What is the worst port job this gen? On consoles or handhelds.

The bar has been raised with the Silent Hill HD Collection.

But then Skyrim PS3 holds it's position with the infamous 0FPS moments.

Has any game topped these two gems?

Right now... PS3 Bayonetta isn't looking so bad with these 2 games listed. At least it's VERY playable.

Any opinions GAF?

Silent Hill HD.

The Skyrim PS3 port is bad, but it's still playable and they've taken steps to fix it. If you played that game NOW, you wouldn't have that problem, but that doesn't give solice to people like me who suffered through it.

Skyrim for PS3, definitely. Just get it for PC, or 360 if you must otherwise it might as well not exist. Those problems should be considered unacceptable.

The Sims 3 on consoles is unplayable last time I checked, as in after some point you can't continue because of tech issues.

you're excluding PC, there are amazing ports out there. console ports are generally playable, not like that on PC.

You should ask what the worst Console to PC port is, wasn't there a game where standard PC optional settings were fixed like framerate etc.

If you are allusing to Dark Souls, Durante has fixed it.

Regarding console to PC ports..Even in the worst case scenario I never consider picking the console versions instead because it ends up looking and running better on my rig than it does on either consoles.

No matter how bad the PC port is I still prefer it to the PS3/360 versions, and "bad" ports are fairly rare these days. The huge majority of them is actually very good, I can't think of a single port that runs/looks worse than the console versions in fact.

Yeah, even La Noire is better on PC imo. It's capped at 30fps but the framerate never tanks on my PC, and it looks quite good. It's not a great port by PC standards but between this and the PS3 version the PC version is the obvious choice (as far as I'm concerned of course).

Bayonetta on PS3 hurts the most because I can't get myself to ever give a shit about investing in a 360 ever again.

That Silent Hill HD collection is pretty offensive, but I've got my PS2 originals so I don't give a shit, honestly. It's not like that "collection" is the only option for these games, you know what I mean?

Resident Evil 4 and Dark Souls are two of the worst console-to-PC ports I've ever experienced. Silent Hill HD still makes me hurt inside.

I would put Dark Souls for PC up near the top, but due to the magic of PC that travesty has been fixed.

If we're being honest it has to be Silent Hill HD, for destroying two classic games and being inferior to the games it's supposed to be HD-ifying, and Skryim for PS3, for being functionally unplayable when released and to this date being broken and to this date not being fixed on the disk and to this date offering zero accountability to the consumers that purchased the title.

In addition, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas need to be placed right the fuck near the top with Skyrim. Terribly produced ports.

I only played the demo of Two Worlds 1 on 360, but the framerate was so bad and consequently the controls so unresponsive it felt very much unplayable to me.

It is practically the only option for a majority of the people who would be interested in this specific version.

Most people are not going to buy an old console and a used copy of the game or take the time to get the PC versions running on a modern PC.

The hell? I realize the controls could never perfectly translate to the DS, but the port itself was otherwise great and pretty much improved on the original in every other area.

Super Mario 64's controls are inextricable from the experience, and the graphics are duller too.

Silent Hill HD Collection
Personally anyone want to play it would have already done so in PS2/ PC. But yeah, it's really a terrible port.

Skyrim PS3
Played on PC flawlessly, knowing the PS3 version problems and not gonna touch it, so I don't know how bad it really is.

Bayonetta PS3
The only game that I haven't played and sadly is only due to poor porting issues.

Any of you guys have played Lego Batman 2 for 3DS?
That shit is horrible, framerate dips, horrible video quality, differing quality between levels, N64 textures, it uses 3D on videos whenever it feels like it (some have it, many don't), some menus are mysteriously 2D-only as well, it's just complete laziness.

The game is fun... but sincerely? I feel ripped off, but that's all my fault, I had never tried a Lego game, not touching them ever again, first and last.

That is true.

Putting in for PS3 Skyrim. Whether or not it's the worst port here, it's the one I had the worst experience with. The more you play, the more the game punishes you with single-digit FPS and crashes. Game really reminds you that the universe tends towards entropy.

It's still 30fps. The animations are keyframed at 30, so there's nothing that can be done about that. It's just the resolution that was unlocked.

I'm assuming they underestimated how it would be received by gamers and press and didn't think about a possible PC version. Which is weird because it is a "sequel" to another well-regarded game.

Edit: my bad, Durante is an unofficial patch? Can't find that thread. Nonetheless it's up there as one of the worst console to PC ports.

God I hated this port. The game was so bad, I thought it was unfinished.

Hey, I was trying to remember Legend of Kay a few days ago, thanks!

The worst thing is, that's the version the Vita build is based on.

Bayonetta is a bad port, but the game is only bad by comparison to the 360 version. If it was the only version, it wouldn't have gotten the derision it has. Skyrim is massively worse.
