I really think we'll be seeing a head-mounted display before the end of this coming gen. Then again, I've been known to get ahead of myself with my predictions.

If the Occulus Rift pans out, I think that could very well happen. It it gains support as an accessory in the PC gaming space it could move into consoles as well. Time will tell.

I'm waiting for virtual reality since 20 years ><

Maybe this bundled with the PS4 to start being on the right track toward this glorious goal ? :D

Oh and don't forget the idea of a support to hold the Gamepad in front of your eyes while you control your character with head movements (camera) + the wii mote or wii u pro controller. Ok, it won't be ideal at all (especially the not curved screen, the more apparent pixels, yadda yadda), but with some system D and home-made magic, we can imagine tapping into the video signal sent by the system to direct it to a more adapted display !!

I want mah 360° Pilot Wings damnit ! ><

PS: HYPE !

I hate that yellow stripe. They should have kept it as simple as possible, blue and white.

Well... it fits the S&SASRT theme (?) :p

That's great and all, but it still only fits a limited amount of designs. I'd rather it be as neutral as possible so it won't clash.

Watch them announce Nintendo Direct during Sony's conference. I remember they announced the Wii global price drop and the New Super Mario Bros. Wii launch date in the middle of Sony's TGS Conference. :lol

Imagine this occurring simultaneously tomorrow:

Sony Gamescom:
This is the new PS3 model. Base model is $149.99.
Nintendo Direct:
Wii is now $79.99.

Sony Gamescom:
Lets look at some Vita games.
Nintendo Direct:
LOOK AT ALL THESE 3DS TITLES COMING BEFORE THE YEAR IS OUT.

Sony Gamescom:
The Future of PlayStation is bright.
Nintendo Direct:
Preorders start now.

Meanwhile in reality:
Look at all these 3DS titles delayed until 2013!

:/

I'm still mad at Nintendo for not celebrating Metroid's 25th anniversary :(
Hopefully, they celebrate her 30th one in 2016.

btw... I saw a S&SASRT Wii U cover (fake of course) and that shit looks amazing!
The more I think about it, the more I think Nintendo nailed it this time with the boxart.

I have yet to see a game cover that looks bad with the Wii U template :p

edit: here..
it is like they were born to be together lol

I feel Sega had a little part with the Wii U game box design lol.

Man, I'm like still buying four 3DS titles this year. (Paper Mario, Devil Survivor Overclocked, Zero Escape and Epic Mickey)

$80 Wii right before the WiiU launch?

Sorry but Sony overtook Nintendo in the delaying part.
That doesnt matter if he wants to play the 3DS games earlier :/

I'm fine with the 3DS lineup. But it makes me even more curious. Some fullfledged WiiU project from internal developers has yet to be seen, but meanwhile there also have been no new game announcements for 3DS this E3, while several of the already known projects need to fill up 2013 now.
To me, they make it feel like there has been some colossal fuckup in overall development and management of Nintendo recently. Can't really get my hopes up for Direct or the september thing, but at least they are around the corner.

In terms of gameplay: Mario & Luigi series > Paper Mario series > SMRPG

In terms of writing: Paper Mario > Mario & Luigi > SMRPG

In terms of Music: SMRPG = Mario & Luigi ≥ Paper Mario

SMRPG feels so barebones and lacklustre compared to its sucessors, it's not even funny.

How does it feel bare bones? What is lackluster? SMRPG has such a grandiose sense of adventure to it. It has memorable characters and locations, along with a fun combat system.

As I'm from EU, I couldn't play this game until Virtual Console. It felt like someone took Paper Mario and removed all of its charm, finesse, polish and content.
Many SNES games especially from Nintendo have aged wonderfully and are still highly enjoyable to this day. SMRPG is not one of them. Almost all the Mario RPGs afterwards are simply too superior on almost every level. It's like a prototype for some of the masterpieces that came later, so I guess one can be thankful for that.
Sure, some ,,true'' sequel to that game could perhaps be better, but I don't see the point of that.

- Who is planning on buying the Wii U?

- Why are you going to buy it? And if not, why not?

- What is your opinion about the console? What does it needs? What does it lack? What other information are you waiting Nintendo un unveil?

I'm planing to buy the Wii U at launch

Because I'm an admitted Nintendo fanboy and my YouTube channel

After playing it I think it's amazing for a new Nintendo console.
It needs a PRICE!
It lacks a HDD.
how the account system will work.

Paper Mario sold me on the 3DS as soon as it was announced, so I'm happy with the end of year lineup. At the moment, I'm not quite interested enough in the WiiU and it's games to justify buying one, but the day Paper Mario WiiU gets announced? That's when my purchase will be guaranteed.

If I ever got an interview with him it would be the best interview ever...The questions I'd ask would be great.

Wouldn't take too much to tank Pachter, just press him on actual gameplay and mechanics questions and how they may or may not impact sales and trends. Watch the pat answers run like water.

Not a big fan of the new box art...

Did you post your questions on GN/twitter? Might as well. I mean, assuming they aren't ones like a lot of GN's ("Why do you hate Nintendo?" "Why are you so stupid?"). They make me laugh heartily, hahaha.

This interview would be sooo good if RMC chose the bad questions. I mean, I think he should choose the good ones, I'm just saying.

Frankly, I think they should do a reverse interview, with Pachter asking the questions and RMC answering. It'd be even more off the wall that way.

Agreed. I want to see more of RMC's opinion. Maybe he should do some type of RMC asks or something.

Edit: I know we can't create a thread based on this because it isn't actual news, but I think it would be a great and horribly unproductive thread. We could have gaffers tweet RMC questions too. Man, I'm enjoying this too much.

My rage for the Wii U knows no limits, Nintendo's secrecy has frustrated me to no end. I seriously resent them and I believe by early 2014 this console will have some great games to offer but still the weakest by for of Next Gen. That is what I have accepted.
Wait aren't you an Apple fan? How do you feel about their secrecy? (other than being worse than Nintendo's these days...)
On my friend's PS2 and Xbox 360 games, I occasionally (much more than I should have to) look down to check and see which buttons are which and then back at the screen. This takes a fraction of a second. I don't think it will be any more difficult to do so with the GamePad, and I suspect it's less much annoying when the reason for looking down is a bit more valid or practical (double-checking which letters are where for a QTE is a really annoying reason to do so; that's one of the things that makes me not a big fan of that particular mechanic).
Yeah switching focus isn't hard at all...it's something you've been doing your whole life. I was just pointing out before that the detached form factor makes it different from the DS/3DS. It should be fine as long as games are designed with that in mind, like something like The World Ends With You (or anything else with simultaneous action on both screens) would be harder to play on the Wii U cause of the increased separation between screens.

I did I asked "Why are you at times very hard on Nintendo and the fans?".

With all the stuff he's saying I can't be nicer than that.

Pachter has agreed to an interview with GoNin. This should be interesting...

Id like to ask him if providing people with a lifetime of superior quality entertainment over the course of several decades warrants faith and fandom of the company that provided it.

If his answer is "no", then id like to know how much more stellar a companys products and track record would have to be before being a "fanboy" of them was justified.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
I hear lots of "Why does this game need to be on PC?" especially from gaming journalists.

This annoys me to no end, but it's been a stigma of this entire generation. You have an audience unfamiliar and uninterested in PC gaming (and that's fine) unable to separate their taste from fact, assuming because they're not interested the platform is problematic and not worth gaming on.

But you see it from people too. Early in this generation, when Oblivion came out, I went down to EB Games to pick up my copy. The dick who sold it to me tried to sell me on the 360 version (including a 360 console) as, according to him, it looked better and had more content.
