Hm, I'm not sure if they could keep it feeling fresh. I think it ended at just about the right time.

Regulus, you put my K-ON! watching to shame, if only I could maintain that pace!

They could make them do more club related activities or something.

I just want to see more of Kyouko. :(

Yeah, I think I know what you mean. I think it was duckroll who had mentioned in his posts that at the beginning of the show because you don't know the characters it's hard to maybe relate or care about them. The cast did sort of come across as more one-dimensional and following different established anime type tropes in the beginning as well.(...)
More or less that is the gist of what I wanted to say. I'm happy to see that you tried to understand it!

the names of the characters are great Darjeeling, Orange Pekoe, Assam, Erwin or Anchovy.
Who will really have the guts to go against someone like Rommel-chan? Invincible character confirmed.

Tangentially-related: Square Enix has sold out confirmed

There are only so many ways I can demonstrate Mugi's superiority over the rest of the girls before I end up in SOS.

Lol what?

I hate this show so much - I'm only watching it out of obligation of a bet I made eons ago. I haven't had this much utter contempt for a show since the last time I watched a Kyoani anime.

But the only two girls in this show who aren't completely insufferable, who don't make me feel like strangling them are Ritsu and Sawako. The rest could go get mowed down by some crazy driver in London for all I care.

Sold out in what? Is it because of it's on phones or because of loli bait games? if it's the latter I'm sure SE have done things like this waaay back then.
I'll go with both.

Aren't you the one who hates Fluttershy? This doesn't surprise me at all.

The Light of El Cantare
I'm going to start on the Water 7 arc soon, and I am planning to skip the Davy Black Fight arc. Could anyone spoiler tag me the story significant from that arc?

Actually, come to think of it you're going to want to watch the last two or three episodes of the arc. I just skipped the entire thing and missed out an extremely significant character introduction that in turn provides the impetus for an extremely plot-important
Luffy power-up
.

Accel World - End

I really had a lot of fun watching this series, and not just for KYH, Sky Raker, etc. Fun characters and some good action kept me coming back. Wouldn't mind some more of this.

Oh man this was a trainwreck of a show. When there are so many areas I could attack the show, it's not even fun to do so. The lackluster writing, shallow characters, ridiculous premise that goes nowhere, boring ass fight sequences, overabundance of CGI, fanpandering of the stupidest order, and the most trite relationships make this a complete waste of a premise and show.

This is disappointing, I had high hope of it after the first 5 episode in season 1. :( I guess I should had saw this coming when they turn all the enemies into jokers in season 1. Now I have even less motivation to start season 2.

But they wouldn't have to comprise if the just accepted that the whole of anime fandom is steeped in, and built upon, piracy.
I figure working as an anime critic, you are immediately compromised unless you live in certain parts of Japan. lol

the worst thing about the Bunny Drop manga wasn't even the ending but just how awful it looked
lol

Oda Nobuna 12 END
Every single thing about this show is dumb. The premise, the execution, the characters, the writing, the incredibly inconsistent production values, the shaky cam, the corny ending, everything. Every single thing about this show is dumb, and yet there was something about it that was actually kinda entertaining even though I can't really pinpoint just what the hell that thing was. Maybe the inevitable second season will illuminate to me exactly just what it this is about this but I doubt it.

I think it was just a matter of not taking itself too seriously and never really slowing down. It was always moving in each episode.

Tari Tari - Episode 13

Its pretty much the definition of solid for me, it didn't particularly wow me, nor did it really do all that much wrong. Like I said last week, it comes across feeling very workmanlike, and I guess I can't really pour too much scorn on that.

Tari Tari 13
Well, this was a farily predictable ending to this fairly predictable poor mans Hanasaku Iroha. Now don't get me wrong here, it's isn't a bad show by any stretch of the word, it just isn't a very memorable one outside of the
Nico Nico Douga 4th wall breaking
or the
bulimia
. If it catches your interest then it'll probably be worth checking it out but I don;t know if I'd actively recommend it to anyone.

*waves goodbye to the beanfaces*
I just find it amazing that everyone has the same reaction to Tari Tari. Like it was just something that happened. I think the length is what is holding it back, but who knows.

(Also, it's still better than HanaIro!)

I hope you'll excuse me a brief sidetrack into Japanese live-action for a minute here...

Space Travelers

There's actually some nice, traditional looking mechanical animation in that animated sequence, by the way, mixed in with some less-than-impressive stuff. The character designs are a little weird in that I can't quite pin it down to a particular era or genre of animation - it's got a little of Lupin about it, a little of older kids shows, a little of US animation. Kind of peculiar. The art on the trading cards which the protagonists collect is particularly unusual. I gather the show itself is supposed to be some kind of Cowboy Bebop/Lupin III/Star Wars mash-up about a hotchpotch collection of guys teaming up against an evil empire more out of self-interest than camaraderie, but they don't go into that too much.
So they just threw in an animated sequence ala Kill Bill part 1?

The Hosodapocalypse spreads to the UK!

£15?!?!

Man, for all the things to be envious of London-adjacent people about, clearly cinema ticket prices isn't one of them...

Well, it's not really like Kill Bill in that for Kill Bill it's an actual part of the story (in flashback, admittedly) that they just decided to animate. In Space Travelers, the animated sequence is for an actual show that existed in universe as it were - like Kujibiki Unbalance or Gekigenger III or whatever. The sequence is thrown in there to establish a certain amount of context for the movies main gimmick when it comes up later. It's not necessary essential, to be honest - the movie would have worked without it - but it was neat to see.

My NeraGaku and Blood-C tickets for Edinburgh came to less than £15 altogether!

I think the third screening of Wolf Children on the Sunday is cheaper because it's at some random cinema in Bethnal Green, but this is playing at the Vue in Leicester Square on their biggest screen (only 450 seats or so but still their largest one). Central London prices are kerazzy.

As an interesting side-note, in the latest 8-4 Podcast (I believe) they were discussing how 'chuunibyou' meant something a bit more than delusional, it seemed to have a social connotation as well, implying that such people were steeped in online culture/otaku stuff, which is what they devote most of their time too, and rarely had any interactions with 'real life' friends. I guess it's a bit broader than otaku as chuunibyou denotes a certain period in a teenagers life.

Apparently.

Gundam AGE - End

Limped in to the finish with more boring tropes and cliches (from Gundam and otherwise) on top boring, poorly developed and/or annoying characters. Add to it weak character and mech design and what we get is my most disliked Gundam TV series ever...even worse than Destiny.

Yeah, when I was down earlier in the year for Hyper Japan, I skipped out on the last day to do a movie marathon in Leicester Square (because it was the only way to catch all the movies I wanted to see with as little walking as possible, important due to blistered-K-On-tour-feet) and it cost me a small fortune, particularly given a few of the films were in 3D.

Pretty sure that the Vue will give you a better movie going experience than the Edinburgh Filmhouse for Wolf Children anyway. Not that I don't like The Filmhouse or indy cinemas in general, but it's not like they have the same kind of money to spend as those London city-central multiplexes.

Kind of a shame that none of the screenings are on at the BFI Southbank - admittedly I used a members discount, but Tiger and Bunny only cost me £8.50! - but it's cool that they see the movie as having a big enough pull to put it on what is likely a way better screen.

The Light of El Cantare
And here in the continental US the cry remains "How long?"

And really, non-NY/LA North America already knows the answer: if/when it gets licensed for home release here.

?.
Gear Second appeared first time in series when Luffy fought against Blueno in Enies Lobby. Before this it appeared in seventh movie though.

Luffy's encounter with Aokiji was his impetus for developing new techniques, though. You won't understand just how serious he is about his new power during the fight with Blueno if you haven't seen the final part of Davy Back Fight.
