Gotta be "ETERNITY" now. "IDENTITY" no longer works.

Plus, if the Watcher sees all of time (i.e. no sleep), then this seems to fit....

Eternity, at unity, atrocity, otiosity, stoicity, xtianity. Eternity makes the most sense, I think.

Chronepsis is truly neutral in all things, dispassionate and unconcerned with the unfolding of events. He observes, but does not act except to guide the spirits of dragons into the afterlife. While he is a god of "eternal law," he cares nothing for justice, as Lendys does. Chronepsis never speaks or communicates. Chronepsis is said to know the future and how all things will end, but he will not reveal this knowledge to others.

The Watcher, as Chronepsis is known, appears as a colorless dragon with dull, decaying skin through which yellowed bones poke, making him an outsider in the struggle between metallic and chromatic dragonkind. A magical brass harp hovers above his head.

Hmmmm.....

If this turns out to be some f2p, social, mobile, or anything like that damn. That would suck more then if it was just DS4 for me.
I'll jump from a building.
Not really, but I'll feel like it

But considering the teasing that is going on, and the fact that I think the fine folks at Obsidian are generally decent people, I believe that's unlikely.

Well, here is all the text we got from the teasers.

Day 4
"What do the words mean?"
"Nothing. The Dirge of Eir Glanfath is found without form, a lone voice crying out in mourning because it must."

Source code
"To tenderness, fellowship. To fellowship, vigilance. So bring we all to the Night Market. I am the Spindle of Esenath. Know me by my light and stand with me in darkness."

Day 3
"The book unread is unwritten. The reason we don't explain it is the reason we use it. Its power is in its mystery. That is the Leaden Key, in part, in whole. Is it clear?"
"Digging for truth buries the seeker."

Source code
"Two centuries ago, your divine champion told the people of Dyrwood to grovel at his feet. If you've come on pilgrimage to the blasted crater that was our reply, Godhammer Citadel is that way."

Day 2
"I recognize your pain. Your kind must learn it comes from straining against the turning of the world. It spins thus. You cannot stop it. One day, you will wake up. You will stop pulling. The pain will be gone. Until then, all your waking hours are suffering."

Source code
"In time, waves washing against the fingers of Geiran's Grasp will call them back into the sea. The difference between you and the sea is that the sea does not stop."

Day 1
"This world wants to drag us down, it does. It made you a Watcher. No one asks for that. And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around my neck, you don't have to carry it one more step. You think they won't let you rest, but it's not up to them. It never was."

Source code
"There is no sleep for the Watcher."

You should read JE Sawyer's Formspring if you like reading his opinions on game design on narrative. It's really quite insightful.

I used to read it regularly, he even replied to a couple of my questions. His Formspring makes me depressed every time I realize how many canceled games he has.

Oh yes it is unlikely. I dunno what i would actually do if I thought there was a good chance of it happening. I think I would have to turn in my Obsidian BFF Club membership badge.

Chronepsis is variously described as the son or brother of Io. The two gods are represented together as a dragon with nine heads consuming its own nine tails. In some draconic myths, Chronepsis is seen as a re-enfolding that mirrors and perfectly balances Io's extension of being into the worlds. As Io becomes all things, Chronepsis draws all things back to himself.

Chronepsis counts other faiths neither as allies nor as enemies. Boccob has a similar outlook to his, but they are not allied.

Kind of like the ouroboros

Sooo an immortal PC that wishes to die? Could be fun.

To early to know. It could be anything. For example Watcher can be main character in game but it isn't actually playable by player character. Something like this dude in The Longuest Journey/Dreamfall who maintained balance between worlds.

Or that razor lady in PST.

If it's a kickstarter it needs to be something like this for Obsidian:

1 million = fund the project.
2 million = more polish.
3 million = even more polish.
4 million = oops still buggy, more polish.

That's a lot of polish translations. I'm sure they'll make room for german or french as well at the 3 and 4 million tiers. Come on.

when it went up I knew that 4 days was too long, it was just enough time for the natives to become restless and start having ideological wars about the validity of the kickstarter system.

I'm polish dude and i like what you said.

Poland is still a big market for CRPGs so more Polish the better!

In every gaming shop you can buy Baldurs Gate Saga, Fallout Saga (meaning first two with tactics) yes it is still selling.

Trivia: Both games are published by CD Project and translation to Polish were also done by them and they are still selling them.

That's awesome. You can find Fallout Trilogy (what we call FO1+2+Tactics) in the USA in most big stores but I doubt you'll find Baldur's Gate anywhere.

That's weird.. you can still find Baldur's Gate and pretty much any D&D game here (Atari recently released a comprehensive collection iirc), and I really find it hard to imagine that in the US there wouldn't be a market for them.

There isn't really much of a retail market for PC games. Don't know if the Fallout trilogy is even still commonly in stores.

Mainland Europe is pretty much the heartland of PC gaming at the moment (ignoring South Korea and China), and retail is still pretty good for PC games there. I recall reading that the PC version of Blazblue was aimed at the German market explicitly and of course all of the Thing Simulator 20XX games are made in Germany (except Railworks).
