If the Origin rumor was true Nintendo was pretty much stuck, it was either good EA support or good Ubisoft and Activision and maybe other support, the same rumor said Ubisoft and Activsion praised Nintendo for not accepting the rumor, which caused less EA support, sometimes it feels like Nintendo can't win.

Eh, fewer EA games is a win for more other publishers.

Even when Nintendo wins, they lose.

I'm just saying it would be nice to have all the support lol.

I do have to say I've grown more respect for Activison, they are giving the Wii U all of their big games so far.

Nintendo chose the lesser of two evils because Ubi and Activision definitely have better IPs than EA.

I honestly don't notice a difference outside of the Wii U version looking better... but that could be the level or the camera.

Much to do about nothing.

Are you real life?

They better fix that framerate on the Wii U version. Everything else about it is gorgeous.

That's what I'm saying... it looks stunning in that offscreen vid, better than the PS3 version, but I think offscreen vids can be deceptive as the titles are both probably using the same assets.

they need some serious Bayo2 backlash here

As much as something like that might be warranted, we shouldn't sink to that level.

From the Mass Effect Trilogy thread

Ok than...

You (and everybody else) should not be using this thread as a dumping ground for cross thread bitching.

Any word if/when Amazon will take preorders for this?

Something is broken in that relationship, I would not count on it this year. Nintendo needs to allocate their supply appropriately, and I would assume the launch/black friday forecast is done.

I'm not though, I was confused why he said that.

Not wanting a company to succeed is not that nice.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret:

95% of people who post on gaming forums are fanboys.
95% of the people who review games are fanboys.
95% of the people who make games are fanboys.

Less than 5% of the people who post on gaming forums will ever admit it.

We are the second chapter manbabies in the lives of boys who fought about SNES and Genesis on the playground and made lies up about their dads working for Nintendo.

You cannot love gaming the way we do and not have "preferences".

Having preferences is fine. Allowing those preferences to cause you to lose all rationality and logic is not. Sadly this happens waaaaaay too much.

I'm not the only one who sees the historical nature of Nintendo partnering with a major company to spearhead a new tech initiative and then bailing once they realize that they may lose control of distribution to their marketshare-hungry partner, right?

I agree with you on this point.

It's like some people are completely blind to the truth because of their preferences.

That's when fanboyism steps into delusional territory.

For instance, I'm a Nintendo fan but I think the Wii was a pretty poor console overall when compared to the 360 and PS3 despite having some great exclusives.

I can admit this because I'm not delusional and will not allow my fanboyism to make me so

:D

True... but even if EA delivered what would Nintendo have really got from them at launch?

A ME trilogy and maybe BF3? lol

Screw them. They're on the downslope anyway, I'll take Activision and Ubi support over them and so would Nintendo.

They made the right choice.

Agreed for the most part. Though I feel differently about the Wii. I enjoyed it overall mainly because I didn't really care what was on the other platforms. As the father of two very busy children, I barely have the time to play one console, much less multiple ones.

Nope.

But you do tend to be both one of the smarter and better looking Nintendo fans out there. Humble too. Almost like a cross between an Adonis and Christ.

I'm LTTP on this, but man, ZombiU sounds cool. Reading some previews about limited ammo and zombies being attracted to gunfire and puzzles that take place on the GamePad while zombies are coming after you and the risk reward for looking for goodies versus running into a group of enemies you might not survive an encounter with...It all sounds really cool. The multiplayer sounds really cool as well. Is there any other cool stuff about the game I've missed out on?

edit: The abuse of the word "cool" in that post was egregious, I apologize to the word.

You can die really easy and anything you've picked up to that point that is in your backpack will be lost. That corpse will then be reanimated as a foe with a good payoff if you can find it and kill it. If.

You got the basic jist of it... it's the Dark Souls zombie fps. The truest surival horror title ever created.

Reviews are going to be all over the place. Half the people enraged it's on the Nintendo console, half the people celebrating it's on the Nintendo console.

It's going to sell big, and be a breath of fresh air in the genre and gaming in general.

So if the mass effect trilogy is for new players why then are they giving wii U 3 only. Boggles the mind. I think its odd when all those other platforms have had all three games(ps3) and everyone who wanted to play them have already.

I bought the 2nd on the ps3 (didnt start) so happy i can play the first now and enjoy the entire trilogy!

EDIT: already covered. bit behind. thanks guys

I'm still left surprised at this whole ME trilogy shit. The people who were Wii-only gamers and are looking to get a Wii U are the perfect recipients for this freakin' trilogy. Nintendo's consoles are the only platforms out there with no ME game in its library. Then that twitter post says "it's perfect for new players"... hello? That sounds like the deal of the century for those Wii-only guys. I feel really bad for the people who were working on the port :/

First Konami screws MGS3D up with the HD Collection and now this. I wonder which game is next to be MGS3D'd or ME3 Wii U'd.

This is the worst part... the ME3 port was/is a fucking waste of time. It wasn't just a fuck you to nintendo fans but a fuck you too to the development team

Can you outline this history briefly? There has been much fewer than 2 dozen Nintendo platforms, so I don't think it would take that much time.

EmCeeGramr is talking about Sony making the CD attachment for the SNES. Nintendo got cold feet and cancelled the project, so Sony turned the it into the Playstation.

Sony and Nintendo were in plans to make a SNES CD-ROM Add-on. They were ready to announce it at CES (pre-cursor to E3), when Nintendo backed out at the last second and partnered with Phillips on the CD-i. The reason is that the agreement with Sony would've given Sony the rights to all the games on the system. Nintendo would essentially become a third-party on their own system, having to pay licensing fees to release games on their own system. Huge backstab by Nintendo to prevent horrible business deal with Sony. Sony then turned around and took their SNES CD-ROM Add-on, beefed it up, and it became the PlayStation 1.
