The reason for this is pretty great: dem governments are thinking about after the war with the BETA. With no more aliens to deal with, it's going to be time for some good old fashioned Terran VS Terran. And since every country is shitting out mechs all day every day, having something like the uber death laser will be a huge advantage.
Me too. I wouldn't mind a little more Muv-Luv in my life.

So, who knew I would turn out to enjoy this after everyone, including ANN, decided that it was shit. lol
I guess I really am blind, since I didn't really care about how it looked.
The France arc had a nice ending that wrapped up the two major story lines, and they had some scenery porn in the process:
And of course they couldn't resist this confrontation:
Which still makes me wonder if something is suddenly "okay" because of the lampshading. I don't even know anymore, since we're living in an age of meta self-awareness.
And, I guess this means a third season is... possible? That teaser at the end must mean something, but I have no idea what it is trying to evoke.
I do find it interesting that even in the second season, family obligation and filial piety were also themes. Given that they've done it twice now, and the other characters don't seem to have any real big family hangups, I wonder if this means that the manga (and the next season?) will shift to some new focus with the characters.
I assume it'll be some wacky hijinks with the perverts and some random trivia before some small arc, yet again, but I'm not sure what else is left. The live action adaptation ended with the wedding thing (and played it up way too much to make it more dramatic, I suppose), so it'll be interesting to see what they have in store for the characters if it ever comes back.

What a great finale this turned out to be. When they first started the
arc it kinda felt like it was middling about with no sense of direction but soon enough, everything started coming together to create this really funny, charming and emotional experience. This was quite easily the better of the two noitaminA series and a worthy sequel to the original Moyashimon. If you're a fan of the first series then you owe yourself to check this out as it most certainly won't disappoint.

Hey, it got a jdrama AND a sequel already... I assume the anime is just part of the marketing budget at this point.
I dunno man, there was a huge sense of disappointment when the show first aired. Not sure if anyone else stuck around. lol

I think they'll manage to end this on a high note .. hopefully so we can get the rest later.
The ep itself was not as fan service as i would have hoped but still did an okay job as a setup for the final arc ...

I wouldn't call the sales middling, Volume 1 had sub 2k sales after the first season averaged around 8.5k. Articalys says it was being sold at a discount too.
Do you enjoy anime where the terrible CG looks better than the hand drawn mechanical animation? Does everyone being racist against each other sound appealing? Have you ever wanted to watch a show where the drunk Gurkha girl is the cutest thing about it?
If you answer 'Yes' to two out of three then yes, you should.

Yeah, I guess since I only watched the original after the first couple of episodes of the sequel aired, I didn't really have a problem with how it looked.
Then again, as I've said, I almost don't really care as long as the story itself is interesting.

While middling isn't the right word to use, it doesn't change the fact that there are shows out there that have sold around the same or fewer units only end up with a sequel. Combine that with the fact that it's an adaptation of an incredibly popular manga series and it wouldn't be that big a stretch to say a third season is possible, even if it is indeed incredibly unlikely.

I've come to the realization that I can only enjoy this show when the spotlight is on Ritsu or Sawa-chan. Thankfully this episode has some crazy awesome Sawako fanservice. I was certainly not expecting that and I would certainly enjoy some more service to mitigate my suffering while watching this show.
Lots of focus on Ritsu. Amazingly it takes the girls about 15 minutes to try to come up with a different solution to the problem other than switching instruments. Obviously there was never a problem in the first place - it's not like they would drastically change something like that at this point in the show nor should they. The flashback scenes with Ritsu and Mio were pretty adorable.
I'm not entirely sure why I don't enjoy this show. There is obviously a lot of effort put into the show but I simply cannot get invested nor feign interest in most of the characters in this show. Most of them are just plain uninteresting on every level particularly in Mio and Mugi and I just have downright contempt for some of the others in this show like Yui. Ritsu is by far the best girl in the band and Sawako is pretty damn awesome herself.
I do feel bad for Azunyan. She is the odd fit of the group and her sempai are completely incompetent and useless. I hope she gets some more time to shine along with poor Ui. I have no idea how that girl hasn't broken down yet taking care of her awful sister but god bless her because she keeps chugging along.

There are whole episodes focused on Azusa and her friends outside of the club. Jun is kinda like Ristu, so you'll probably like her.
This is amazing. Im afraid Im just not strong enough to watch it.
