That sounds like a stream I dont see why they will only live stream in the store, and we have the rumor of gamestop showing it live, I think like BY2K said it Nintendo might announce the live stream a few days before Thursday.

Referring earlier to the discussion of TFLOPS on Wii U, take into consideration that performance is the main thing to keep in mind when comparing the Wii U GPU to the HD 4850.

The Wii U will use a custom GPU designed similar to the HD e6760 for the power consumption/performance.

The HD e6760 operates at just under 600 GFLOPS but scores higher than a HD 4850 (1TFLOP) on vantage scores.......


This is why Nintendo told developers to design games with the HD 4850 in mind for performance only (the Wii U GPU will also have more modern features, Compute Shaders etc). Make sense?

That wouldn't really be accurate because that's a PC-to-PC comparison. It's tough because the customizations (which I forgot to mention in the other post) aren't known either. About the best I could say is performance-wise it'd be more like taking a 6570 and putting it in a console environment. But even that's a rough comparison.

Dunno why he's thanking Dual Pixels, but that's the site that had a few crazy rumors on their site (can't remember what they were). However, the rumors seem to be gone from the page. Maybe they have an insider and their rumors are true?

Edit: I found em. It was the gamer card rumor and the Kingdom Hearts HD collection and the Castlevania rumor that was confirmed not to be in development

My Wii is dying, it plays some games fine others it plays for a while and then disk error comes up.

These 2 months need to hurry up I need the WiiU, dont wanna spend money to get this Wii fixed again, had it since shortly after launch.

Homebrew it and backup your games on a hard drive or USB before the laser goes out.

Does anyone actually know how much money Nintendo paid ATI for the GPU?

When people talk about it not being that great, they're always like "YEAH NINTENDO AND ATI SPENT YEARS MAKING A GPU LESS POWERFUL THAN BLAH BLAH BLAH" sort of like they do in regards to CPU.

But isn't it possible Nintendo and ATI only had a small team working on the GPU and didn't devote a ton of resources to it, and as such it being only a moderate improvement?

Sure is possible. I mean Nintendo don't take videogames seriously given they have all these other industries that they are in, so they probably had a couple of new employees working on it in their spare time.

1. Is NSMB U still a launch day title or just launch "window?"
2. What color is everyone getting at launch? I'm leaning towards black, even if it is more dust-friendly.

Nintendo's business is designing games, not GPUs.

Are you implying that because they only do games they devoted a ton of resources to designing a super powerful game machine?

There is little to no chance this WONT be streamed somewhere, its wii u big coming out party it would be a bit of a pr nightmare if this wasnt streamed or if any of the news was embargoed it would be silly.

Anyways I'm excited about the Protroller because it's fully wireless and has rumble, literally the only two things that annoy me with the CC Pro.

Oh my god they thought that far ahead! I hope the lineup for 2013 won't just be delayed launch titles... thanks for the info man, it'll be about 5pm where I live so I'll be tuning in, hopefully it will get streamed!

I appreciate that the Protroller (nice name guys) is shaped like the 360 pad. Out of everything the 360 has done to piss me off the past few years, the ergonomic controller isn't one of them. Oh, and thank god I can return to the proper BAYX format.

I'd love it if the Wii U gave us another way to charge our Wii Remotes. I hate dealing with that crap. The PS3 and 360 are so much more convenient. I actually stopped playing my Wii for a while because I got tired of charging batteries for it.

What can we realistically expect in terms of post launch games announced? I expect a late RE 6 port to be announced, plus Dead Space 3. Obviously there will be no EAD Tokyo game or Retro studios game, as both of those will be late 2013, early 2014. What else can there realistically be?
