I really enjoyed Mitsuki's songs throughout and the whole feel of it.

It suffered from the same issues that most of the anime in that genre have, felt super girly and slice of lifey at times. Really boring with dull uncompelling characters, and the main protagonists could have been designed significantly better with some sort of cool appeal, which they lacked. Couldnt connect with the characters at all. I cant remember how far I got I feel like I saw the first of its movies and maybe through the first and second season, been so long.

A show could be made for an audience but still have appeal to people outside of it. I think I watched some anime made for kids and at least in those, because they were interesting, I dont think Ive made a complaint that they are just too kiddy for me, because they are pretty good and enjoyable.

Universal appeal! This show wasn't made for just the young girls.
I'm just saying thats why it feels super girly, because it was originally intended as manga for female audience and over time it captured a much larger audience including males with the anime. BUt its at its core a shoujo show.
For some reason My Little Pony keeps popping in my mind.

You know, if RKB was just the basketball and the character designs were awful, I might have been coaxed into watching it but as it stands and with that ratio I don't think I could be convinced to see it even with a 2000 word post. (can you even fit that many on GAF's character limit?)
MLP is an excellent example of this actually. Im not saying its not NOW marketed towards guys too, just that it originally was supposed to be a girls show. That guys latched onto it was incidental. But when creators saw the potential they threw the bait out there for the male demographic and BAM.

But there are shoujo Manga that dont feel as if they are girly. Sailor Moon could have had a few more elements in place to make it, at least appear and seem less girly.

Not quite. They didn't get the memo that it had to be insipid, and so they went about making a show that appealed to them. This is what attracted male fans to begin with.
True, they decided to make a quality product to begin with and the fanbase grew from that attention to detail.
You make it sound as if they changed the show midway to suit an opportunity, when that was not the case.

The jointed action figure types have always been more up my alley...always preferred the poseability though I'll get the occasional regular PVC depending on my budget. Had to drastically cut back over the last few months due to stupid medical bills though.
That might be the first two nenderoid I ever bought (I want Marika and Kuroyukihime)

. Wish I had read impressions before viewing then Id have just skipped. First minute and the last 45 seconds was the only actual decent part. Hopefully next week has magical action with the new character introduced last episode.

Sailor moon is one of the first animes I watched when I was kid in the early 90s, it aired right before saint seiya and after dr slump, so I do have strong nostalgic feelings towards it but it doesn't stop me from seeing, it is what it is and that it is an extremely formalic monster of the the week show that continuously spams old footage at you advertising there merchandise.
One piece > any anime that prioritizes merchandise whoring over narrative
I wouldn't even give it apis and no way in hell davy back fight arc that arc had it's hilarious, incredible(sanji and zoro team up) and tons of wario worthy troll moments.
