Longbow, for example, can be played sans Hogs, no problem at all. Changes the pace but is still compelling. This, in my opinion, which is one of the best opinions ever, makes almost all of the maps fairly convincing TS maps.
