I'm gonna just whine some more and say I want a really obscure/awesome JRPG character. Superbot needs to show they have balls by pulling out some awesome fanservice here, not current gen third party promotion :\

0_o I would love a Vita sequel. Match made in heaven. Of course make it cross platform with the console as well, but Fat Princess on the Vita makes about as much sense as a PixelJunk game on the Vita....perfect sense.
Been playing Jak II for a while now, and in all honesty, if this was the first game, I would have dropped the Collection by now. I'm just not enjoying it, despite really liking the first game.
I hate the checkpoint system. There pretty much isn't one. You can go through a whole area and messing up once means you've got to start over. And it's so easy to accidentally fall off so that means doing the entire level again and/or you're counter being reset. It makes it worse since I just got playing Sly which was really helpful about stuff like that.
Combat isn't very good either. If you could aim your guns it would be fine, but since you can't it can come down to luck at times. Same thing with the challenges if there's a good vehicle nearby. The camera controls feel wrong as well. The whole game seems like it hasn't aged well. I just find the game really frustrating. Especially that dock level. I don't mind the open world traversal though. I actually like it.
It's disappointing because the first game was so relaxing and fun to play. Had a charm Jak II just completely lacks. Still gonna play Jak 3 though since I've invested myself in the series now. Hopefully it refines the gameplay a bit more.
Makes me a bit worried about Ratchet since the little I've seen about it resembles this game too much. I'll see how true that is soon though

I felt the same way, I don't see the hype behind the Jak gamse. I recently completed Jak 1 in the HD collection but left jak 2 at about 15% it was just too difficult. Jak 3 was a little better but I prefered the light hearted more platform esque first game.

Mario sucks I went to Nintendo world last month in NYC and I hated it there. I walked out in about 20 minutes because as a former Nintendo fan, this literally makes me sick. I can't stand the Wii's outdated graphics and the stupid games it has. I feel as though Mario should lie down and just take a break for a while. He's too overused and I don't like it. This game is going to sell 10 million copies before the year is over and hopefully that will scare Sakurai and have him just ask Superbot and Sony to borrow their characters and then we'll have Smash Bros X PASBR on the PS4 and Wiiu.

I played it a lot at E3. It felt derivative and hollow aside from the cast of characters.

We do not dog Nintendo in this thread. I don't care how many nintendo fans hate on PSAS, we do not dog nintendo. It makes everyone seem like a hypocrit, because we would not have this game without Nintendo.

Where's clockw0rk? If we tie his hands behind his back and put weights on his feet, then toss him into a pool with a copy of PS All-Stars, he'll drown if the game doesn't have a soul.
This is really the only way to find out IMO.
I'm just worried that this game isn't visceral enough. Gotta have that to get full immersion and really feel the magic. Video games.

For anyone: Is it weird I never go online to bash games? I don't want to talk about any games I don't like haha. And I am having a blast in the beta, really enjoying it. Telling me it isn't good/is a ripoff isn't going to make me enjoy it less.

It's just missing a few more cartoon characters. If they add more cartoony stuff it will feel alot better.

Yeah. I lost at my first casual smash bros tournament because someone decided to spam rolls on me and I couldn't figure the very tight timing between rolls that you need to kill that strategy. Very frustrating.
But in the beta it feels like rolls have lag at the beginning of the roll and not the end. It makes dodging require a lot more prediction then you expect and honestly it just doesn't fell good doing it. I didn't want to say anything until i get some time with some easy bots or something to try out things in detail without the chaos and online lag, but it seems like others are feeling it too.

I really haven't seen much hating on this game recently. Obviously you're going to see some passionate fans throwing criticisms left and right, but that is true for many games and developers.
I didn't read through the entire thread, but a good number of people said that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was different mechanically even though it is clearly inspired (or whatever term you prefer) by Super Smash Bros.
I don't think calling it a rip-off necessarily equates to hating it.

I suppose, but I didn't interpret it that way. I read many posts saying something along the lines of, "It's a rip-off, but that's not a bad thing."
I believe I went through the thread adequately enough. Most of the posts are:
"Yes, it's a rip-off."
"No, it's not a rip-off."
"Here's how it's different."
"The man is entitled to his own opinion."
"This thread is..."
I haven't seen many comments actively hating on the game.

Eh you can call it a "rip-off" or "inspired by" all you want, its just words, I think most of us just take issue with completely dismissing it solely because of that, which it sounds like you aren't.
And i think when we get new news worth hating on we usually hate on it in the new topic for that news, and when there is no news to hate on we just default to positive because if you hate or don't care about the game in general, then you likely don't care about this topic. You can only complain about Evil Cole and new Dante so much before it gets old.
No its true, i would say only about 20% are haters, but they are the most verbal.

I want to play this and MGS4....but I have to study for my finals. Ugh.
Ratchet & Clank is much different from Jak, and in my opinion better. The weapons are easier to aim, especially thanks to strafing, and the checkpoint system isn't anywhere near as fustrating as it can be in Jak II.
I had fun with Jak II myself (except maybe that dock level....yikes), but it definitely had issues. Jak 3 doesn't have those insane difficulty spikes thankfully.

Still think Evil Cole is a twist on the Good Cole character and not it's own unique character. They keep saying one character per franchise even as recent as EVO and Comic Con(?). Be cool if it was a stance change or a story progression thing that would lead to the ability to select the two as alternate costumes just with a different moveset.

Yeah, I think the problem was that rip-off was used as a reason for dismissing the game and even saying that because of it they "threw their morals away" on the very first post. It set the tone for the rest of the topic as to what "rip-off" meant. I really don't think anyone would have cared if they basically said what you are saying.
I laughed at the "moral" comments. Those were probably some of the most far fetched ones in the thread.

I liked the comparison to Zynga and Gameloft myself, and saying they should be ashamed use fake names for the credits. lol.
Anyways....Almost a week to some good news!!! Gamescom baby! As a PS3 and Vita owner Gamescom is looking like there will be a lot of reveals and info. Might even get some price drop info. Would love to hear about a PSASBR PS3/Vita bundle and bundling the game in with PS3 systems this holiday.
