Still don't get it. WHY are they doing this? Whats in it for them? Whats the upside here?
Usually Activision's motives are pretty clear.

You 100% genuinely do not understand. That's okay though, because NeoGAF happens to be the #1 Video Game Industry Forum.
You get a bonus map that is unplayable in public matchmaking. This was not explained when pre ordered, not explained on the Hardened Edition for consoles, the Digital Deluxe edition on Steam, nor is it explained on the upgrade to digital deluxe on Steam. As a matter of fact, buying the game after launch day gives the impression the only way to get the extra map, on Steam at least or in the case of most console disks pressed after launch date, is through the more expensive version of the game.
There has never been, quite literally, a situation in the whole of the COD franchise where you had a map that you couldn't find a way to play in public matchmaking.
Never. There is always a playlist of some sort for DLC. Be it just DLC maps, or DLC maps mixed in with regular maps, or DLC with only some types of game modes, there's a way to play that map.
They have removed the ability for individuals to use a part of their purchased product for the purpose the part of that product is intended to be used for in a way that has never been done in the history of the franchise. The map might as well, and this is not hyperbole, not even exist due to the way the custom game feature works.
It's not about the playlist, although that is blatant misrepresentation with the verbiage "24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we never close" and the playlist not even being open for a full and complete seven days for each person who could access that playlist. It's about the inability to use a mutliplayer map in the modes the map was originally intended, playlist be damn, to be used.
wow 14 pages of this shit. lol
how many billions of people bought this game day 1? if half of them complain im sure they can get Treyarch to fold and put it back up.
Veezy explained this to you in a post that you casually ignored (it's about 5 or 6 up from another one of your "blame the fans" nonsense):
I'd encourage you (orznge) to try to speak to the points raised by Veezy, as these are why a lot of people are cheezed off. not some straw man/compendium of the worst opinions in this thread that are easy to attack.
like the problem is that I can literally post "Fuck you, you entitled pieces of shit. You paid for a product with no guarantee that that playlist would not be removed less than a week after launch." and people will take it seriously, because there are people on this forum that actually express that sentiment and mean it

Fact is, people like it the way it was. Keeping it that way bothers no one while removing it does. So, that's just kinda being douchey. It's as simple as that.
You know how I'd be on board with you though? If they gave us a reason. The absence of reason is not practical, so you're just promoting the impracticality of the situation. Kinda a low move.
I'd be pretty shocked if you indirectly told me you paid $60 to play one map too. Yeah, it's shitty and all but come on. There are tons of other maps in the game and you're returning a game over a pre-order bonus.
Because in 3 months when sales are in a lull or XBLA traffic is dipping they can bust out "NUKETOWN 24/7 THIS WEEKEND!" to drum up hype and traffic.
This is quality trolling from Treyarch.i knew not to expect quality from treyarch
Seriously? So they're idiots then.Because in 3 months when sales are in a lull or XBLA traffic is dipping they can bust out "NUKETOWN 24/7 THIS WEEKEND!" to drum up hype and traffic.
I am uh vehemently against this if you didn't notice
Fuck you, Treyarch. I'll play Halo 4 instead. And I won't be buying your ridiculously overpriced map packs, you pricks.
I AM ALTERING THE DEAL. PRAY I DON'T ALTER IT ANY FURTHER.
If I can return this tomorrow, I'll be picking up Halo 4. This move singlehandedly broke my unwavering fanboyish abusive love for the series. It'd be nice if the playlist came back but I'm no longer starstruck.
Halo 4 is pretty legit.
Plus without pre-ordering you get new co-op missions every week for free.
They will bring it back when they want to be considered "heroes" of the day or need a quick weekend boost.
It's actually funny as hell and smart. This level of bait and switch is one that publishers dream about but don't because of backlash.
No one thinks this is a good idea. Customer support 101. Nevermind forums, look on Activision's Facebook page. People are pretty pissed.

They probably took Nuketown off to draw attention away from their shitty netcode problems.
Ah, I got mine from Newegg too, and it included Nuketown.
But of course now, no one really has Nuketown so it's not like you're out much.
As the saying goes, there's no such thing as bad publicity. Especially if this story has a 'happy ending' and Activision puts it back in.
Also, if this trends on twitter, that's just more free advertising for them at this point.
As someone who hates Nuketown with a white hot passion, this is still completely stupid
Well, that and between now and Christmas I'm sure they'll be enough people getting the game that there won't be too huge of a gap.
Of course they'd bring it back. But why did we have to demand it in the first place?
