Only reason I might pick this up is for the "global" units aspect. Is that strictly DM or can you choose which unit you want to look like and play regular game modes?

First thing you do in MP is select which Country/Unit you'd like to play. You can use them in every game mode and mix/match as you unlock additional units for each country.

Wonder if the campaign will be any good. I enjoyed the first one's.

I've got no interest in the multiplayer. It's too bad I'm forced to buy the whole thing to enjoy one, probably incredibly short aspect.

Can't wait for Mike Shinoda's gritty lyrics to accompany my gritty as hell grit game gritty.

From what I played at PAX, this game is going to be completely average and inoffensive, gameplay-wise. I guess it's up to the story and presentation to be outrageously bad, which... seems entirely possible. We'll see.

Isn't Castle Of Glass the only Linkin Park song in this? Sure as hell isn't gritty. :lol

I actually do like the song though.

I was just delivering the obligatory LP hate, haha. Honestly, if "feat. Mike Shinoda" just means he's doing instrumental stuff, I'd be ok with it I guess. His music worked fine in The Raid. I just think all the cross-marketing stuff with this and Linkin Park is super bizarre, especially considering how the game is also supposed to be GRIM SOLEMN BY SOLDIERS GRITTY and grounded. The truck promotion was equally off-putting.

Holy shit I completely forgot this game was coming out. It's been oddly silent for a "AAA" EA shooter.

I did enjoy the last game's campaign even though it was so short it was offensive. The MP was hot DICE garbage though.

Yeah, Im not fond of them trying to force a LP song in or whatever.. I typically don't want anything but instrumental OST stuff. I mean I guess a LP song can work during the credits, but despite me not hating them I'd still rather their stuff not be in games. As for Mikes instrumental stuff, I agree, its always fun and it could be pretty good.

Anyways, Ill probably check this game out for the SP...the beta turned me off and I am limited on cash as it is.

The campaign for the first one was great. I really enjoyed it. The multiplayer had so much potential but what hurt it was sniper-spamming and a lack of maps for TDM and other modes.

Don't know the MP for this one since I haven't tried the beta. But are those 8 maps like Battlefield where they're huge gigantic maps with many different areas? Or is it just 8 Call of Duty-like Maps?

I wonder what EA's internal sales metrics are for this title in order for Danger Close to not be in any danger of being closed?

Liked both the campaign and the multi in the last one, and enjoyed the beta for Warfighter. There were alot of good ideas present in the beta and I'm looking for a new shooter since I burnt out on MW3, so I can't wait to get this.

I ordered with the 50% off and I am in Canada. The site I linked to gives you a promotional code for the 50% after you sign in with your origin account to verify that you have BF3 Premium. So I assume you just use the code on the origin store for your region.

The reason why I ask is due to the * statement saying.

* Offer only available in select territories

And then under that is the list of the avail languages. With that in mind its odd that they dont have the US english or at least the flag next to the british one. Gives the impression that the US is not included with this deal. Odd too considering Danger Close is a US California based studio.

Can someone whos in the US confirm this? As want to pass the info on to a buddy, but dont want to waste his time if its not for the US.

When does the review embargo end?

While I love 2010's SP I agree with Derrick01 about the MP. The Warfighter Beta kinda grew on me but I'm waiting on review consensus before I pull the trigger on a purchase.

I really really loved the first one. The SP was so good MP was shite though. I was really hoping the MP this time around would be a lot more tactical but I'm not sold on it.

Maybe when it drops to £20 I'll grab it.

Anyone played the PC version? The first one was a very "we don't really know why we are putting this out on PC" port.

I was thinking the same thing.

Sign me up for the 10$ price point. The last one was a mess in almost every area.

I got Crysis 2 for $5 6 months after release on Amazon, I'm sure this one will drop faster than that.

Call me when its cheap, just got the first MoH for free the other day from Origin.

Journos on Twitter have been complaining that the next big October game is not even being sent to the press. I'm guessing it's Medal of Honor.

I hope it turns out. The first one had a solid campaign and looked pretty great.

I really hope that they didnt try to Hollywood up this game too much.

First one had some pretty awesome sequences, some of the BEST facial animations along with emotions portrayed by the characters eyes and an excellent ending.

Do hope that the SP campaign will be just as good if not better also.

Might pick this up on PC. I did enjoy the campaign of the first one.

Want to try out the multiplayer, but the impressions in the 360 beta thread weren't the most positive. Still, with BB having that deal, I might just pick this up along with Virtue's Last Reward.

Can't wait to pick it up on PC. I found the PC version to play a lot better than the 360 beta months ago which is obvious to some but it's quite the difference. Unless they drastically changed the game from that PC build to the 360 build, then I'm happy with the MP's gameplay except the camping which depends solely on the map since the one wasn't too bad whereas the beta was.

The campaign is what I'm really interested in even though I like the MP. The first game's campaign managed to give you big moments while also feeling very grounded, raw, and personal. It's the only game that has ever made me tear up a bit at one point simply because I was drawing parallels to real people I guess, but still. This one involving real GWOT AO's is interesting instead of just the typical places or a light plot meant to give you variety with no sense to it. I think this gives us a better look into the worldwide aspect of the war even if it's a fictional story in this case.

I gotta represent the U.S. OGA online since it's supposed to represent the intelligence community in this case. I'd normally choose SEALs as a SOCOM fan, but I have to represent intel. :p

I got a separate report from someone I know back in the US of A saying that it did not work for him either. And hes a premium member too for BF3 apparently. Am hoping its just some sort of hiccup on EA / Origins side thats causing this.

I loved the single player in the first, but there is no way I'll pay $60 for this. Single player reviews would.
